Alright so I was watching a Classic Game Room episode on youtube and he just reviewed Gears of War 2, I beat the game a while ago and played some of it online but I remembered that I didn't play it online nearly the same amount that I did Gears 1, and I was stumped because Gears 2 multiplayer would only be better so why...oh yeah.

Because you can't host your own match or have a guest player in the game anymore, I had a lot more fun playing the game with my brother split screen, it made it easier to communicate, but they removed that feature too (playing with a guest that is), you had to have 2 xbox live accounts if you wanted to play split screen and we were not forking the cash out for that. I was so pissed at the change that I only wound up playing Horde with friends for a while. The game still rocks but the multiplayer changes had me quit.

Is there a multiplayer game you loved and something came along (in perhaps a sequel even) that stopped you from playing? Keep it clean nothing that's going to start a fight please.

I would say CoD4 on the grounds that it's really unrealistic, and everyone uses GL's, Marty, and Silenced Sub-Machine guns.

I had to give up on Battlestations Pacific multiplayer. The multiplayer was awesome but the servers were always empty. Seriously, I was lucky to find 2 people online at the same time. The game itself was amazing so I still wonder why there was no online community.

Another game that I have kinda given up on is Company of Heroes. At least for the vanilla version, the multiplayer has become boring and unoriginal due to the introduction of the British and general blobbing now commonly in use. But mods like Joint-ops in which you can play custom scenarios against the AI still make the game very fun.

Dawn of War 2. Maybe if I had never played the first, it would be better. As it is, it just felt so wrong.

Man does that suck for you. I would've tried playing in some different game modes but whatever.

I gave up on GoW2 also because I basically sucked at it and didn't really want to put in the effort or the time to get good at it.

EDIT: Oh and CoD:WaW because after playing for about 40 levels, I realized I had just been duped out of $60 bucks by Treyarch for a fucking CoD4 re-skin.

I did, I played that game to death. I was really good at the game, and played all game modes. I even got to level 47, 6 tier prestige. But, as I stated, people messed the game up for me, and I don't play it anymore.

I don't no why gow2 made me stop playing it. The single player is good, but i could never get into the multiplayer.

Call of Duty 4: Couldn't find a single normal mode TDM server.

Team Fortress 2: 2fort and Mario Kart were the only maps played on all the servers where I got decent latency.

Counter Strike Source: Too difficult and too random, I'd aim at someone's head and it was pure luck if the bullet hit and if it would be a kill.

For me, I guess Gears of War 2. Partially because I do bad, and partially because the Hammer Burst and Lancer just didn't feel the same as the first one.

The multiplayer seemed fun and fine to me but I couldn't get into it because I liked having the social interaction with someone next to me while we played, not just on a mic. It made the game just that much more fun.

Team Fortress 2, mainly because I sucked so bad at it and I wasn't getting good fast enough, so I sold it (Orange Box) for retail price to a dumb friend.

Gears 2...It's just a bloody shotgun fest and that is defiantly not my weapon on choice. I would play it in a second if it had a hardcore mode like CoD where the hammerburst and lancer were actually viable choices when you want to kill someone.

Civilization IV: Nobody plays the game as it was meant to be played, they just want to do military victory-only games, which I can't stand. I prefer out-economizing my foes.

Thank you! Someone else with my sentiments. Civ was not made to be a mindless war-a-thon like most of the other games out there, it was made to be a diplomatic game that uses war as a contingency plan.

TF2. I got tired of having to play pyro to get more than 2 kills.

I believe this poster is appropriate.

I almost never go to war. Considering how massive my economy usually is, I can buy my way out of any wars, which allows me to focus on technology increases, and then I win via Space Race. When they realize my plan, it's too late; I'm already locked up with impenetrable defense as the clock slowly winds towards my victory.
