Everyone has there own opinon and if you are living at home you'll have to respect hers. Dont play it while shes around, or get headphones and take care of them. If you want to do what ever you want you'll have to get your own place for that. If you start becoming more hostile or acting spolied thats just gonna "prove" her point that the music is a bad influence.
This.

also she's been reading some of theses posts and she's not happy (playing drowning pool at the time probably didnt help)
any thing you guys want to say to here directly? (i tell her later)
Stop rebelling.
If I was doing something that worried my mother, I would stop and explain to her what something is and why I am involved in it.
So you should explain, in a very condensed manner, what Final Fantasy Seven is about.
First, explain that the series is name-only, and thus FF7 is completely independent from the other games. (That confuses a lot of people new to the series)
Then explain that the main character's primary goal is to stop the evil megacorporation, Shinra, from sucking out the planet's life force and converting it into a source of energy. Then go on to explain that Sephiropth is the product of Shinra's grab for power, made from their greed and JENOVA, a supernatural force of destruction (and implied evil).
The experience of the game pretty much consists of traveling throughout the world, enlisting help and gaining knowledge from the places yet untouched by Shinra (Like Cosmo Canyon, that... ninja place, thing) and helping the few good people you find in the places that are industrialized.
Its half "Save the rainforest" PSA, and half "Greed leads to evil and destruction," which in essence is a very Christian moral. The rest of the content is mostly stuff conventional of the JRPG genre or direct from Japanese pop culture in the 90's. Like those silly outfits some of those characters wear.
You should also take the time to explain a bit about Nobuo Uematsu. That he is an incredible compositional talent and writes all sorts of music in different genres.
The main theme of the game certainly can change someone's tune:
Start from 1:50. That's where it gets really good.
He's not my favorite video game composer, admittedly; Paul Remero's theme for the Holy Griffin Empire just sends
shivers down my spine. But that same song has both an English [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOChmjXQYjg] and Latin [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86Y447mzPV0] version.
HoMM uses the theme of "Good versus evil" with humans and angels fighting against evil demons and monsters often in the series, so the Latin is appropriate.
Still, for gameplay purposes, the Latin one works better (and was used in the official release of Heroes of Might and Magic 5) because most players do not speak Latin, and thus hear it as an element of the music. Hearing people speak can be a bit distracting when you're trying to think.
