Ok so for christmas my little brother(who is 11)got an XBOX 360 Slim for christmas but yesterday he was playing Halo Reach(not something I agree with him playing but it came bundled with the console) and he turned off and now it won't start up again, all the wires and cables are plugged in but nothing's responding, the controller is fine but the 360 won't even light up, tips on how to get it operating again?

I'd say fiddle around with the thing, like unplug, replug, etc...try and figure something out

It's kinda basic but it never hurts to try
I also suppose you've tried this already so last option is grab the recite and take it back

EDIT: or google the problem you have and see if there are any forums and stuff that people have similar problems

Well I will assume that he has tried turning it on by the console itself and not the controller. By any chance you didn't switch outlets did you? My 360 needs to be plugged into the wall. I cannot get power using a power bar. I thought my 360 was defective when I first bought it because I plugged it into a powerbar.

If the light on the power supply (the 'brick' that you plug into the outlet and 360) is red or doesn't light up at all, then the problem is with the power supply or the outlet it's plugged into.

If the light on the power supply is orange, then the problem is with the 360 or it's 'on button'.

When everything is working properly, the light on the power supply should be orange when the 360 is switched off and green when it's switched on.

Re-check all your power connections. Sometimes the cable from the 360 to the power supply looks like it is in, but really isn't.

I can't imagine you could have done something to it that would make it cease functioning 100%. Make sure all cables are plugged and try a different wall outlet. Almost never will it just flat out not turn on.

Mine wouldn't turn on when I first got it - when I took it back to GAME and they tried it, turned on fine, and then when I took it home and plugged it in it was fine.

The moral of the story is: try plugging it in somewhere else maybe? That's all I've got.

Well,if you get that working then try to fix some computer fans along the vents.Forces the hot air out and prevents red dot and crashes.
