Anything by Rob Hubbard
And Elite got me into Strauss. :)

Actually...Rimsky Korsakov (Arabian Nights), Tchaikovsky (Bristles), Chopin (Dynamite Dan), Bach (Civilisation), Mozart (Fatal Fury 2, Homeworld)...lot of very good classical tunes as well.

Braid. All the songs are amazing and I had to beat my brother to buy it for me. His collapsed lung is definitely worth it. Check it out.

Deus Ex
Vampire: Bloodlines
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey
Tribes II

In points two and four, music was actually stored as MP3 files in the game folders.

Most all Halo music.

It is epic, and and has been fitting background, for many a LAN party.

I'd never been that into half the bands from Guitar Hero, but now I've got most of them on my iPod.

I went to great lengths to find both the Portal soundtrack (do I need to explain that one?) and the SSBB soundtrack - 300+ classic gaming tunes was simply too good a chance to turn down for me.

I've picked up quite a few bands from the Burnout games, though it's not really hard or anything to find out the names or bands, but damn if they don't make great driving music on the way to work. I can't remember any of the names though, and I'm too lazy to look them up now.

Yea i agree. Just at the time i was getting into Alternative Rock/ Indie punk I played Burnout: revenge and it gave me all this great music.

I really, really, really, really, really, REALLY want the orange box soundtrack.
You could also buy Audiosurf via Steam. It also costs 10$, and the Orange Box soundtrack is included for free.
And I guess it's somewhere in the OB game files.

I really liked each and every single soundtrack to each and every Zuxxez published game I played so far. These would be
The I Of The Dragon
KnightShift (especially "A prince for sey land", "Mor An Gunn", and the track called "Daylight 1")
Earth Universe (especially the song playing in the E2160 main menu. I don't know its name, it starts with "Where do I go, what do I do, far away from home?". The Rap track in the credits screen is also quite good)
and
Two Worlds (I admit "Play The Game" does have some weird lyrics, but it sounds great and matches the game's atmosphere well)

And of course Portal. "Still Alive" made me look up Jonathan Coulton, and thus allowed me to enjoy lots of his other songs.

Which leads me to a small question:
Does anyone know more songs by one of these artists?
Leeza Harrison
Amber Moon
Maciej Pawlowski
Malgorzata Olszewska

Stewart Copeland for the music of the first three Spyros. Awesome music, and an awesome musician.
Also, Tsunami Bomb in Disgaea is good. The song with the girl singing that sounds like a pissed off Christina Aguilera circa No Doubt and a sweet organ intro.

Where should I start...
On my hard-disk I have Actraiser, Age of Empires, Castlevania, Chrono Trigger (series), Conker's Bad Fur Day, Demon's Crest, Donkey Kong, E.V.O., Earthworm Jim, Fable, Final Fantasy (every single fawkin' one of them), Guild Wars, Jak & Daxter, Kingdom Hearts, Kirby, Legend of Zelda, Live a Live, Megaman, Metroid, Mother, Overlord, Portal, Ratchet & Clank, Secret of Evermore, Secret of Mana, Soul Blazer (series), Super Mario, Super Smash Bros, Tetris, World of Warcraft and more. 11684 files, and about 30 GB in total. And that's without the OCRemix-thingies.

Way to fill my hard-disk.

I think I should get a life...
