Oh, god no. I didn't do any of these; I barely have the artistic skill to draw a house, much less any of these.

Well, anyway... actaully, no, I will make an edit to my comment. It depends on the girl you ask. I was just thinking about this but one day a girl came up to my computer which at the time had a background of Ivy in her leather string outfit that should never have passed the censors fighting against Cassandra in one panel, against Seung-Mina in another, and finally against her father Cervantes in the last while saying fem fatale over it (dont ask why i thought this was cool, it wasnt for the outfit.)

Anyway, she said to me, "wow, where did you find a Soul calibur sight that had this kinda stuff on it" and it boggled my mind cause there was nothing there saying it was soul calibur.

So a few girls may ask you why you like the anime witchblade over the comic, or ask which Bleach girl is your favorite.

From a girls perspective. I don't mind. My on and off again boyfriend has similar backgrounds on his laptop and I'll sit there and watch them rotate through. My backgrounds on my computer are usually just photos I've taken though sometimes I'll throw in an anime picture til I get bored of it. It really depends on the girl.

Edit: Also, I am so stealing some of those backgrounds once I get back home on my computer.

You pretty much summed up my answer as well. I actually save pics like that for my man and a couple of male friends. My backgrounds often feature half naked men, so fair is fair.

I also saved some of the pics. The Witchblade ones were pretty cool.

Well most people in college probably don't like anime. And a girl seeing that would most likely think, "Oh he thinks cartoons are hot....wow."

But you might be lucky to have a bisexual girl, who likes anime enter your room! But personally, every girl I know, minus 1, would find that desktop a bit creepy.

While it is TRUE that she is a woman in relationship, her opinion is still better valued (I reckon) than a guy's.
Besides, it doesn't cause braindamage to be in a relationship. So while she IS in a relationship, she is still an individual, with 'she' underlined.

The problem is all of those edging more toward sexual eye candy and less "I like this anime show."

Maybe try finding some backgrounds for those shows or series, but with less of the focus on girls in skimpy outfigts and big boobs. If it's going to be eye candy, maybe make a bit more tasteful and less raunchy at least. More cute and less "ZOMG hawt wizard mutant babez!" Girls tend to not like that kind of stuff. No huge boobs, stuff like that. Maybe have it have some other significant appeal other then the girl, you know?

Personally, I have no problem with those backgrounds. Judgmental people really get on my nerves. Maybe even keeping those backgrounds if you really like them would be a good idea, show your true interests and don't be ashamed of them. Maybe you won't have the girls flooding to you, but at least when you find one, she will accept you for who you are. I mean, lot of my backgrounds are very odd.. I have backgrounds with full nudity in them. Those said backgrounds also have giant stone eyeballs shooting lasers, floating telephones, and flaming giraffes. So I might be worse of then you .

Yeah dude, that's a little creepy. Look at them, half naked... sorry, three quarter naked anime girls in weird poses, not what girls wanna see. Better than having three quarter naked anime guys though, just try and increase clothing and decrease anime and you should be good. I used the Ctrl+Alt+Del backgrounds. They're pretty awesome and not creepy. Maybe get a few of your non-anime, non-pervy shows and use them. Make sure they're good shows too.
