Starcraft 2 comes to mind.aperson726 said:My idea is bringing an honor code or respects at endgames for players of the losing team. Each player will be assigned with the dead body of their rival of that match. The player can decide to bury them, burn them, piss on them, w/e the player feels should be done based on their gameplay. I would like to find more big multiplayer matches with a one on one aspect facing off against a player of equal strength.
It's customary for players to do a little "hi how are ya" chat at the beginning, and "gg" (good game) at the end. Granted there are still occasional dicks, but on the whole the community is more civil then most.
The whole "long battle against someone of equal strength" is pretty much 1vs1 mantra for Starcraft, games can last for hours. And especially in the pro scene you'll see a lot of people congratulating their opponent if they were beat by an innovative or unique strategy. The matchmaking system is good at pitting people of equal skill against each other. (Well, except for Bronze (lowest) league where players game the ranking system for portrait wins, but Silver and up are generally very good about putting you next to someone of your skill)
The downside to "long battle against someone of equal strength" however, is that if you lose, you've just spent the last hour on a lost game. Which can mean losses are pretty depressing. I personally don't do a ~whole~ lot of SC multiplayer for this reason, I don't find losses all that fun or enjoyable.
Honestly, I'd highly recommend trying SC2 if that is the kind of multiplayer you want.
