Question: Can you maybe do something to adress the general apathy present in your proposal; and as such, the minds of your audience? Because while it's a lovely speech, I'm not really inspired or convinced.
I find I'm in the same situation as this guy.

You've written a lovely speech and I'm sure if it was read out to a crowd of cheering supporters it would have a much better effect on me, I'm not particularly bothered.

Over this week I've seen numerous boycott threads and its at a point where I may as well be on /b/ looking at people asking the members to raid a Facebook profile. We aren't an army of boycotters standing by for orders, we're gamers. I have a number of titles out this year that I will be getting and that I hope to be getting. I have games that I want, not games that are simple teases.

No, I won't be boycotting. I will feel united to my gaming brethren because I will be gaming and you will not. Have fun with your boycott, I wouldn't hold your breath on it doing much.

Sorry, your wish for us to unite was put off for me by the massive wall of text.
You really need to sum this up in either concise points at the end, I.e:

A:

B:

C:

Or use, you know, the topic to tell what you want us to know.
Fine, call me lazy, but the average person is. So cheers.

See, I really don't like when someone comes up trying to be "TEH VOICE OF TEH PEOPOLZ!" on the matter of video games. I really hate it when someone comes up and says that THEIR boycott attempt will work because everyone will rally towards them.
For the record - The feminists got what they wanted because WW2 rolled about and gave them the chance to prove themselves, more then because they jumped in front of horses. And the Left 4 Dead 2 improvments were probably being planned anyway.
Thing is, if this was really so bad, everyone would have allready rallied towards someone and boycotted. But we haven't, and it sure as hell wasn't because no-one's been ready to be a leader. It's because this is a very opinion based matter.

Using both America as an example (believe me, that speech in Independence Day is only bearable to you guys) and a nauseating amount of entitlement is not the way to get people interested in anything.

I'd love to know how anyone thinks that Episode 3 is going to get released if no one gives Valve any money. They don't owe you anything.

Is there some way to boycott that means I still get to buy Portal 2? Because as much as I desperately want episode 3 I also really want that.

...but I like the games that are coming out this year and I liked the games that came out last year. I'm not a fan of TPS/FPS market flooding but I've found gems among the releases that I really like and replay even if the opinion of critics is against them.

I also could care less about half life episode 3-half life 2 was good but episodes 1 and 2 were just...forgettable.

Also why would you want a remake of FFVII? The way it is, is part of the appeal-if you want to play it again then buy it off of PSN. What will you say when they make it HD and you can see all the glaring plotholes and errors that were present in the original game that nostalgia has blinded you to? It could ruin your good memories of it. I actually like FFVII but I do not want a remake.

Yeah... no. Thats arlgiht. See, contrary to what most people like to think, Games are a company, and companies are companies like to make MONEY!

So they dont care about us.
Why don't we make them care? It's our money to begin with.
Because, no one can be bothered to really boycott on any level. And EA makes a lot of its money on the casual gaming crowd, and tehy dont care if EA is cheating them.

The Boston Tea Party? I seem to remember that as being the time when America gave a big fuck you and middle finger to my country. Not the first, and certainly not the last. All my support left... well actually it left sometime in the first paragraph but by the end I was laughing pretty hard so you provoked a response at least.
P.S. Revolutionary War and War of 1812 ended oh...235&199 years ago respectively! Drop the whole," America is BS and all the people are selfish fat pigs who love guns and would sell their mom for a quick buck,' because when someone in England posts something amongst those lines I'm thinking,"dude, get over it, it was 2 centuries ago!
But that's kinda what the Boston Tea Party was; a giant "fuck you" to the British monarchy for imposing heavy taxes on everyday goods via the Townshend Acts and the Tea Act. They didn't just opt not to buy the tea they flat out destroyed about £10,000 worth of tea.
Still, the British still saw us as, if you forgive the term, their ***** back in the early years of pre-America. Plus, if I was getting taxed on everyday goods, not to mention that they taxed papers, and documents, and pamphlets, I'd see the Tea they just left there that they expected to shut up and drink it as the perfect point for a giant FU. Not only the taxes but the Boston Massacre, too. That was Britain's FU.

Ya never know. The situation in Egypt used the internet as the backbone of communication during the entire event. Yes, different circumstances, I'm saying that I don't want a personal army but this could inspire one. Plus, if the publishers do a striptease of a game and let dirty little secrets about the game, they should at least give us a chance at full frontal instead of covering up the game they think/say they're making it. And if they're not making it or uninterested in it, don't go public just quietly contemplate the scenario within the confines of the Legion of Doom headquarters.... I mean EA's corporate headquarters. And yeah, FFVII had flaws that made it human, but if you show us Cloud in 3D(in terms of polygons not the TV gimmick) on PS3 and he's not in Advent Children, you're going to get your fans extremely excited. I mean, when you think of JRPG, BOOM Cloud is right there, with his giant sword and spiky hair, ready to kill Sephiroth and remembering those old days brings back a sense of," when games were good," you get when you play a game that's not as interesting as some of your old 16-bit or blocky 3D games were. The fans will begin to think that Square is combining the technology of today with the essential...everything(?) of FFVII, basically equal to remaking an old movie. Sometimes it may fail, sometimes it will work, and sometimes you may get showered in cash. But when you taunt us about, it's like your getting led on by a really hot chick only to find out she likes having a guy to buy her all the latest stuff

It seems you really know NOTHING about the gaming industry and thus have no grounds to complain about anything. Companies don't tease us for the sake of it; sometimes their publisher cancels the games, budget constraints/deadline problems delay it, etc. Do some research if you want to get on top of that soapbox again.
