Well, what's changed lately?

Has something happened to him to bring about this personality shift, or is the guy just a tool?

Has he realised latent sexual feelings which confuse him?

More info is needed.

People don't change for no reason at all, something's up. Talk to him about it; ask him what's with this sudden behavior change. If you can't get a straight answer out of him then abandon his sorry ass, the asshole.

If something doesn't seem apparent, ask him if anything is bothering him. If that doesn't work, he could just be a douche, in which case dump his ass. There are plenty of people that treat other friends civilly.

I don't think he's your best friend if he treats you like shit. If your friend turns into an asshole, then that's what he is. He can't be your friend and be a pain in your rightly behind at once.

Call him on it then. You've been friends with him for that long that you shouldn't have to put up with any crap from him unless you want to.

You've mentioned you have other friends, so it's not like you spend all your time with the guy anyway.

Sometimes people have to be shown they're out of line or they'll keep getting worse.

usually talking to them helps so tell him to stop being such a pain in the arse (in a nice way). if he is a friend, he will listen

You'll never keep all your friends all your life. So know when to move on. Don't stay friends with someone out of habit. By all means be there for him if he really needs you, but you need to hang out with your other friends more until he shows you a better reason to stay his friend.

Then what is this thread for? This person sounds like he's a huge douche to you, so... stop hanging out with him. Solved.

That's what I'm saying. Move on. I've had at least 5 best friends in my lifetime (judging by your spelling, I'm guessing I'm probably a lot older than you). But don't stay friends with someone out of a misguided sense of loyalty. Friendships are a relationship. And like all relationships, sometimes when they don't work out, you break up.

Maybe he's mad that you can't spell

I think you should find out if anything's bothering him, or maybe his sense of humor has become more cynical recently? I think black humor is rather hilarious...

Which your are. I know this guy and I know his friend...and his friend is one of the best guys in the world. It's HIM who is treating his friend like shit.
