A peaceful protest in favor of limiting free speech is no more palatable to me than a peaceful protest to resist the right of women to vote or homosexuals to marry. I think better of you for not being violent about it, but not by a very wide margin.
Is a private company's refusal to host a video a limitation of free speech? Seems to me that google has no legal obligation one way or the other, and they can ban whatever video they see fit. Youtube already bans nudity, pornography, cruelty to animals etc. I really have no idea why google doesn't just ban the video - if its content is highly offensive to thousands upon thousands of people but acceptable by youtube standards, perhaps they should consider reviewing their content policy. From the perspective of youtube's many muslim users, its clearly falling short.

I feel there is somewhat of a degree of difference between video depicting animal cruelty and a guy saying "Islam is full of violent psychopaths".

But you're right. Youtube is a private organization. And they can choose to ban the insulting of a religion. They would be cowards, but they have the right to be cowards. None of this improves my opinion of the muslims who are protesting, mind you.

I watched 5 minutes of trailer
It looks horrible, like really bad
I could not be paid to watch a film that bad, it's like attack of the birds

On to what it is about... well
It was going to piss them off and I'm speaking of what seems to be the most volatile religious community at the moment.
It's unfortunate that the idiocy of it's creators has already been paid back a thousand times over with more violent protests. This means if they had a point to make it's currently being made for them.
As for blockading Google.... I don't really care about the free speech of these people but the damage has already been done.

From the 'Holy' Crusades to Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust, It can be said that the Muslim and Islamic people are 'SAINTS' compared to the Christians and Catholics who will just as quickly resort to violence against someone they disagree with. The moral of the story is: There are DICKS in EVERY society, and apart of EVERY religion.

Being surprised or 'Shocked' that Muslims in the Middle East are being angry in retaliation for what they perceive is religious attacks against them, is the EXACT same kind of response you'd get in the United States if they decided to build a Mosque at Ground Zero...oh wait...
What? Why did you bring up Hitler and the Holocaust when talking about Christianity? The infamy of Nazis has nothing to do with Christianity. As for your comments about "saints", I guess Jews live on a different planet than you. There is nothing "saintly" about working with the Nazi party in an attempt to deny Jews the ability to go to Jerusalem [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haj_Amin_al-Husseini#The_Holocaust].

Seriously, this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSwpAX1xvr]....is [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LToLaJ6cZCw]....not [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sC5qkMGEnE]....saintly [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aze0KJistiA].

OP:Good to see that the protest are non-violent. I don't know if I agree with it, but its good to see that violence isn't being used none the less.

If Islam were a corporation, I would tell them to fire all of their PR guys.

-- Edit

Are you kidding me? My game loads before I can hit post, so I wait like five minutes, and now there's a post about Muslim PR right above mine. Now I look like a copycat. MY RIGHTEOUS OUTRAGE MUST BE KNOWN. I'mma go barricade me some Googles.

It's shit like this that makes me want to stop being tolerant of other beliefs.
It's funny you say this, because just yesterday, my little brother was telling me how he read part of the Quran or whatever. Some guys forced one on him while he was on campus or something. It's in my room right now. It's super tiny. Maybe less text than the first Harry Potter novel ( as something as an universal yardstick I'm hoping everybody can relate to ).

He said the first six pages pretty much can be summarized as zealous intolerance against everybody not Islamic. For example, something about the Christians all being sinners and liars, but not knowing they are liars because God made them blind or something.

I was like, "that's silly; that can't possibly be true." But he just told me to read it for myself, and he's not the kind to lie about this kinda thing. So, gonna have to read a few pages myself in the near future.

That makes sense Islam was kinda built on conquest. I read a book about Islamic history once, the details escape me at the moment but i can see how that could be true.

Also, "Muzzies"? Imma gonna flag this post in the vain hope that at least one moderator gives a flying fuck about the racism that gets thrown around on these boards.
Wait, muslims are a race? That's news, I thought Islam was a religion, so should anyone who calls christians bible thumpers, also be reprimanded for racism?
As Felix already ninja'd me, it just sounds like you're looking to ruin someone's day because you find it offensive, which is a highly uncivilized and childish response, sort of like death threats and wars on account of religious differences.

I don't agree with any people trying to cause censorship of things that are insulting but overall harmless, doesn't matter if it's violent or peaceful, I see this in the same light that I view the westboro baptist church opposing any convention or gathering, because they don't agree with them.

If my less than friendly disposition towards idiots who overreact and flip shit over insignificant bullshit, makes me look like a prick, so be it, at least I'm a chill prick who doesn't try and ruin other people's fun because I don't agree with it, unless I saw someone trying to rape someone else, then there'd be blunt force trauma dispensed and a 911 call.

Freedom of religion & freedom of expression/sexuality/etc. cannot co-exist for extremists, so if they can't compromise, why should the rest of the world? Sometimes mommy government needs to leave her butthurt infants alone when they have a tantrum, otherwise they'll grow up spoiled with unrealistic expectations.

I think the Muslim faith as a whole should address themselves and everyone that belongs to their faith, with their "Campaign for Global Civility" before they even consider making a fuss about anything that any non-Muslim does.

Seriously, grow the fuck up. You are in the 21st century, not the 4th.
