I passed through a phase where I listened to Metroid Metal near constantly. Now a days though I listen to whatever music a game has in it already. With two exceptions:

Resident Evil 5: I have a zombie killing playlist. Quite a bit of metal and hard rock.

Modern Warfare 2: Anything I'm in the mood for, but I find the album Chuck from Sum 41 is quite decent while playing MW2.

For Diablo II, best music in game would be from Portal, The Ruins of Beverast, Sunn O))) or Vonn.

The ingame music, usually. Adds to the atmosphere of the game.

In multiplayer games I usually don't listen to anything. I want to hear the action, what's going on, I want to be aware of my surroundings. Music is only a distraction then. Except for UT99, but sadly I don't play that anymore.

though I think I'll play some WoW now with ummm....hmmmmm....jazz!

For absolutely anything ever made.

You really friggin' love that song don't you? And you know what, so do I. Gods disco is fantastic. So delightfully campy, cheesy, over the top and awful. Like this song:
It truly is the best minigame in the history of gaming. Ever. And always will be. 1:37 is just WOOOO!!!! I can only imagine the greatness of playing that with narcotics.

My new thing is to listen to the Dropkick Murphys while tanking.

It works wonders.

Generally the in-game standard music.

The exception being Fallout 3, where I much prefer the (also in-game, but not on by default) music on GNR.
