Whatever, just wash your hands.
Sounds like they are finally making a mlp video game and by they I mean Gameloft, makers of.... something of note I'm sure... maybe. Before you get your controllers and mice ready, it sounds like its limited to mobile devices.

Of course this raises two very important questions, why the hell isn't it on a real console or the pc and why the hell isn't Double Fine or Telltale making this?

Not sure if doublefine would handle it so well as fun as it would be for MLP adult fans it is prodomintley a kids tv show so im not sure the adult underlying themes from Tim schafer would be ideal for the target market.

But hey what do i know :p

There's already a bunch of fanmade games in the making. A fighting game called Fighting is Magic, a Mario Kart-type of game, an RPG and a point-and-click adventure game.

Finally, an obscure piece of internet knowledge I know becomes relevant~!

http://www.mane6.com/

MLP: Fighting is Magic

Though it's not an official game or even close to coming out, but I believe it's going to be free.

That being said, I would question how good an 'official' MLP game could be. At best I can imagine a 2D platformer.

Edit: Ninja'd, just barely.

Well Double Fine did make a Kinect Sesame Street video game recently that got pretty favorable reviews, if any big name game company wanted to make a MLP game, they would probably be the best bet

Costume Quest, Once Upon a Monster, and Double Fine Happy Action Theater were all kid-friendly/family-friendly games. The one problem I have is that having to work within a pre-established property like this would undermine Double Fine's real strengths of story and art design. I mean, presumably they could just have a story written by a writer for the show (or, ideally, Lauren Faust herself), and theres already a pretty strongly established aesthetic, meaning DF's impeccable art department wouldn't have a whole lot to do.

Well I think gameloft can do a good job making the game I've played quite a few of their games before i.e. the Assassians Creed game for the iPhone and Modern Combat: Sandstorm for the iphone, both were pretty good for being 3D games on the iPod touch and actually controlled fairly well. I just hope that if they do make the game in 3D they make sure the models are better than the Garry's mod ones which Are a bit too far into the uncanny valley for my taste.

It's just an iPhone game people, move along move along. Actually, don't move along. We should all be scared at this desicion, because knowing Gameloft they really love copyright laws. And since they now pretty much own MLP games, they can send cease and desists to every single brony fangame. I really hope they don't, and if they do I hope Hasbro gives them a kick in the balls. But really, I hope nothing bad comes out of this except for a lacklustre kids touch screen game.

Seeing as they probably won't be making it for bronies, because as far as I know Gameloft neither know nor care about bronies. So expect this to be a crap kids game at best.

Last thing we need is a subtle dick joke involving Rainbow Dash right the hell outta no-where. But then again they did Sesame Street......

I don't watch my little pony but it would be fun to watch the internet explode with joy when it turns out to be good.

Once Upon a Monster was based on Sesame Street, and they managed to make it a pretty good looking game. I can see them making an MLP game, and they would make it friendly enough to be for kids but good enough that all us bronies will buy it. But really, we've got so many fan games coming out in the future we really don't need some big company to make an MLP game anymore.

Joy and hate equally. I can see the mindless haters now saying stuff like "OMG THE BRONIEZ HAVE RUINED VIDEO GAMES WHY DO THEY KEEP SHOVING IT DOWN MY FACE WAAHH". Or something along those lines. But either way, that game will get a shit ton of sales from bronies. If the Bronycon kickstarter, Seeds of Kindness fan album and Humble Brony Bundle are anything to go by.

Tim Schafer and Lauren Faust collabing on an MLP game.... I... I think I need to change my pants at that idea.

Please be an adventure game please be an adventure game please be an adventure game....

I mean, seriously. An adventure game with minigame elements is how I can best imagine a game being true to the show.
And it would be adorable.
Also, adventure games should be a bigger thing on the iOS/android/whatever. Touch screens are practically begging for rubbing all the things in the world against all the other things in the world.

It's an iPhone game made by Gameloft. So probably not. Also, if you want an MLP adventure game there is plenty of fan games being made that will probably be better than anything Gameloft (who will only try to target to little girls, not bronies) will put out. Just look at My Little Investigations, a fully voiced Phoenix Wright style game with adventure game elements.

Nah, the hipster trend of bronies has been dying out for a while. It's been reduced to the odd few second long YouTube video posted in a random thread, hardly prevalent like it was leaving said poster to look a bit of a sad case really.

That said, I wonder if a console pony game would sell in big numbers? I'd probably lean towards not.

Bronies are definitely not a "hipster trend", and we are not dying out. It's just the season break, and I assure you that when season 3 starts we'll be going at full force yet again. A hipster trend only lasts a few months, like most trends. Bronies are a fully established sub culture, and they won't be fully gone until a few years after the show finishes. I don't know if you were being "hostile" or not with your statement, but I hope my argument has convinced you that bronies are definitely not a hipster trend.

And I reckon an MLP console game would sell well, mainly through bronies buying it of course. I reckon it would be a minigame collection or some shit like that though.
