You're not going to try and defend a genre in this thread are you? because anyone who tries to explain a genre of music (or anything else) to someone that hates it just comes across as a massive selfrightious tool.

On the other hand, someone who expresses a hatred of something that they don't really have a good knowledge of to someone that knows and likes that thing comes off as ignorant and a prick.

Pretty much every example on this thread where someone has tried to explain their dislike of a genre has revealed to have a very poor knowledge of the it. Generally citing the very worst of said genre, artists that people who are actually into the genre don't listen to.

I don't disagree with you there, but what I'm saying is that it's futile trying to argue with them. as you said, they're ignorant pricks. welcome to the internet ;P

Rap - I dislike it for virtually the same reasons as the OP.

Country/Western - Again, I dislike it in the same ways as the OP.

Screamo - Ah, Screamo, how I hate you. Screamo takes, in my opinion, absolutely no talent to sing, and it's simply screaming into the Mic. However, some of the Music Screamo is... Screamed(?) to can be alright.

I can stand most types of music, it's very rare that I listen to something for a few seconds, say "no" and shut it off before I harm myself. Pop, "Hardcore", hip-hop and anything else where the same 2 or 3 sentences are put on a constant loop over some copy-pasted drum beats or anything that encourages girls to go out and be sluts or guys to go out and be slut abusers would be what would make do the above or at best I'd give a "that was alright but I wouldn't want to put myself through it again".

Oddly enough, of all the music genres out there, I like reggae the least. But there is no genre I cannot stand, just artists and bands.

i will stand anything apart from country, rap, and doof-doof

metal is good so long as the singer doesnt smoke 2 packs aday- that i why i prefer instrumentals

oh yer and i forgot to ad - any genre that has a J at the start of it and that J signifies Japan
