Hey, everyone! Having played Left 4 Dead to death, my mates and I have been looking for a new adventure to undergo together, and I'm eager to hear you suggestions.

We can't go with AAA-titles because my friends' computers are rather outdated. We had some fun with Terraria, but it's not really suited for occasional play: one can't access the game world when the host is offline, and our sessions usually only last 1-1.5 hours, so it would take us years to get anywhere far in that game.

The same thing applied to Minecraft, but they recently introduced the Realms feature which lets you create a standalone server. We're going to try that, although I don't expect us to stick with Minecraft for long: it's fun until you've built your first house, but after that the process becomes somewhat pointless.

We've also tried Space Station 13. The concept is really interesting, but the game's definitely not novice-friendly and, from my experience, can be super boring at times.

So what can you recommend me? This can be a game of any genre, though I'd prefer it to be something action-oriented and cooperative rather than competitive.

Viscera Cleanup Detain is a fun game all about gore and explosions and can supply hours of fun when played with friends. Its all based around action if that's what you like and is cooperative.

Also as the guy above me said payday 1 is one of the best coop games out there

Yeah, we've tried Monaco. It's a funny little game, but it's kinda chaotic: rather than performing a robbery together, it feels like you're all just playing single player simultaneously. I think we'll give it another shot, though.
Serious Sam is something I've long wanted to try, thanks for reminding.

Alien Swarm
Free game on steam, quite a few years old so your buds should be able to handle it, bad news only one campaign. Also might need to bust out hamachi or host a server, haven't played in a while so not quite sure.

Warframe and just play with your mates in a squad.

Borderlands with settings on low.

Magicka, will need someone to host.

Shoot Many Robots, just a dumb run n shoot. Might be fun.
