Bring out the character's depth some more, give it a slightly more intriguing plot than the games, and get a decent director (I'd pick Christopher Nolan of The Dark Knight fame) and I'd certainly watch it.

The actor spoke with the NYPost about why he was asked to play Soap in Modern Warfare 2.
Hmm...maybe its because he voiced him in the first game. But, of course, that's just a thought ;).
Except that Soap didn't talk in the first one? Just a thought ;)
I could have sworn I remember a few lines? Regardless, McKidd did do sound effects for Soap in the first game, and it doesn't seem like there's much of a reason to switch actors for the second.

I am pretty peeved that no where in this entire editorial was Dog Soldiers mentioned which is to this day one of the greatest Werewolf films ever commited to the medium of celluloid!

Oh and if you question relevance Mckidd was the main hero!

I like him I reckon he would make a great hero! (Again!)

Why would you want Nolan? Hes not really an action director.

I've got to say though, and I really didn't like MW2, that the idea is appealing. I'd kinda like to see a completely batshit crazy alternate universe war movie.....The idea of a russian invasion into america.....I'd like to see it.
It'll still be terrible of course. Maybe I just watched Red Dawn too often as a kid.

If Mckidd grows a beard of sorts, and buzzcuts his hair, and finally dyes it brown, than maybe. But otherwise, I'd go for someone who looks more like MacTavish.

But a Modern Warfare movie would be good, I suppose. But I guess it would suffer the same fate the Halo movie did.

If it does make it I will probably watch it just cause I like the games.... If they mess it up real bad I'll loose a little respect though. That would be just plain sad. I guess I wouldn't be excited about it but I would definitely watch it.

I feel like playing the credits in MW1 just to see if he was mentioned...

Sounds pretty good. Modern Warfare has a lot of cinematic potential. Worst case scenario, the terrible movie causes the game developers to get money, and make there next game better.

I guess for the same reason that people would see Gordon Freeman as ruined if he talked: we'd gotten to thinking of him as us. Not that I mind (mohawk aside) how Soap turned out in this.
That's different!

We all know Gordon Freeman would crack the earth in two with a whisper!

...But valid point otherwise.
Oh my god. Could it mean that Gordon Freeman is really the Black Bolt?

When it comes to highly popular games, then comes the highly popular merchandise and variables. I honestly can't see Call of Duty becoming a movie, i mean alot of the games borrowed, or rather were inspired by other movies. For example, that bathroom in the Gulag mission seemed like the setting straight out of The Rock.

I will watch it if, and only if, Russia/Russians are not the enemy. I am so tired of the demonization of Russia in media, especially in this day and age.
Well then you probably wouldn't watch it considering the enemies are Russians throughout the game.

I think a MW movie, like any video game movie, if done right would be pretty cool. I'd probably go see it.

Since IW and Activision will be wanting to milk every last bit of money from the franchise a film is unavoidable. I imagine it'll be farly good too, all it needs to be is a generic war action movie and any slightly competent director can pull something like that together.

His only crime (Questionable hairstyle aside) is sounding too much like Christopher Eccleston. I thought I was rolling with the eighth doctor for the first couple of missions..
Isn't Eccleston the ninth doctor?

I always thought that call of duty was kinda, you know, based on action movies so they can not really make it possible. I mean, that you could take away the call of duty name and people will not notice the difference in quality or plot (if they don't vouch to stay with the Soap/price story.)
