What music do you listen to to help fire up the imagination?

I was in a creative slump for a while, but I've been listening to Mozart/Beethoven/Vivaldi and it certainly helped a lot.

I like some immediate music, or Two Steps from Hell.

Quite interesting to watch the Youtube videos with those tracks on them, read the comments and be shocked at the vast amount of unoriginal ideas people post.

But if you can ignore people writing about their "epic battle scenes" The tracks are amazing and helpful if you need to get that creative engine revving.

Pink Floyd Animals. Not sure why but that album has always been inspirational for me. It's not even my favorite Floyd but for some reason it speaks to me.

PS. My favorite and somewhat inspirational is Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

Enigma, The Seatbelts (band that does the music for cowboy beebop), various OC remix tracks or Newgrounds techno.

Was that an intentional pun?

Pigs is such a kick ass song.
If I had to pick a favorite off that album I guess I'd have to go with sheep. I don't dislike the post Barrett Floyd, they were a different band in my opinion but musically it's all about Syd for me. Astronomy Domine and Interstellar Overdrive are hard to rival. I'm going to stop now though to avoid a derail as talking about Floyd is almost as interesting as talking about Zeppelin for me.

A little progressive metal perhaps? Something like Pain of Salvation or OSI. It's very interesting music to listen to and always makes me feel like creating something.

The relaxing tunes of the Samurai Champloo soundtrack are pretty good for thinking:
And tons more. So soothing.

I do enjoy chiptune- retro stuff is nice, but you'd be amazed at what people can do with 8-bit hardware these days.
When more chill, I like Royksopp's more spacey music.
I don't listen to vocals or more energetic stuff when I'm creating. OK, so Royksopp has some vocals, but they're only used in the music when they behave more like an instrument than poetry shoved into a perfectly good tone.

I find Philip Glass is very nice when you're trying to write something creative on a deadline. It's quite structured, but works well within the parameters.

I'm going to throw some DSO in there as well, because why the hell not?
