okay...so I'm new to MvC and I've finally found a way to defeat energy-blast spammers. Hadoken, laser mouths, what have you. Ummm..generally this thread is for advice (give and recieve) for getting better at mvc.

My advice is for facing spammers who love to camp and shoot lasers. Use Akuma's tatsumaki (tornado kick) as he ghosts non-physical (ie: bullets) projectiles. THis will let you move straight through spammers attacks and close range for a well-deserved pounding.

i always have doom on my team just in case of spammers - he walks slow, but all his across screen moves beats down anything else. also, his hyper combo (photon something, the one where he shoots right up and it rains down) is great.

jumping and calling in assist at the same time can create unblockable opportunities case in point deadpool-a low assist with she hulk jumping heavy leads them being unable to block as they cant block standing as they will get hit by deadpool but if they block deadpool then get hit by she-hulk from above as u cant block air attacks crouching in most cases!!

Another easy tip to beat spammers: pick a character with a teleport. So many characters in MvC3 have them and many are specifically created to counter predictable projectile spam.

My tip for beginners: learn how to use your X-Factor. X-Factor is such a powerful tool in MvC3 but it's so tempting and easy to waste.

Some good times to X:
- If you happen to catch both a main character and an assist in a combo, even very early in the match, burn your X-Factor to extend your combo. Assists take huge damage and if you do this right you can potentially kill two characters, or at least the assist, in a single combo.
- If an important character on your team has taken a bad beating and has a lot of red life to recover. X-Factor speeds red life recovery. Don't always think about using X just for offense because if you're dead then your offense is going to pretty much suck by default.
- When you're down to your last character. This one's pretty obvious, but X lasts much longer and has a bigger effect the less characters you have alive. Using it on your 1st character for a simple boost is often a total waste, using it on your last character can change the entire match.

I hate spammers myself, but I usually super jump and get completely in their face. Its either that or spam myself. GO TASKMASTER AND YOUR CHIP-TACULAR ARROWS! (Though they can get stopped by a bunch of kinds of beams...)

Anyway, sometimes if they are in the mood to spam, you can tell that that is exactly what they will do. You can try to pull off a fast special right when they start their next beam by timing it right. Not always the best advice as you will lose a special, and if they block, they can just counter with another of their beams. Just something to think about though.

My MvC3 strategy involves being as irritating as possible. I'll usually put MODOK on point and spam Analysis Cube from behind his impenetrable energy shield. Once I've built up enough Levels of Understanding, I'll send in Sentinel and start the Sentinel Force spam. Then, when they're least expecting it, I'll send in Haggar and throw out the Final Haggar Buster or something. Usually works pretty well.

My advice to newbies is this: If winning is your goal, you need to realize that there is no such thing as "cheap". If you find a move that works, use it. If you discover that your opponent doesn't know how to deal with a certain tactic, spam that tactic to hell and back. Do whatever it takes to win. Haters gonna hate.

This is absolutely true, but there is such a thing as 'lame'. Turtling up with projectile spam isn't cheap, but it is lame as hell.

Personally I just time my Wolverine's slides with their spam and try to get in their face as much as possible. I also have Sentinel as back-up, so if Wolvy fails I can just switch in and spam lasers way better than any other character. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Oh, absolutely. It's just a question of whether or not a player can square with that. When winning is paramount, how you're perceived by your peers is secondary to results.

For the douches fighting as Dante and spamming moves, use Wesker. His special counter move murders.

My usual tactics is...lose the first guy. Dominate with the 2nd or 3rd. (I love losing the first character. Gives them hope)

I say just sell/return the game. I cant stand the bs. The only real way to be prepaired for them is to ALWAYS be specific characters, and thats boring. (I cant stand not knowing who they pick before it starts)
I know Im returning it Teusday. (and getting a game that wont make me rage -.-)

If facing spammers, play Magneto. He has the fastest projectile in the game, if I'm remembering correctly.

Or use somebody who can teleport. There are quite a few. Projectile spammers suck, but there are usually ways around them.

My advice has already been said. Learn how to get the most use out of X-Factor.

My second bit of advice: Find characters you have fun with and just play. It is just a game. That's what I did. My team is far from pro-level (X-23, Super Skrull, Akuma). But if you enjoy them, play them enough, and learn what they can do, chances are you'll beat out all the players who only projectile spam.

Akuma is my best character and I did not know that, even though that is the assist I use. Thank you.
