MW2 on PC(From someone who has bought it and is playing it)

Oh well maybe one day companies will learn to listen when thousands of people say the same thing.

Except its only 1000s of people that are saying the same thing. The rest (millions) are singing its praises and wacking off to it on the console. IW just doesn't care about the small population that is PC and tailors the game to the console.

Honestly I don't care, I'm not getting the game I just don't have the cash for a game that looked fun but overall is getting such mixed reviews that I'd rather wait for the dust to settle and buy it when it's much...much cheaper.

In anycase I've got Borderlands and Team Fortress 2 for multiplayer and I'm eying up Ratchet and Clank for serious single player fun so I'm set.

Funny that both multiplayer games I listed have companies that hear the players and actually work to better the game instead of ignoring them.

I had some sympathy for PC gamers before - it seemed like a truly dick move by Infinity Ward, and one that I didn't agree with at all. Yet after reading the responses to this, and other threads, my sympathy has vanished - you people really need to grow up and give up the pathetic elitism because you make all PC gamers look bad...

. They are a company . Surprisingly enough IW create video-games to make money. I had to laugh at the idiot above that stated they were "lazy" for not putting in a large amount of extra work for "the same profit margin". I'm sure I don't have to explain what's wrong with thar sentence.

. Secondarily, the sheer elitism. Now this has always been an issue, but on this thread it's reached ridiculous, and frankly, pathetic levels. Your playing on a PC, I play on a console - so what? Does that somehow make you 1000 times more intelligent than me? (exaggerated but I have seen similar claims).

It's a system of choice, and yes it primarily uses dedicated servers and mods. But the sheer amount of moaning and whining is ridiculous - there is a petition, there are a million threads about this; and yet still you whine. Now, I would be fine if you whined about the game, but the fact many are moaning about an equal system with consoles as though they deserve more because of their system of choice (despite the extremely high levels of piracy of CoD4) is ridiculous.

Let me ask you this. If this forum was getting swamped by all positive comments on Modern Warfare 2...would you complain?

I don't much care for this vibe that people who think the game is good are somehow "superior" to the people who complain. Everyone has a right to their opinion and quite frankly...tough shit if you don't want to hear the negative as well as the positive. In this case, the negative is quite severe, thus people will complain more about it.

I'm a PC and Console Gamer. When I heard the news about MW2 I was upset as well. Then I went out and bought it for my Xbox 360.

Infinity Ward will do what they want, regardless of any amount of bitching even the most highly respected game journalist can crank out, so I highly doubt they care about what you think.

This is the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott all over again, except more platform related racism being thrown around.

Oh yeah, and last I checked, the L4D2 boycott did absolutely bloody nothing.

Boy am I getting tired of this. The L4D2 boycott accomplished quite a bit. Valve cared enough to fly the creators of the boycott to the studio, show them the game, and prove to them that Left 4 Dead 2 wasn't simply a quick cash-in. From the boycott creator himself:

"The boycott has served its purpose and it is now up to you all as individuals to decide what is right for you," writes boycott co-founder Walking_Dead in a follow up. "As a collective we have done more than achieve a few goals, we have paved the way for Developer-Community relations in the future. No matter what the press or other gamers say, we have made an indelible mark upon the future of this industry. You should all be proud, we certainly are."

The goals were met, therefore the boycott was successful. All we've gotten from Infinity Ward thus far is blatant lying and an inferior multiplayer experience than what is expected on the PC.

I'll say this to any developer if you don't give us the features that have become the standard for pc games well then fuck off and drop support for the pc.

Sure it'll sting for a while but maybe it'd work out better for us in the end with other dev's stepping up to cater for us.

I'll admit i never cared for modern warfare 2 from the get go but the condescending attitude of the dev's in the gamestop q&a really pissed me off.

Obviously people haven't seen the piracy rates that the PC version of the orignal game has. The dedicated servers actually help push this as the pirates create their own servers for the pirated versions of the game to be played on. (Don't believe me? type 'skulptura Call of duty 4' into mininova and see yourself.)

IW are a business that needs to make money, with the amount of care that has gone into the actual game they should have the right to implement systems that will ensure that people are paying them for this quality.

Yeah, I saw the interview with Gabe Newell. I would like to correct and clarify: The boycott did absolutely bloody nothing to change the development of L4D2 at all. The boycott was to protect Left 4 Dead 1 users from being scammed out of another 60 bucks one year later for a Left 4 Dead 1.5.

The way it seems now, the only thing that's changed is that all the boycotters couldn't care less once they'd played it. So it's as if there was no reason for a boycott in the first place.

I have to disagree with the OP's post about Multiplayer, and no im not a console fanboy, I am PC gamer, and I was annoyed when IW said there would be no Dedi's but the matchmaking isnt bad, ok so sometimes you get match up to a party full of clanners, but some arnt that good (I was in two games like that with two seperate clans and my public team owned them xD).

Multiplayer is FUN I Cant remember the last time I had fun like this, yes yes, Dedi servers would be nice. But, it isnt all that bad. Try it out and make your own opinion people And as far as lag goes, I got some maybe in one game, other than that Green pings all around and very rare did someone lag.

And as far as spec ops goes. All it is, is rehashed missions from MW2 (and a few others I think AC130 mission - it is CO-OP ONLY) but with time trials/survival/etc.
