Well yesterday was the last day of the London Eurogamer expo and the games i played there went from good to amazing, the ones i would class as 'good' are;
Uncharted 2 ( WAY to linear for me)
Ratchet & clank (don't know which one though for casual gamers at best and trophy/ G farmers))
Avatar the game (good although breathtaking in Nvidia 3D gaming, i would play as the marines the campaign is alot better, also DONT buy for the Wii because all you do it wave the remote around while smashing buttons and it really is poor)
Tekken 6 (like all the other Tekkens to the point just plain beat em up fun with a co-op campaign added to it
The Beatles Rock band (you have to like the Beatles... well obviously)
Lost planet 2 ( only because i didn't much like the first one)
Halo 3 ODST (Halo fans please don't hate me)
Heavy rain (not much to say apart from entertaining)
& forza motor-sport (the game would be in the amazing section if you are willing to fork out for the pedals, chair and 3-3 screens, just for the experience)

The games i would put above good to amazing are;
MAG ( the play on MAG was incredibly good the game-play is hard to describe but it feels so 'right' if yo now what i mean? its everything you want it to be just b looking at the cover)
Battlefield bad company 2 (which takes a more original view on FPS gaming and really promotes the use of vehicles and all building are demolish-able one guy tried to hide from my rocket shooting Apache in a house... that didn't go well for him! )
Beyonetta ( this game play alot like all other fighting games in it's genre but it's the moves and visuals that make it special)
Left 4 dead 2 (i had someone on the inside for this one he says it is not much different from the original just a hell of alot cooler and funnier)
Army of two the 40th day ( all it is was one up from the original, you had to like the original to like this)
Alien vs Predator ( my mate said it plays well but the aliens have no special sight apart from normal vision we don't know wether that is just for the demo or it's permanent)
Assassins creed 2 (this was the most taken up booth, wasn't very surprising but it is a godly game, you might have to like the original to like the game)
Batman AA Nvidia 3D (im sorry but 3D gaming is the way forward!)
Mass effect 2
Bioshock 2
Global Agenda (sign up for beta @ global-agenda.com or google, this is a web based game for computers this game is very addictive)
& God of war 3
(these are my own opinions and should not effect what you decide to buy, this is also not all the games that were on show some where played by my 18 year old mate and the rest were what i could be bothered to queue for)

So overall the day was great, they had a PsP go cafe in which every seat in the cafe contained a PsP for you to play as you were eating, they also had a press corner where you could talk to the game designers and rep's for companies looking to recruit concept artists and programers, i also met the voice of Mario which was incredibly funny hearing him spew quotes every time someone asked him a question, although the indie game section of the expo was clever it did leave alot to be desired on the playability front. so that was my day at the London Eurogamer 2009 expo.

Thanks for reading. :D

So - what's your point exactly? Why not describe the day - give us some information on how all the games you played play etc?

Something to turn this from a list thread into some from of discussion...

I went to the Leeds one. Was good.

Although all I saw of Heavy Rain was one long QTE. Not terribly exciting.

I went to the Leeds one too and thought the same of Heavy Rain but didn't get chance to play - the preview of Blink was good, would've been nice for a playable demo too but they still seemed fairly alpha rather than beta stage design (got me a free t though :D )

Introversions seminar on being an indie developer was quite funny too, overall I'm a bit annoyed I missed the Team17 show due to still queuing to get in, suppose I should've got there earlier.

As a day though overall I thought it was a little narrow, a hell of a lot of EA and many shooters with little else - but I suppose that's an accurate reflection of the state of the games industry at the moment ;o)

Filled too halls - from the look of the booklet about the same size as the London one - though you guys got better speakers by the looks of things.

Fairly big. It was split across two large buildings, all on the ground floor. There were quite a lot of people there, but you could still move around freely, unless you were queuing for Tekken 6.

Tekken 6 wasn't too crowded in London, we had an upstairs ground floor and a basement.

It was a good show, but frankly your thoughts on some of the games are ridiculous. Uncharted 2 in the same league as Avatar? Bayonetta a brilliant game?

Anyway, BF:BC2 stole the show for me. It's such a step back towards proper BF gameplay rather than the original BC's, it's great. Got me and 2 of my clanmates on, and we cleaned house.

Lost Planet 2, though much better than the original, plays horribly on the PS3's controller. Frighteningly bad. Looking forward to it on the 360.

Uncharted 2, as we already know, was great. Little dodgy on the framerates at some points though, it seemed.

Mass Effect 2's demo didn't relieve my distinct worries that it will be far too combat orientated, leaving characters lifeless or retarded (see Grunt, Subject Zero).

God of War 3 was a very mixed game for me. Large bosses and nice visuals, but last-gen combat and ridiculously poor AI made it seem half-hearted.

Assassins's Creed II, what little I got to play, felt nicely polished. Certainly looking forward to it. The combat is slick, though I hope there's an option to turn off the sparkly markers.

Aliens versus Predator made up for it's decidedly average visuals with great gameplay and visceral action. Good stuff!

Heavy Rain seemed incredibly tiresome after a few minutes, though the visuals are great (specifically the faces, which are quite amazing). I can see what they're trying to do, but Fahrenheit felt much more enthralling.

Left 4 Dead 2 is more of the same, which isn't a bad thing. Nice to see the polished game, can't wait to play realistic mode to get rid of the glowing outline, though.

Avatar was a pile of shit. Think Lost Planet, but worse (though no annoying energy bar or snow). Watched it in 3D later, felt rather disorientating.

NFS: Shift (if I recall correctly) was great in 3D, though rather confusing at times.

Ratchet and Clank seemed pretty good, though I didn't get to play that.

That's all I'm willing to type up at the moment. Was a great expo regardless.
