Man, and I thought I couldn't feel any better about holding onto my cash for BC2... You live and learn.

Coincidentally, Bc2 is releasing 2 new maps (2 new versions of current maps to be perfectly honest, but nonetheless) for free. Excuse me while I laugh.

That's something -I- would say (in fact, did say in my blog), and you have almost exactly one of my alias (JohnMann).

...Are we just unaware and this is some time paradox or something?

I'm not really concerned about it because me and a few friends will be splitting the price and then downloading it on each others hard drives. I'll only end up paying like $3. Unfortunately, the two old maps (Crash and Overgrown) weren't really very good (IMO), couldn't they have given us Broadcast or Vacant (two of my favorites).
Those will be in another, 59 dollar pack. : )

the logic behind buying these packs has completely flew over my head.

You wanted MW2, there you go. Eat your 15 dollar reused maps that would have been free with dedicated servers. It's not everyday you get to see a company completely alienate EVERYONE that liked their games, they already lost people before the game even came out, this will turn off some more, good luck selling your next game guys! But then again, the sheeple, oh the sheeple!!

Who knows, maybe?
Though John is my real name, no alias

5 maps, $20 Aus dollars. $4 per map. Ok, so not the same kind of value you get from the base game, but if you're a diehard MW2 MP player add up all the time you're going to spend on that map and ask yourself whether that's a fair price. Obviously this is a personal calculation. Perhaps you won't like the new maps (or don't like the old ones). Maybe you're a bit poor right now. Maybe you aren't into your 7th prestige. Maybe you aren't afraid to see the "time played" stat because the number you see there isn't yet depressing.

What I'm trying to say is, customers spend what they think a product is worth. If they don't think it's worth it they won't buy it. All the rest is bunk and hot air. Personally, $20 is too much for the time I spend online with this game; LANs are more my thing. When the price drops, maybe. I just feel sorry for the ones who play so much that this is basically required.

PS: The apartment level sounds sweet. Scrambler, oh yeah!

1200 MSP for one map pack?

You make some shitty maps for the original game, cut and paste two from CoD4 for your mappack and only add three new ones?

You can get every Gears of War 2 map pack for that price, and that includes a whole new singleplayer chapter.

You have got to be joking, Activision. For 400 more points, you could get a GTAIV expansion, which is about 20-40 hours worth of gameplay if you're freaking rushing through it.

And the sad part is that millions will buy it.

I wonder if we'll have another "boycott" where everyone just buys it anyway becuase they have no willpower.

HAHAHA your directionless rage humors me!
The pack will have more than just maps it will have new titles/emblems and associated challenges, bring back some old guns (Skorpion and the Dragunov) and will add a 6th special ops pack (Foxtrot) so you are getting plenty for $15.

I don't think we should be mad at IW, they made the game, and were told to just make some new maps, and probably when said "we don't know what else to do" Activision said with it's evil grin "let's do what Nintendo does, repackage and re-sell old maps", and then wiped the baby's blood from around it's evil, smiling lips.

Activision has become a true demon recently, after axing the 2 guys who had a big part in making MW2 a strong game, they pull this shit.

I'm just going to wait for them to finally lower the price when they realize that at $15 for 3 new maps and 2 remade old ones is NOT worth it. They need to lower that price by 66% before anyone will consider buying them, but with the evil that Activision has been doing, I say they add another 10 new maps to the 5 they have now and charge little to nothing, they've made enough selling the game, they should suck up the loss and get their fans back before we head to the Medal of Honor series (who if you haven't heard, have been working on their own game set in modern warfare) for our games and leave Activision rubbing their tummies hoping for more newborn infants to feed upon

Source please. I've not read/heard anything stating the pack has anything but the 5 maps.

I will end up getting I bet because my friends will. I don't really care for Overgrown or Crash, specially crash.

You know, Gears of War 2's map pack gave me over 15 maps and a deleted scene for 20 bucks if I'm not mistaken. But really, was this a big surprise? Activision is about making money, and the thing is people are going to buy it anyway. The only reason they want fans is to have people give them money. I hope this smacks them upside the head and makes them realize that people don't want to pay this much. But who am I kidding. People are still going to buy it, Activision will make more money, and they'll make Modern Warfare 3 and send it out for 200 dollars and they'll still sell billions of copies.
