This usually only comes with sports games (Rockband etc aside.) I've noticed, I don't play many if any of them so it's not a huge issue for me.

This just seems like a rant to me.
On a lighter note, I like the music they used in Burnout 2, how the bass and melody were jacked up a notch when you used your boost. Thems were the days.
That they were

Damn kids and their licensed music games. In my day we hummed along to the green hill zone tune or the Super Mario invincibility theme.
When he gets to the whales this becomes totally relevant, and it's funny

That video is made of epic win. I bet that guy's throat was killing him after that.
It would have been totally worth it

I missed when more games made their own music. Burnout used to have it's own tracks, now it's all crappy unfitting music that I have to mute with Rob Zombie or something else.

There are usually sliders in the options menu that adjust the volume of these things.
I had a feeling someone would give a response this stupid.
What we have here is failure to access enough pr0n.

Quake II had original music, it was great to get all those tunes. You may not have liked them (in which case you really should be taken out and shot) but they fit the levels, it added to the game in this respect. Using other music not written for a game can work, too, if done right. It rarely is.

Fixed your post there for you.

Personally, if the music doesn't make me want to shred my ears off with a cheese grater, then I don't really mind. It's even better if the music fits with the game's atmosphere and/or gameplay almost perfectly, like in the Burnout games or WipEout games.
