Hey just wanted to see what kind of music people like to listen to whilst playing games.

Personaly I go for Power metal such as Dragonforce or Blind guardian, what about you?

Edit: Just encase anyone says the band "Search bar" they are a terrible band and have butchered music.

Depends on the game; sometimes whatever I feel like- other times; like with Oblivion or Fallout 3 I look up music that would suit the game and put it all into the game; via mods and such

well depending on the game, i play metal, trance and even classical.
But for games that have a story, I really wanna hear what characters are saying so no music.

I listen to rock, pop, or anime-related music while playing games. For example Pillar, Dragonforce, Nsync, Aqua Times, etc.

Depends on the game, no music if i need to hear whats going on. If i actually listen to music it's usually something like Phoenix or Radiohead.

Something to calm and relax me. So usually some ATB or Utada Hikaru, I dont play anything well if I'm stressing out.

I never put music on for single player games because i want to hear the story but for multiplayer: A random playlist of my favourite songs. I find coheed and cambria is very good for gaming

I've found, through extensive research and tiring deliberation, that Master of Puppets by Metallica is the perfect song to listen to whilst playing Quake 3 Arena.

Anything one my iPod. There's a wide range of music there. When I play games I set it to shuffle and most songs are pretty good to game to.

Depends on what type of game.

Shooters = anything heavy and fast. So like punk rock or metal. Examples Trivium and Pennywise

RPG's = something a little bit slower but still heavy in some parts. Ex. Dream Theatre, Muse, Breaking Benjamin, and Linkin Park

Strategy games = I like listening to alternative music and indie when I play strategy games. So music like The killers and Daughtry were nice to listen to I thought. Oh and techno is kind of fun to to play for strategy games and for shooters sometimes too.

Adventure games = Adventure games like GTA and Assassins creed I like listening to basically anything that has a good beat. I sometimes try to mimic the beat based on what I do. So anything with good basslines and drum lines. EX. Red Hot chili peppers, Queen,Rush and Incubus. I also like listening to punk rock especially if I'm playing GTA.

Puzzle games = Softer music, anything that calms me down and makes me drift off. Owl City and Theory of a deadman are examples.

Maybe I thought of this too much, but to me, certain music really can help you with how you play a game. That is why i'm a little picky when it comes to what I want to listen to while I play a game.
