So in this thread, if you do listen to music put the game you play and the music you listen to while your playing.

One of my all time classics while I am playing the free to play flight simulator, War Thunder While in cockpit view this is one of the most awe inspiring tracks to dogfight to.

Whats yours? post em here!

I don't listen to music while I'm gaming.

The game devs worked hard to put in a soundtrack they think matched the mood of the game, might as well give them the benefit of listening to it.

Yet, they ussually give you the option to turn off the music. So I take that as an invitation to listen to music that I think is more appropiate.

So yeah, I ussually play XCOM: Enemy Unknown while listening Modern Warfare 2's soundtrack.
Also I play Doom with pretty much a bunch of metal in the background.

Right now I either listen to Get Jinxed on repeat, cause it's fucking awesome. I barely ever play League but I love Jinx's character

Or the Pillows, who I recently found out about but like a lot. They've been around forever, so there's no shortage of songs. Some of them are completely meh, but they have enough good ones.

Though since one of the games I'm playing the most is osu (a rhythm game), I can't really listen to other music.

I usually listen to Dark Side of the Moon while I'm playing Civilization V.

And I have no idea why.

If it's strategy or an Elder Scrolls game, I'm having power metal blasting. Battlefield 3 gets... whatever comes up on shuffle. Those are the only games I play music while playing.

Whenever I find myself playing Limbo, I typically play Progressive Rock like King Crimson or Pink Floyd or anything in the classic rock realm that's a little bit different.

It makes the intro really intense, and considering the music is so atmospherically low (the Music for the game), "Starless" is just intense after about the seven- eight minute mark. It's also wicked beautiful.

Start the game with this song, it's badass.

Back in my WoW days I used to listen to a lot of System of a Down while farming or doing dailys.

More specificly the Hypnotize album. Of course, this song (while not from hypnotize) always reminds me of WoW nowadays.

I don't listen to music while gaming either, unless I'm doing something mindless like grinding in Demon's Souls or FF or whatever. Generally I just don't like it, and feel like I can't split my attention to give either one full justice. I don't listen to music while skyping with friends or reading (except webpages etc) either.

If I have anything running in the background when I play games, it's usually a stream. The only time I ever really listen to music is when I'm in the car or mowing the lawn. I feel like music is a more active activity; it commands a certain amount of attention. Plus, I tend to let the game's music fill that role. That's what it's there for, after all.

But since streams are a fairly passive activity, I find it's a good opportunity to get some of my own game time in.

Depends on the game. If I'm playing league and not talking with friends over skype or something then I'll listen to either piano music or metal (sometimes depending on how the game is going I'll choose a playlist i.e. we're pulling a comeback and I'll play For Victory or Death or The Trooper). In any single player game I'll listen to the soundtrack (or lack thereof) that's included in the game.

Well when I play the League of Legends champion Nautilus I play this song full blast.
But then during the chorus I yell Full Steam Submarine instead...

Or if I'm playing something mindless that doesn't have stellar music I just resort to my playlist which is pretty much just Horrorpops at the moment. I'm just addicted to them right now.

When I was doing the war questline with the Legion in Skyrim, I had this part of the Return of the King soundtrack playing while I charged into the Storm cloaks during the Battle for Whiterun.
It was especially awesome because some giants with their mammoths had had their pathing glitched towards the battle. I ending up slaughtering the invaders and the huge beasts while here this glorious music.

Hah, my playlist is hella anime. Lots of vocaloid stuff, anime soundtracks, and of course, video game soundtracks. I have my old metal and hard rock favourites in there too. I only listen to out-of-game music when I'm playing a multiplayer game.

I have yet to even watch Haruhi, but I love this song. There's a lot of energy packed in this song. I like to think that it helps me play more confidently. When this song plays, it's as if I can't fail, no matter what I do.

Recently I've been playing The King of Fighters XIII, a difficult game even by fighting game standards. This song and all the other songs in my playlist, help me get through the ups and downs of netplay.

And here. Here's a song a like to play to cool off after a long session:

Heh, I should get back into Skullgirls.

my favorite game Myth II does not have music at all, it only has the violent noises, the clash of steel and the voice acting of your units in play. No they were not lazy, ill give you a taste of the music from the narration that gets played behind in the journal briefing narration here as proof.

I must say I love the bonus track the best, but they are all of equal quality.

It does have music in the campaign narration however, just in the battle its dead silent and works really well, so you can play music as an option with no issue in disabling music as there is none.
