MW2 DLC is broken

What a mess.

First IW basically abandons the platform they started on.(large group of people who probably never buy another IW/activision product)
Then millions of new players fall for the hype of this game.(people you want to keep around to buy your next product)
Then there are all the glitches, bugs, exploits and game-breaking online problems.(not the best way to keep people)
Now the DLC doesn't work because they failed to properly patch the game before the DLC release, a problem they're trying to blame Microsoft for.(their game, their patch, not Microsoft's fault that the patch isn't finished)

This is all just a simple observation, hell, at this point I'm not really surprised if MW2's servers go offline when the next CoD game is released.

The reason it's broke is because in their infinite wisdom IW/activision have released the DLC before patching the game to be able to use it.
They obviously didn't like the tried and true way of releasing a patch prior to the DLC release, or including the patch in the DLC.
Developers seem to be getting really stupid, EA/BW "epic fail" backlash yesterday and now IW/activision face palm here. And both are/were so avoidable.

Wow... that's pretty damn stupid alright.

Nothing beats Ubisoft's wonderful DRM 'no-one can play the game' fiasco though.

I think you mean 'no-one-can-play-the-game-except-the-people-the-DRM-is-supposed-to-stop-in-the-first-place'. That's real fucking effective.

Anyway, if I read that article correctly, it's MS's fault for not releasing the patch they were given, but who fucking knows?

I know... Ubisoft's anti-piracy policy benefits the pirates. That makes sense.

Thankfully, My Xbox 360 is my "backup system". I was gonna get the maps when it becomes a deal of the week. Which mostly will be in 6 months give or take. I'll bet the maps won't be fixed by then.

Meh, i'm not getting the DLC anyway, and barely play MW2 either, so it doesn't really affect me. It was good for a giggle when I logged in on live and a large portion of my friends were whining about it not working though. I have no idea why they got it anyway, the maps look terrible, and it's way overpirced, right; now to pick up my flame shield, because I know someone's possibly going to want to most have a word with me now.

Also a couple of days ago I wanted to play with a friend and it continuously put us in different games, so we played Left 4 Dead instead. Valve is always there for you.
And finally, today, I get my MW2 running, take some time to laugh at the $15 map pack that I'm never going to pay for, and then realise I can't play online.
Good thing nobody was borrowing my GTA IV...
