MW2 is getting a patch. In other news, Satan just installed new central heating.

What I find most interesting here is Bowling's tweet about One Man Army. 'We fought that fight and lost'.

It's refreshing to see someone from Infinity Ward (even in some roundabout way) admitting they fucked things up with MW2 and its severe balance issues. I still think one little balance patch fixing OMA, Commando and a couple of other things would have made MW2 by far the best COD ever released, but as evidenced here, that is never going to happen... but hey, we all knew that already.

I'm still going to buy MW3 for the campaign, but it'll take a lot to defeat peoples' scepticism about the multiplayer. Still, it's nice that they're finally fixing the rock glitch on Fuel a year later :D

Well, since most people moved on, now it's actually safe to fix the game so no one notices.

Logic.

It's awesome.

At last we can see they are caring for the game and not just admitting they're old and ignoring the game

The speed at which this patch is enforced is second to none! You can't ask for better support than this!

That map pack has been out for how long now? And they have only just gone "maybe we need to fix that thing with the rock? .... Yeah lets fix that shit!", these reaction times are dire! A month would have been bad but months after another COD title is released, is almost pointless.

I thought they would have been making MW3 by now, which by my guess will outsell MW2 and black ops by a massive margin!

As long as Stopping Power exists, the guns will continue to remain unbalanced. Whose good idea was it to add a perk that makes M16's 1-burst kill at any range?

Still, nice to hear they're still looking at ways to improve the game, even if it's at a rather sluggish pace.

I'm glad I just bought MW2 and haven't played online yet. The reason why is mostly because of the balance issues.

Thank's guys!

You can bet your drunk yellow butt it will! Every COD sells more than the last.

Maybe it will be amazing? Who knows.

Unless it fixes the horrendous quick-scoping problem i'm probably not going to go back online.

I enjoyed Modern Warfare 2's online more than Black Ops' but quick-scoping was the last draw for me.

Fix the gun balance issues too and I'll actualyl consider playing it.
It's not fun when everyone either uses the Intervention (Which is overpowered without QSing. Any hit above the waist with it will get an insta-kill. Every other Sniper, even the .50 Cal, will have to get a headshot to instakill.) or the FAMAS.
Or noob-tubes.
Fix all them, and I might actually play it.

All problems MW2 has, and Black Ops has for that matter, could have been found by having a simple beta.

And don't give me the whole "beta's are too expensive" bullshit. This is Call of Duty, who's 2 recent installments made 1 billion US dollars each. I think you can put a little to the side for a beta for the next game.

World At War had a beta.

I don't see the MP40 being removed.

Yeah, sure, some of the problems are clearly noticeable at first glance, but some take time to appear. The beta wouldn't help much if it doesn't give all access to everything there is in the full game.

And they're not going to do that.

True, but its still better then nothing. Better to find some of those problems at first, and fix them before release then to release the game, find the problems, then make a news post about how hard it is to fix them.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome Black Ops is.

But... yeah... you're right. Probably.

For me Black Ops is the most balanced than any Call of Duty game I've seen since COD4, but the problem with it is spawns. And the gameplay hasn't changed at all since the very first Modern Warfare. At this stage I think it's pointless to buy the next MW as it will be the exact same as before and a complete waste of money.

The reason for this patch is because so many players have left Black Ops and went back to Modern Warfare 2. Though as you guys have said it's a bit late doing it now when the map pack has been out since...what like May last year wasn't it?

Well, a BETA with the starting weapons would get rid of some problems. Most of the time, the starting weapons and perks are the ones with balance issues. Intervention, .50 cal, Famas, COD4 M16, stopping power.

They have a lesson to learn: 3 round burst weapons are ALWAYS overpowered because that's the number of bullets it takes to kill with Stopping Power. And Black Ops M16, while being a step forward, should have been automatic like in the campaign.

Such a shame, I really liked MW2 and still do prefer it over B Ops, but way too many people have moved on for this patch to be relevant at all and in a few more months when the next CoD is out MW2 will take an even further back position on the no one plays bus.

Wha? Why would they patch this game..? It's like patching Fifa or NHL 2009 when the 2011 version is out.

Well, hooray for the ... Holy crap 37,875 people are playing right now!? Ok, I guess it's not dead.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
its no wonder that patches for mw2 were few and far between, its not like the dev house was gutted after the launch of the game so there werent exactly alot of people around to fix the issues and activision would rather throw out over priced map packs then fix things
