Well, what songs/albums/bands remind you of games? To me there are several, the Oasis album "Dig Out Your Soul" reminds me of Fable 2, as I played the album on repeat whilst playing. I also associate the Killers, Razorlight and The Libertines with Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the same reasons. Another heavy link for me is Sum 41 and the Twisted Sister song "We're Not Gonna Take It" which me and my mate blasted whilst playing Borderlands split screen (during the climax of the first playthrough we changed the lyrics to "We're Not Gonna Make It" for the reason that we died around 6,000 times). So Escapists, what music reminds you of that special game?

...When you say music, I'm going take a wild guess and assume that OSTs don't count? because that cuts around 98% of my music. Assuming that, none of the music I've listened to remind me of games, though OSTs have been enough to make me replay games.

Well every time I hear "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" by Cage the Elephant all I can think of is Borderlands' opening scene. Other than that I can't really think of anything off the top of my head.

It's alright if the OST song is an actual song, and not made for the game, stuff like the radio in games like GTA or Saints Row. For example whenever I hear "The Final Countdown" or "Karma Chameleon" I think of those awesome days, flying planes into buildings.

A lot of Drudkh songs remind me of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and Metro 2033. Especially if you check out their instrumental, non-distorted songs, you'll notice striking similarities to the music in those games. I'm guessing it's a cultural thing as both the band and the game developers are Ukranian.

I think Dragonforce's Through Fire and Flames does it for me. That just makes me wonder why no RPG has licensed it for use yet. The song is just epic.

Well, I tend to associate "Master Passion Greed" by Nightwish with a certain character in Symphonic Rain. Also, "Private Emotion" by Ricky Martin actually became good once I started to associate it with Kana: Little Sister.

Also, by stint of pure Pavlovian conditioning, I started to associate 2009 US pop songs with Smash Brothers Brawl (the radio was always on in the place where I played). You'd be surprised how well a Lucario vs. Wolf duel syncs up with "Evacuate the Dance Floor."

I assumed this would be a Video Game music thread, I was wrong...

OT: I usually listen to the works of The Darkness and David Lee Roth. I have a song I associate with each of my favourite games.

What I play during replays of games (I usually enjoy the original score the first time through a game):

Yoko Kanno, who you will recognize from such animes as Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell-SAC
-for most action oriented games and fps's

Murder by Death's discography for Red Dead Redemption

Its gonna sound weired but. MoonLight Sonata. When i was young to young to be playing the newly released Resident Evil 1. At one point after being pale white and shaking i got to the paino part. I had Rebbeca practice and left.

Through out the main hall you'll hear this faint playing of the song. Just the setting and everything it sent chills down my spine as a kid. Was the first time i ever heard the song.

Now instead of me praising it as the most amazing song ever. I will always get chills listening to it. Its by far the most terrifying song ever made. Its beautiful but just its scary.

Every song I own is enexplicably tied to SOME game from my past, simply because of my habit of leaving Windows Media player Open ^/^ Be it Diablo 2, Halo, Lord of the Rings (the hack and slash ones), Fable 2 or even Super Mario.
