This piece of strategy awesomeness, unlike SC2, the equivalent of MW2 in my mind, is Bliztkrieg. The second one has improved graphics, but many call this one more challenging.
Do we really have to start this?
OT: Battlefield 1942 and Day of Defeat, the second one is mainly nostalgic value.
RTS-wise, Company of Heroes and Men of War.
I was just saying what I thought, I may be wrong.

Hm? Explain.
Well, both SC2 and MW2 have 2 in their names, HURRR...
Seriously, both will have great succes, thus alot of people will try them, including those that never played a game in their life, and they will all spawn a general stupidity in the way people think of their particular genrel; speaking only about rts, let's face it , starcraft 2 is not the most strategic game out there, you just send units to fight and micromanage the movements. Blitzkrieg and a ton of other RTS have alot more stuff like weak points to units, limited ammo to units, artillery, and I could go on. Starcraft 2 is fun, but not as complicated as Blizkrieg,so many will have no ideea about other good games, or compare other good games to SC2 as if they were something weird and not just at another level of strategic options.
