Back in '02 I picked up a wondorous game, a game called MOH:AA, for the uninitiated, MOH:AA is medal of honor: allied assault, this was one of my first video games, I went through the single player, had a little fun.

Then I got to the multiplayer. It became the only game I would play, day in and day out, for 4 years, after which I discovered counterstrike and WoW.

What i'm saying here is, I don't play single player games, I play the occasional one, but even then I feel like i'm just slogging through to the end so I can get back on WoW, why do people play single player games, do you?

I realize I made no points as to why I prefer multiplayer, I want you to point out yours reasons, I just play multiplayer because it's something I can master and feel like i'm beating others at, that and single player games are just dull.

Single for me. Multi-player games are often full of hackers, glitchers, the glitches themselves, or repetitive grind. At least single player gives me something to motivate myself with, other than gaining the next level/ran/etc.

Not to say I completely rule out multi, but I prefer single.

I find it ironic that you say that you "slog through single player games to get back to WoW", although it's your right to think that.

I don't really mind whether a game is focused on single player or multiplayer, it seems stupid to complain about it on pronciple.

Depends on the game, I've had games with horrible single player and great multiplayer, or vice versa. Generally, if a game has both and the single player isn't compelling/and or funny I'll prefer the multiplayer, but that's only a general rule.

i like both, but multiplayer can be really annoying if there's a whiner/bragger/cheater in the game -_-

I play single-player because it is usually very involved, and sometimes epic.

I play multiplayer for the replay value.

I've never tried a single-player game I was completely disgusted with, and I can't seem to find a perfect multiplayer.

I like them both equally.

Single Player games for when I want to be immersed in the story, actually take the game seriously.

And Multi-player for when I just want to shoot some of my friends in the face, followed by a good ol'fashioned tea bag.

If I'm playing with friends, then Multiplayer. But I don't like playing with strangers, especially when my main multiplayer game is Halo...so yeah.

Definitely single-player.

No amount of multi-player scuffles can compete with single-player experiences such as Silent Hill 2 or Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

I like both ways, but generally prefer single player so I don't have to deal with blathering loons online. There's far too many idiots with mics, people who cheat, or only play to get a specific achievement.

Single Player all the way. I like playing by myself and plus i can increase the difficulty at will and give myself a challenge to complete whereas in multiplayer just taking two steps sometimes in itself is more challenging then Devil May Cry 3 on Heaven vs Hell mode because of all the cheaters, criers, teabaggers, hackers and general shitstains that inhabit it.

It's like.. hmm. more alive.
I like to be able to communicate with the players.
And ehh...
Well, most games are more fun to play with friends than alone.
Also I can't find all those jerks people are talking about. There are some opportunists but it's not that bad and I've never been insulted or made fun of.

Mostly singleplayer. I enjoy to experience a good story, without being bothered by screaming kids. I've always found multiplayer experiences to be a bit shallow and brainless. Multiplayer often takes the simplest parts from singleplayer games and builds a new game around it without any emotional content or joy of accomplishment.

Single player for me. Multiplayer is just a secondary for me, mainly cause I don't have many friends, thats besides the point.

If it doesn't have at least a good single player game and storyline to it, I wont touch it.

Back when we had real dedicated servers everything was nice... I prefer single player now.
