This is the cutest damn thing Ive ever heard!
Me and my Mrs started playing WoW together last week, I have played for 3 years and she played a little some time ago.
But I find myself doing all the killing while she picks flowers. She isnt a girly girl or anything but it seems that picking this damn things is more important than helping me kill a pack of angry mobs she pulled along the way.
It's a bloody good thing I'm a Warrior this time.

As for you mate, Erm... Thats pretty weird, Does she think you get exp for each Watchman you fish out or something? Or rep?
I dunno. My rule has always been, if it's not in a quest. F*** the Npc!
I take it she's the caring type?
..Or an idiot. But I dont mean that. I'm just as puzzled as you buddy.

It just means that she has a very good understanding of what a RPG try's to stimulate you into. Let me quote Pulp Fiction here 'That you are a character doesn't mean you have character' There's a pulp fiction quote for everything.

So me and my girlfriend are playing WoW together for the first time (ive been playing for years but she's been wanting to play since i bought her a new computer for our 4th year anniversery), and something is really striking me odd, we're playing as the worgen and are at the one mission where we have to save the drowning watchman, and even after we save the required amount, she's still going back to continue to save the rest. Does anyone else besides me find it really odd that she's doing that?
No, not at all - she's roleplaying. That's actually the way you're supposed to play the game, assuming you're playing that sort of character who would do that. If you were an honorable and virtuous character, why would you let people drown, just because saving them wasn't part of some "quest" someone else told you to do? You'd save the lot if you could. (On the other hand, an evil character might save only some or perhaps not save any of them). All too often, people forget what the RPG in MMORPG really means.

If depends on how you want to role play the character. In infamous there are missions where you have to march these people to areas and then execute them when you're playing as the "evil" Cole, and I'll be damned if I didn't walk every bastard down to the right spot keeping them just alive enough to get there, even though I didn't need them all. Same thing with pedestrians, if I was evil and someone came up to me or got in my way they earned a nice kick to the face. In the good campaign though, when you're rescuing hostages I made sure to get every single one and heal people if I wasn't in the middle of something.

kind of unrelated but... should i get WoW or stick to xbox live? I have played WoW before and enjoyed it but does that get old fast or is it generally a stable game?
There's a fair amount of WOW hate, but seriously, since Cataclysm hit and changed Azeroth completely, coming back and starting at level 1 should be interesting for you, and simply playing the game doesn't turn you into a mindless drone, it's quite possible to just enjoy the game then switch off when you're done :)

If you weren't in Ozland I'd offer you a guild place, but I'm on a euro server - Aggramar.

So, she's trying to save as many people as possible, and you think that's weird? WoW must really change they way people view the world because I think you're weird for letting NPCs drown.

I saw the word "toon" used. That single word pisses me off more than anything when its used like that.

I don't even play WOW and i still find that term to be degrading to gaming as a whole because of where it originated from... A motherfucking cash in attempt by Disney.
