I don't let my dog lick my mouth anywhere else on the face fine but not the mouth...not the nostrils either but she's like a ninja when it comes to them.

I dont mind.... my brother has a german shepard and so does my girlfriend, they lick me a lot... it's not overly gross unless they get in my mouth... thats rather gross... but other than that I dont see a problem with it...

and if you kiss your dog on the head that's just fine too...

I let my dog like my face sometimes, but I try to not let him lick my mouth because that is a little gross to me. My dog for some reason though really likes to lick my knees.

I don't see him as much anymore since I am at a university now...

My dog licks my face. They do that. You aren't a freak for taking it as a sign of affection.

Meh. A dog's mouth has less bacteria than a humans.

Edited for grammar.
That might be true, but a typical Human doesn't lick their gentials +1 times a day while most dogs do. The fact is that unless you watch your dog all the time and check everything they eat, you'll never know what they've been putting in or on their mouths. Because of this kissing a dog is a very stupid thing, might not be completely deadly, but I wouldn't be suprised if you're immunse system is wondering why oddly large traces of E. Coli are being transmitted oraly.

Anyway, the number of Bacteria doesn't matter as much as the species of bacteria. The avaerage human has 1,000,000,000,000 bacteria on their skin and we obviously aren't being killed by those. Bacteria are a very diverse Kingdom, I hate how everyone assumes all bacteria are crazy killer germs, some species are quite helpful. It comes down to the species more often than not.

Just because a dog mouth has less bacteria than a human mouth (which I'm not even sure about) doesn't mean that kissing a dog is a smart move.
This. A thousand times this. I'm so sick and tired of people arguing that there are less bateria in a dog's mouth. I can lick my finger right now and be just fine, but I wouldn't do that if I had just poked it up my ass.

Or a less disgusting example: I can eat as much yoghurt as I like, but that doesn't mean I'll be fine if I ingest just a tiny bit of the tubercolosis-bacteria.

Edit: For the record, as far as I recall, being bitten by a human is actually rather dangerous.
Agree!

Dog germs generally aren't harmful to humans but it also depends on what the dog has recently done. If your dogs recently licked his crotch or ass, recently eaten his own feces, garbage or dead animal he's going to have a mouth full of germs that aren't harmful to him but can quite easily make you sick. Even if said germs don't make you sick, your friends still have a legit reason to think that's gross.

Sort of like not wanting to shake someones hand who just went to the bathroom and didn't wash. Likely you won't get sick from it but it's still understandable you might find it gross.

Personally I don't find it disgusting but i don't really like anything touching my face.

I don't mind dogs licking my hands or legs. Once one licks my face I get kinda agitated. Mainly because I just smell their spit for a good while after the fact. However, my sister can't get enough of her dog licking her.

I don't but then I'm the kind of person who feels like my hand is covered in filth after a handshake.

That being said I don't mind if other people do it.
