So, today I was reading the editorial of the Ottawa Sun, and they decided to out of nowhere attack gaming. It started out as a column on how parents should give kids tough love to shapen them up, but then went downhill as soon as it his electronics.

Such informed wisdom includes "Violent games allow kids to become fat and have a cocaine like experience from adrenaline rushes" or "people who spend five hours or more on the internet are suicidal".

And of course, they fail to mention, or are unaware of, the fact that the average gamer is in fact an adult. So they use fat kids as scapegoats to ***** about video games while adults themselves are more to blame. Fucking hypocrites.

Anyways, what do you think? I know its more of the same shit we always have to put up with, but it pissed me off.

Send them a big box. Inside, say "From your loyal readers" with a button next to it, and inside the box a the very center have a audio player, so when they push the button it plays a Rick Roll, and make it so it's very difficult to reach the thing so they either destroy it, or try very painfully to take it out. At the end of the rick roll, have a voiceover of you saying "Video Games don't make people suicidal, fools like you do" and have it repeat over!

I'd suggest not sending a return address though, by the way.

Right from the Tough Love article I would have burned it. That is a guide to being a bad parent apparently.

Write a letter to the editor asking what it feels like to work in an industry that is obsolete and dying. That'll learn 'em.

You can't fix stupid. Newspapers are always going to be fearmongering and presumptuous, and if most people who read newspapers are adults (we youth like to get our news from the TV or the internet), they obviously can't say "parents are to blame" because that sounds like "adults are to blame" which sounds like "we are responsible."

We live in the 21st century. Nobody wants to be responsible for anything.

Has fox news recently bought the Ottawa Sun? "Violent games allow kids to become fat and have a cocaine like experience from adrenaline rushes" or "people who spend five hours or more on the internet are suicidal". I can easily picture one of those shit streaks say that.

Unfortunately that's true. This video is a prime example of ignorance toward gaming. (Thank you Fox News)

I love how toward the end they realize they're losing the argument so they cut him off.

In Mexico most of the gamers are children actually, but I can tell what he wrote is basically crap. He isn't really taking into consideration every other aspect that can be involved!

My thoughts exactly. Ask him which is worse for one's mental health---five hours on the Internet or five hours at the circulation desk at a major daily.

Just deal with it, when new types of media come in ignorant tards feel the need to bash it because they don't understand it, they jump at the fact that you can shoot someone in the game, so what? I was seeing heads getting blown off in movies but you guys had no problem with that.

As gaming becomes more popular retards like this will slowly die down

That being said can we just burn down Fox News Studio, basically a bunch of right wing, smug retards. In that Mass Effect thing I'm surprised they didn't bring up Glenn Beck to talk about the games nazi agenda.

Agreed, send this box.

Or just light a paper bag full of shit on fire on their office steps...

Seriously tho people who don't know the subject should not be allowed to talk about that subject, or at least should do some research and fact checking first before making baseless assumptions.

The things I will need to deal with the writer of your newspaper:

1. My stabbing knife
2. A shovel
3. A quiet place in the woods
