Depends on the game.

FPS games I prefer on my PC. Games like Fallout or Elder Scrolls have to be on the PC for modding.

Obviously 360/console only games I get for my 360.

Mostly I play on my PC though.

I have simple rules to follow in regards to which console I'll multiplatform games for.

Is it an FPS. i.e., COD, Battlefield etc? Xbox 360 (I prefer that controller for FPS games).

Is it a Bethesda title? Xbox again, mostly because they tend to be buggier on the PS3 and Microsoft tends to get the DLC earlier.

Is it a fighting game? Again, Xbox because of the controller.

If a game doesn't fit into any of those areas, I'll get it for PS3.
Surely racing games, as well, should be on the 360?

I tend to do what OP has been doing. I buy anything that can be on the 360, on the 360. All PS3 exclusives I get on PS3 because I don't have a choice.

I only came across to the 360 from PS2 because the PS3 was still prohibitively expensive when I decided to come into the current gen and I was keeping my PS2 anyway, so back compatibility wasn't a draw (the fat ones were still around) and I had heard the PSN was fucking horrible.

I don't like the interface for the PS3 still, I can't like it, I try, but it doesn't work.

I didn't like the PSP's interface either.

multi platforming?

pc does it best.

then Xbox

then PS3

.....in most cases....
Woah, woah! calm down sir!

No flame war please! Besides, every console sucks equally. Including PCs! Mad? Come at me bra!

OT: I use Metacritic. they suck bawls at reviewing/rating games, but it does help with deciding which version is best; that, and I'm lazy.

Hows that going to start a flame war? first off i said in most cases

second just read what devs say about coding games for the systems in question, then look at video comparisons between systems.

that list there is a fairly accurate account of the quality of multi platform games, not 100% true but certainly a good guide and im sure most would agree with me.

as for meta critic it's a complete false economy, i wouldn't trust anything on that site

It... I don't even know. I have Dragon Age, Darksiders, the Assassins Creed games, and a few others on my PS3, and another somewhat random assortment of games on my 360. I generally use my xbox for more shooter-type games, and the PS3 for more RPG/adventure type games, although I do have the ME series on the xbox 360.

If it's on PC, I get it for PC. If it's not on PC, but is on PS3, I get it for PS3. If it's not on PC or PS3 I don't buy it because I sold that badbox years ago.

Let me add to my question: for those who defer to the PC, (and please don't take this the wrong way; I'm not challenging your choices or flaming;) why would you? I mean, it just doesn't make sense to me; is it not a chore to have to constantly spend money upgrading your machine in the HOPES of being able to play the latest and greatest games and/or the same games that are on consoles? I understand there's a lot more flexibility in several arenas on the PC, and of course the PC itself has more functionality beyond gaming, but having to pick up a new game and, before entertaining the thought of an impulse purchase, having to flip it over and check off a list of PC requirements would be frustrating, especially for someone who can't afford to put $6000 into a uber-gaming tower.
