MvC3.. Who did you think you were gonna main? who did you end up maining?

Before the game was released i was utterly convinced that my team would be "Strider, Dante, Akuma" ... then when i heard strider didn't make the cut (curse you all) i thought i'd end up going with "Dante, Akuma, chris"

When the game was actually released and i had a chance to mess around with the characters for a bit my choice surprised me ...

"X-23, Amaterasu, Wesker" .. and loving it LOL

were any of you surprised with your team picks once you've actually had a chance to experiment?

Went with Ammy, Akuma and Iron Man =P

I bounce around between the characters quite a bit. I suck equally with all of them.

In the beginning my team was going to be "Deadpool, Dante, and Dormmamu", but after trying out all the characters and swapping simple mode off my new team is "X-23, Dante, Super Skrull." And after more experimenting I'm now debating if either Doom or Tron should replace Dante.

I was! I had figured on maining Dante, Deadpool and Wolverine. I ended up going with Dante, Akuma and Dormammu, though I am constantly switching out Dante for Magneto on that team

Aww man. what a good question. I a the biggest Spider-Man fan on this earth (feel free to argue) so i figured my team would be Spidey, Dante, Deadpool. Turns out that once i got taskmaster it's been Taskmaster, Trish, Haggar

In reality: Dante (I surprised myself there), Akuma (inner-changeable with Ryu) and, Hulk (inner-changeable with Haggar).

High Five! We're X-23, Amaterasu buddies! =D I use Chun-Li, Iron Man or Felicia to fill the third slot instead of Wesker though.

Now I use C.Viper, Ryu and Captain america, though I tend to switch out for deadpool, X-23 and Akuma. I also started practicing with Zero and Chun-li

Still keep hulk, dante and ryu as a reserve though

EDIT The Sequel: I also love using Tron, but mostly because she's an anti-Hulk, and the fact that her music has probably the most catchy intro in the history of anything.

I initially thought my main would be Amatarasu, Zero, and Felecia. I liked the idea of playing as a wolf god, i liked Mega Man Zero, and i like catgirls.

My final main was Amatarasu, Dante, and Spencer. Felecia's voice acting and scripted lines were pure fucking torture, and sadly Zero was in his Mega Man X appearance, which i found kind of weird. I kept using Amatarasu, but found Dante's style was more my speed and that Spencer would make good cannon fodder. I don't own the game and could only play a demo at a store display. Had i been at home, i probably would have kept using Felecia after muting the TV.

yeah, ammy was WAAAAAY too good to turn down .. especially since i'm a DMC fan .. manually switching weapons mid battle to ensue eppic combos was almost second nature since i lost months and months of my life to dmc3 lol

ONE thing i noticed though ..... is it just me? or has anyone else spotted that most DMC fans who thought they were gonna have dante as one of their team, ended up picking someone else ... while dmc haters and those who didn't really give a damn about dante or the dmc series have him as a full time member lol ... i have 3 friends that did that XD ... me including

X is is just raw speed, no teleports (i LOVE that ... manually getting around at speeds has always been my thing. Z.O.E ) so even tho she's a chick ... she made the cut lol (yeah it sounds weird but this is the first ever time i'm maining a girl in a fighting game lol)

capcom did chun li some real justice in this game, her combos never seem to end lol .. and as for wesker .. i'm getting the hang of him and he definitely has potential ... but i haven't figured out whether he's rushdown, mixup or counter based ..

i never really liked felecia ... not just because she's annoying ... i mean .... who the fuck shoots their cat litter at you as an ultra?????? .... wtf man .. just wtf

I main them, but I also use other teams as well. This game is so stupid easy than you can learn to use anyone with a fraction of the effort it takes to learn characters in deeper games such as Blazblue.

...wait... seriously? All i ever noticed was that it's a girl with cat ears who goes into combat naked but who has white pubes that give an illusion of clothing. But she shoots cat litter? Yep... she's a Capcom character alright.

I was imagining Chris, Chun-Li, and Dante. What I ended up with was Amaterasu, Dante, and Morrigan.

I've been toying around with my other two characters, but Zero is a constant. I connected instantly with Zero's style (having played the Megaman X series through an unhealthy number of times), though I wish his specials were more consistent.

Sure, I find Wolverine to be better, but I played the shit out of Wolverine in MvC2.

Currently, I'm running around with Zero, Iron Man and a random 3rd Character.
I fucking hate Wesker's fighting style, and I hate his character in general. No Felicia since I already have a big "in your face" melee expert (and she creeps me out...damn furry).
Amaterasu is so overplayed I honestly can't stand looking at her anymore (and I liked Okami. A lot.)

The 3rd character might be a trapper or "Land denial" character like Trish, Spiderman or M.O.D.O.C., or I might just lame out and fill out "Team Robo" with Sentinel.

Before it was released...I didn't care about anyone.
Now that it's out..only one from MvC2 stayed in my team...Tron Bonne.
So it's... ___,Spencer(2nd),Tron Bonne(3rd)
I'm still finding a 3rd to use.

X-23 kind of reminds me of Ibuki in that she's fast, and almost all of her attacks plunge her face-first towards her opponent.

I knew even before the game was released that I would use Ammy, I studied all of her moves whenever I saw a gameplay video of her, and as luck would have it I really like her play-style anyway. I'm currently trying to incorporate her sword moves into my combos, I've already got the mirror and beads down.
