Im making my first Call of Duty black ops commentary for youtube and Ive overcome the hardest part (getting a clip and figuring out how camtasia works) so now I was wondering, what do you think would be a good topic to talk about? The game is about 11 minutes long.
So give me your suggestions on what I should talk about.

Well I don't watch commentaries anymore but when I did I much preferred hearing a discussion about the game and not a random thought about life. Talk about the game, guns and maps you like to use, stuff you would like to hear about in a commentary.

This, it's honestly kind of a put off when someone spends half the match talking about something completely different. For a first vid though, start with an introduction, tell your audience who you are and what your goals for the show are, then dive right in to the meat and potatoes.

I would not follow that advice if I were you. At this point everyone is doing commentaries, really raising the bar for what you need to do to get noticed. You need some kind of hook, and just talking about the gameplay period isn't going to help. I'm not aying you should avoid the gameplay all together, but try to bring something different to the table, be it editing, jokes, or your personality.

Try and get a feel for it first. When I did my first commentary for a game it was insanely awkward, but it's pretty natural at this point. For your first few videos, try and get a feel for things. At this point, it doesn't matter how badly you do because you're starting off from square one. As you hit your stride, try to cultivate what you and those who follow you think makes you great.
