So, I think at this point, most fans of MLP have seen Equestria Girls, either in theaters, or through online leaks.

(Take this as a spoiler warning for the whole thread, if you haven't seen the movie, turn back now)

And now that it's been widely seen, opinions are all over the place. Some love it, some hate it, some are neutral, some aggressively defend it, other aggressively attack it, there just isn't much of a consensus among the fans about it.

I've made my feelings about it [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.818967-My-Little-Pony-Equestria-Girls-Review-None-of-the-hooves-all-of-the-charm] known since it came out (short answer, I like it), but what about the rest of you?

Of course I liked it. If the show is good enough to entertain me the movie, no matter what the premise, was going to be good.

You know who didn't like it? People who had their expectations too high. You hear that out there! You're what's wrong with (insert country here), and you're why legos are so popular.

Not to derail my own thread... but what's wrong with Legos? Legos are freaking awesome.

I found the movie alright. It was enjoyable and I keep having to listen to 'Helping Twilight Win The Crown'. But the thing that really bugged me, please excuse me being picky, was the pacing. Seriously, it took until about 35 minutes (even though about the first ten minutes was in Equestria) for Twilight to meet up with all her friends and the climax only got about 15 minutes. Also, how did human Rainbow Dash take to flying so easily? But other than that, I really liked the film.

I think everyone who frequents User Reviews already knows my opinion on it.

But for those who don't, I didn't like it.

I thought it was alright.

And I went in thinking that it was going to be that, so all is right with the world!

Seriously though, the characters kept it interesting, and the songs were nice. However, the plot was a bit....bleh...certainly predictable...and kind of a weak ending...but again, the strong characters helped carry it through, and I still enjoyed it. There were parts that made me smile through it all, and something that does that can not be awful right?

I found nothing overtly and incredibly objectionable about it. Any issues I have with it are mainly just issues I have with the FiM series in general

Pacing is mostly my complaint as well.

I also found it strange how Sunset Shimmer turned into a full on demon once she grabbed the Element of Harmony, but eh.

There was also the fact that Sunset Shimmer's plan in breaking up the friends relied on them not ever talking to each other about what happened. It was basically a Batman Gambit.

I went in different than a lot of other bronies. The premise of High School never bothered me. It was the stuff that people assume is dragged along with it. Drama, sports, boys, prom, etc. I thought those things were downplayed so I was able to enjoy it. I was smiling most of the time through it. I'm one of the people who watch FiM to be happy. I always find myself smiling while watching the show. All the humor was pretty good, the pandering wasn't too in your face (lets face it, we all knew it was going to be in there). I thought it was going to be worse, but i walked away happy.

Things worth mentioning.

1) Rebecca Shoichet as SS was fun to watch, she is the singing voice for Twilight and I thought she performed well in her first speaking role in the franchise
2) Music was pretty good. I'm generally not a fan of the pop stuff but found myself enjoying at least two songs
3) I really liked how they seem to be resolving Twilight's arc. She gives a friendship lesson like a princess should. This seems to mean they aren't going to ignore that Twilight Alicorn is a thing, which is great.
4) Spike was pretty awesome in this movie. He was better here than he was in Spike at your service... and that is hilarious since parts of the fandom freaked out over him being a dog. Lately I find myself enjoying things in spite of the fandom.

I'd give it a 7/10

I prefer FiM.

Yeah, I found that a bit odd as well. What's different about Sunset Shimmer that made her transform the second she put the crown on her head. Maybe the will to use it, but then is it so far out of the reach of imagination that the crown might have accidentally been triggered when somebody else was holding it.

"Spike at your service" isn't exactly a high benchmark, but yeah :p

OT, yeah, I thought it was okay. As others have said, the pacing seemed a little off. To me, the Humane Six seemed a bit more one dimensional than their pony equivalents. Also, Demonic Sunset was a bit of a stretch.

But overall, it was a fun way to spend an afternoon, and deserves its place in FiM.
