Interesting coincidence then... but to be honest, I saw the rumors of the Elite price cut before the rumors that the PS3's price would drop, so I actually wouldn't be surprised if it WAS coincidence after all.

Of course he owns. So he can put a sticker on it that says "MY CONSOLE IS BETTER!!". He also bought it second hand so he wouldn't give Sony a cent.
But he owns a PS3, that's what matters!

AAAAAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAA!!!!!
Of course he does, It only does EVERYTHING am I right? :p

but all aside, I agree with this below, since it actually makes sense from an industry standpoint

Joking aside. Of course he has a PS3. He needs to know what the opposition has. I bet he has a Wii, a DS, a PSP and powerhouse PC. I bet plenty of dudes at Sont own a 360 and every other console.
Even McDonald's mut buy from it's competition to see what works and doesn't.

And he must have one so he can mock it.

Whatever you say Pinochio. Still glad I bought a ps3. *and I really doubt that VG chart is accurate. The Ps3 should have sold 24 mil at least. But meh. Going off topic.*

Like we didn't already know that Mirosoft was only going to drop the price to match the competition anyway especially since they are in the stronger market position and have a cheaper fabrication process

Actually I'm inclined to believe him.
Everyone knew the price drop was coming.

Also, the prices of consoles generally drop this time of year EVERY YEAR!
It's when kids go back to school, summer is over, and people prepare to stay in doors.
It's FALL, hello!? Labor day weekend is a big shopping weekend (at least here stateside).

OMG, I'm going to go waaaay out on a limb here.. and predict that there will be.. *gasp*.. ANOTHER price drop around oh.. November/December, probably December... OMG! I'm magic!
Also... one company will drop their price.. and then.. the OTHER will too..

I'm also going to make a half-assed prediction off the cuff that more games, especially ones with higher production values, will probably start to come out rapidly, continuing through september, rising to a peak around the End of November, Crest in December and then slowly wane by mid-January.

This is only a guess, however, so no one can be sure if my power powers of clairvoyance will be proven eerily accurate...

You're pretty spot on, except for the software predictions.

MAG, Singularity, Heavy Rain, Dark Void, God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII are all coming out between January and April.

Interesting, but as long as my PS3 continues to function I really see no need to invest in the console yet.

Can't help but feel the same way about Greenberg's thoughts regarding the PS3S.

Usually longwinded all-caps laughing fits are reserved for people who...shall we say are less reasonable people. Tone on the Internet is not easy to decipher.

I'm not quite sure I believe those dates, honestly.
I suspect (and EXPECT) many of those titles to get pushed back, depending on what the fall 2010 lineup looks like, and the level of quality as well as Holiday 2009 sales.
I fully expect Heavy Rain, God of War III, and FF XIII to see a delay until October 2010.

The only ones I think will actually release "on time" is Dark Void and Singularity, but just because something is on "time" doesn't mean it's "free of bugs". So I'm going to watch those two VERY carefully.

OH, isn't white knight chronicles coming out soon and Demon Souls? Anyone know the release dates on those? Arent those early spring too?
