What are some songs that make you feel better? I've been having some days lately where I feel down about all the things I have to do every week and a few songs help me feel better when I listen to them. Here's a couple.

Flogging Molly's 'The Worst Day Since Yesterday
Three Days Grace's 'life Starts Now'
My Chemical Romance's 'I Don't Love You Like I Did Yesterday'
Skillet's 'One Day Too Late'

This song right here can lift me up out of any bad/sad mood. Anneke's chorus is just so cheery sounding :D

The entire album is excellent as well.

I've been listening to Daft Punk's RAM album and Give Life Back to Music just lights up my day. Also, most of Jamiroquai's songs and Blind Guardian's Battlefield.

I have an odd way of cheering myself in music:

For the record, the fact that both songs are named Asylum is pure coincidence.

Yeah, I normally don't go after traditionally cheerful music to cheer me up. Well, sometimes I do, but I think my obvious love for Edguy should show that.

Pretty much this, I like to play heavy metal to make myself feel better.
I feels kind of empowering, I suppose.

Also, nice to see another Edguy fan.

This one from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones is actually a very depressing song as far as lyrics & content go, but it always makes me feel better.
And this Avantasia song is so awesome how could it not make you feel better.
Clutch always makes me happy, but this one makes me smile with the opening lines.
And now for a little metal from Mastodon
And last, but not least... Eminem... Because why not...

I mostly listen to Doom/Death/Black metal. It doesn't exactly make me feel "happy" but, it... i feel better listening to it. I believe it has to do with the way the right type of music can really connect to the listener on an emotional level, a song can sing the emotions and thoughts that you feel and so this resonates with the listener. Extreme metal, usually with a bit of depressing doom-like traits or atmospheric elements as they call it now, is what i like best.

Depending on my mood, sometimes i listen to other types of music like electronic, chiptune, symphonic and punk.

There are quite a few songs that cheer me up. I don't thing I could list them all so here are a select few.

There are more and more again that haven't come to mind but I enjoy all the above and I definitely find they cheer me up.

Half on my list make me happy and at peace and the other half make me happy and want to declare war on something. I listen to doom/death/gothic/extreme/melodic/symphonic/viking/pirate Metal. The only metal I cannot stand is Nu Metal.

Dimmu Borgir - Gateways
Dimmu Borgir - Dimmu Borgir
Amon Amarth - All of their songs
Cradle of Filth - Lord Abortion
Kalmah - They will Return
Dethklok - The Cyborg Slayers
Children of Bodom - Taste of my Scythe
Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Blood of Hatred
Dark Tranquility - Dry Run
Sirenia - most of their songs
Shade Empire - Human Sculpture
Shade Empire - Conjuration
Acrassacuda - Message from Baghdad
Ozzy - Bark at the moon
Arch Enemy - My Apocalypse
Elis - Innocent Hearts
Dragonlord - Until the End
Devildriver - all of their songs
Alestorm - most of their songs
Naglfar - any of it.

I'll stop, otherwise I will be here all day.

FUCK IT ALL, FUCK THIS WORLD
FUCK EVERYTHING THAT YOU STAND FOR
Nothing better than the 'knot to get rid of dem feels. I find cheerful music just irritates me when I'm in a shit mood, sad music is good but inevitably makes me feel worse, but getting a bit of rage out deals with it. Slipknot, and especially Corey's vocals (and fantastic lyrics), seem to just capture that unhinged rage better than any other band I can find. There is nothing better to burn it all away than to thrash about like a twat, screaming the chorus to Surfacing.
