MW2 then ME2. Whats next?

So the escapist likes to go through trends of blowing up with hype on certain video games. Every other post from october to december was about Modern Warfare 2 and all the stuff surrounding it. Lately it has all been about ME2 and everyone complaining about more Mass Effect and all the hype surrounding it. So whats the next game to get all the hype and annoy everyone on the forums that really doesn't care too much about it?

I would have said the new Final Fantasy but it seems like its getting pretty close to release and its staying on the DL. I really can't think of any upcoming games that will clog up the forums like crazy but I know it will come eventually. So, what is that next game to clog the forums?

Dumb hype is just part of the Games industry. The more intelligent and competent of us know to ignore this and form our own opinions.

When in doubt, though, never under-estimate the usefulness of a reasonable amount of cynicism and taking released information about a to-be-released game with a grain of salt or two.

Give it a chance. It still has two months to go yet.
And there will be build up for it about 2 weeks before it, mostly on how it's going to suck, probably as the extreme anti-JRPG haters will come out.

Not that I'll care, seeing as I've pre-ordered it and still have that trailer bouncing around my mind like a baby that's had too much sugar.

I doubt Bioshock 2 will be that crazy on this forum as it seems like the general consensus here is it is a bit overrated. Bioshock was a good game but I just don't see the 2nd getting that much hype here.

Even after it is out people who hate JRPG's will be saying it "sucks" even though they never played it.

It'll stick around a week after the game is released and then boil over, after that there will be a wave of threads after. But since it's mostly single player there isn't going to be as many "this gun is overpowered" or "new glitch found threads"

You are right though, its very annoying when people jump on the new game bandwagon.

Can someone please tell me why Mass Effect is such a big deal?

I don't understand why it is regarded as highly as it is. YES. Some parts were very fun and mysterious. YES. The biotic abilities we badass. But still, I thought it was a pretty less-than-average game.
