I have two slipknot CD's. Though they are gifts, I'd never buy a mainstream metal album unless its Maiden, Priest, Megadeth or Sabbath.

EDIT - Found some old Deicide(Scars of the Crucifix) and Cannibal Corpse(Kill and Totm) albums a while ago. Though they are the reason for stereotype metal I can't help but thrash to them.
