First things first I love MW2 and if you don't the rest of us don't really want to hear you have a fan boy fit in here.
As much as I love it there's a few things I think that should be tweeked that would make the game much more enjoyable and balanced online.

Here it goes:
-Players using akimbo weapons cannot melee or they drop one of their guns (similar to the throwing knife style), or even have to pistol whip twice (riot shield style)
-Range of commando is shortened
-when an EMP is used it gives the person who activated it assist points every time somebody is killed
-Dragonov is implemented into multiplayer (since it is in single player)
-Not sure what but something has to be done about tube spamming
-Kinfe kills start a short animation to make that instakill more reasonable also leaving the knifer open for a few seconds
-Last stand is no longer a perk though players go into it if they get a kllworthy amount of shots to the legs
-Riot shields can be penetrated by sniper rounds
-bayonet attachment similar to tactical knife for pistols
-Do something to scrambler to make it not so useless

What do you guys think? Also if anybody knows how I would contact IW with these ideas please PM me the info.

no more akimbo 1887(not for the overpoweredness, just for the realism), no more switching between classes in one life when you have one man army, and fix the 6,000,000 bugs.

The riot shield was overall a bad idea. It needs a definite number of hit points before it breaks.

Perhaps but nobody would use it if it breaks all the time. I think weapon specific weaknesses would be best because it is a handy item when used with a competent team.
Also an explosive knocking it out your hands would be cool.

We have a fix for that, it's called Bad Company 2. /troll

In all seriousness, I think the knife shouldn't be an instant kill anywhere on the body (Even BC2 is guilty of that), explosives need to be toned down, marathon perk and and akimbo having a clear, distinct disadvantage of having besides a minor accuracy decrease (practically non-existent with the shotguns).

I think akimbo should be removed. For a game that people seem to think is so realistic, it was a ludicrous idea to begin with. Also, they should figure out how to not spawn people into instant death traps. I do not enjoy spawning next to an enemy or under a harrier and especially not into the reticule of an AC-130.

Whaddya know I'm back.

Riot shield weakness: if you get 1v1 on them throw a flash or a stun then run around behind them and knife them. Not that hard. Its hard to time it right and hit someone when you have a riot shield when flashed or stunned.

they arn't that bad people. its a niche thing for some people to play with the shield.
Not as bad as the runners with a knife!

Too bad you have have to literally implement it for every weapon. Seriously, what is stopping any other gun from falling out of your hands if you get hit by an explosion? Hell at least with the riotshield you slide your arm into place so that if you did get knocked on your ass it is still attached to your arm. I hope you realize that if the riotshield is able to be dropped or destroyed it essentially removes the primary equipment slot for that player. What happens then, they have to run around and find another weapon? The only way it could be ever fair is if the riotshield's slam knocked some one on their ass or had an effect like the stun grenade when used as a melee. I honestly don't think the riot shield is that much of a problem, there are very few people out there who are actually good with it, most people running around with it get like 2-3 kills then get slaughtered.

In terms of the original post...what would be the difference of attaching a bayonet to a pistol instead of the tactical knife? It would be the same effect and I personally think the cross arm tactical knife looks bad ass.
In terms of the Akimbos, I sort of agree, the problem is that you can pretty much say that for every other weapon. I mean all the rifles (sniper and assault) are two handed weapons, you would have a terribly hard time swinging a knife with any accuracy and holding onto a rifle. If anything, I think they should have some sort of delayed effect after you swing a knife before you can shoot your gun again.

Commando, I'm on the fence, whether or not its true range is really that OP is hard to say. Yes people get pissed off at the "teleport" but lag in general makes the distance look huge sometimes and it honestly looks like a dash attack under normal latency which I really don't have a huge problem with since most people who get that dash usually come out in the red.

Last Stand: I hope you realize it has nothing to do with physically standing....what has getting shot in the legs have anything to do with laying on your back and firing a pistol into someone? Last Stand is a guy on the brink of death pulling out his secondary weapon (kind of like the scene in Saving Private Ryan). Hell you could have your legs completely blown off in real life and still manage to have enough second of life to fire a shot or two.

Knife having an animation is another one of those lets be realistic in a game that is skipping some realism in terms of keeping up a fast gameplay pace. Yes it would take you a couple seconds to kill some one for sure in real life, but one shot knife kills do exist in life. Hitting someone in the spine, heart, across the throat; that person is pretty much on the floor helpless or dying really fast. But consider this, one could argue that while yes knifing is an instant kill when maybe in real life it wouldn't be. The same can be said about sniping, you do just pop your eye into a sniper scope and instantly get a beautiful view of the area around you and can pop people off left and right. Sniping requires fine adjustments (somewhat like a microscope/telescope) to get a clear shot and in other cases over longer distances snipers need spotters.

They shouldn't have made the multiplayer matchmaking, and just let the hosts of servers ban all the unbalanced crap.

The problem with Commando is 25% the range, and 75% the fact that it makes you invincible as you ridiculously lunge toward the person. I think Infinity Ward needs to focus on fixing their completely broken game before they even consider adding new things. Though that is already a lost cause because the $15 map pack is coming out tomorrow.

As for the longer knife animation, see Bad Company 2. Knifing is never a good option because to so long to actually do it, you are much better off just shooting a few rounds into the guy.

I think if they simply switched a two perks around (and strike one), the game would be more enjoyable:

tier 1
Marathon SitRep
Sleight of Hand
Scavenger
Bling
One Man Army

tier 3
Commando
Ninja
SitRep Marathon
Steady Aim
Scrambler
Last Stand

By making players choose between Marathon and Commando, people who just go around knifing won't have so much of an advantage by sacrificing either mobility on attack range.

scrambler does the exact opposite of what was intended. all it does is let the enemy know that someone within the area is there and to become more alert.
