My Dragon Age Party

Well, I'm extremely indecisive, and as such am asking you guys for help.
I know I can change it, but I'd like a group to use consistently to keep levels even.

I'm a level 6 Mage, and my choices are:

Sten
Leliana
Alistair
Morrigan
and Derg, my dog.


Can the Escapist help me?

EDIT: I would take Allistar, Sten, and the Dog, then switch out the Dog later on. (For Wynne or Oghren)

Just to tell you, the party members you don't use level up as well, so you're sorted.

I went with Leliana, Alistair, and Morrigan, but after you get Wynne in the Mage's tower, she's much more useful in terms of healing.

Just make sure to keep a rogue handy for all the loots. If you yourself are a rouge, maybe Sten for another tank, or Morrigan for an extra damage dealer.

EDIT: Whoops, you're a mage. Well, go Arcane Warrior, first of all. That helps.

Morrigan would heal/dps and Shale would tank and Allistar would dps but I gave him taunt aswell when Shale is below 50%

I got the underwear one but the most disturbing is his flirting with Wynne. Gross....and hilarious.

Well i play a duel-weild warrior so i have myself, Oghren, Zevran (for locks and the hilarious dwarf/elf banter) and Wynne for healing, i know Morrigan can heal but you dont need to tell Wynne to heal your party.

Besides, Morrigan's a *****.

Well I'm with Morrigan, Leliana and Shale and I still find it pretty hard even on normal difficulty.

I prefer the conversations between him and Zevran because its a throwback to Lord of The Rings,

"Hello, my stocky little friend!"
"Huh. you got small breats for a gal."
"This is where we begin the typical dawrf/elf rivalry, yes?"
"Nahhh."

If you want to focus your mage on being a healer, then you can ignore the other mages. Or, you can go full on mage warfare with one tank by having Morrigan, yourself and Wynne.

It's pretty much a must to have one of your party members as a healing mage. Once you've sorted out who that will be, then you can decide your style, be it ranged warfare, melee, magic, or a healthy mix of all 3. I have rolled the following parties:

1. I was a primal mage, with Wynne, Alistair and Shale.
2. I was an archer rogue, with Morrigan, Sten and Dog, whom I traded for the secret character near the end .
3. I am currently a dual wield warrior, with Leilana, Wynne and Oghren.

All three were fun, but my current setup, #3, is the easiest by far.

I played as a rogue with two weapons and used Sten,Alistair and Morrigan.

I used sten as a walking tank taking a lot of damage and dealing out a lot with two handed weapons.I gave alistair with a sword and shield to cover my back while i snuck around the battlefield.Then Morrigan to give status change magic (etc cone of cold) and healer.It worked pretty well.

Also i found these characters to be the most fun when wandering around.

I'd say skip morrigan, but thats just because I hate that orochimaru wannabe... >_<

In all seriousness, EASIEST party would be Mage, Morrigan, Wynne, and Shale. I didn't say best or most rounded, but that would definitely put the game on easy mode.

For a serious kind of Party, go for Leliana to open things, and keep her with a bow, second specialization ranger because its really the only place to go. Wynne should be a part of any team, not to mention, Wynne is Win. If you are going Arcane Warrior, then you can use another damager. I personally like throwing sten into the mix, because he is halarious, especially during the fade and at the end of the game. Sten was promised cake!

Don't worry aboot leveling evenly, experience is distributed to all part member whether you use them or not. Get Shale and Wynne, and use Leliana for your rogue.

There was another great moment where he propostitioned my male Grey Warden, thinking he was a lady, then falling over and passing out.
