Ok so i was bored and downloaded the MS-DOSBox which for those who don't know what it is... the ms-dosbox is an emulator for old computer games from the 90s and i was wondering if you wonderful people have any suggestions on which games i should get for it first.

I can only think of one game.

X-Com. It's been voted best game ever by numerous gaming sites and magazines so it must be pretty good right?

Crusader No Remorse / No Regret is excellent, but a bit iffy to get running, the CD version did pretty well for me once I was able to convince dos box to recognize my drive after the installation.

The story of Tie Fighter is supposed to be amazing, but the visuals are a bit hard to swallow after so much time. (a remake due if anyone is asking me)

One Must Fall 2097, Duke Nukem 3D, Jazz Jackrabbit, the fabulous Epic Pinball series, and Raptor: Call of the Shadows are all good choices.

and if you only pick one game, try out Solar Empire, its a fabulous game. It even has a great sequel.

My guess is that availability of the games is going to be the hardest thing, finding old dos software is tough.

I agree with all the above suggestions and add the original Bard's Tale trilogy, Tyrian, all the Ultima games prior to 9, AD&D Gold Box games, Neuromancer, Wing Commander Privateer, and pretty much every DOS adventure game by Lucasarts. Oh and Might and Magic: World of Xeen. Apologies in advance for being RPG heavy. Though I could lay down a lot more recommendations.

Realistically for DOS games you could recommend every game some companies created between certain years. Bullfrog, New World Computing, and Origin being some of my favorites throughout the late 80s and into the 90s. Along with SSI, but not all their stuff.
