My PS3 Does Not Reciprocate My Love

First off, I love my PS3. Great system loaded with fun games. However, I feel that she doesn't love me. I learned to deal with her small controllers and her big frame, and over time, I even learned to accept them and love them.

However, she doesn't want to pony up the money and get things such as DLC. There's no going "dutch" with her. She spends and spends and spends my money and makes me wait while she "updates". No love. I just bought you a shiny new game, why do you make me wait so long until I can see you wear it?

Her dad, Kevin Butler might be the reason, but she needs to break free. Sure I don't know Linux, but don't deny me. You've been with many guys you let Linux you, but now you won't even let me try. I'm not even into that, but I still want the option.

Also, you keep telling me you're going to get so many games. I believe you. Should I? Probably not. But I'll stay and not go try out your Japanese Cousin, the Wii.

Please PS3, love me back like I love you....

Anyone else feel this way about a beloved console?

Mine killed itself on a fire by burning my car's motor, yes she really hated me that much, probably because I only had 4 games for it and I did not like any of them so I didn't use her, my PC on the other hand :( poor thing she got killed on the PS3's terrorist attack and I miss my PC, now all I got is this piece of shit that can't run any game.
EDIT: You wanna hear the worse part? I'll take that as a yes, the warranty for my PC finished just the day before the fire :/

Well I have a hard time talking about the things my PS3 has been doing as some people know. It's been getting worse.

After it declaring Pluto not to be a planet it decided it wanted to open up a Hotel business on the Moon. I have had several conversations with him about how it's just not practical due to the atmosphere not being able to sustain human life, but it's reply is always "Who said anything about humans being around when it's finished?" and it gives me a slight grin. I'm very worried...

Still, he did let me play Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBig Planet, so I kind of owe him something, but I'm out of money after he forced me to install 5 windmills in the front yard, I'm not exactly sure why he wanted this but I've learnt to trust him after he let me know who the man of the house is around here. I just wish the neighbors would stop complaining, especially since I took out the jumping castle already...

Also, I learned how to organize my games in the menu now, so that's a plus.

EDIT: I guess I should add some discussion value since the PS3 Nazi Party run this site and I don't want to annoy them after they smashed my car up. I think the PS3 is the best console of this generation after spending considerable time with each of them. It got me back into actively gaming lately. Has anybody had a similar reaction?

While LBP was great, I experienced a time where my discs were shot out. Fortunately, it didn't create any harm but I'm still fearful.

We could have a fundraiser for you. Get Kaleion's games back.

No, I've never had any issues with my PS3. We trust each other fully and have regular romantic evenings together.

Ditto. Plus, I have all three systems and the PS3 is by far my favorite. I can't stand XBOX controllers, and, while the Wii has its place, its NOT a serious gaming platform.

PS3 is the only love I ever get. She plays all my Blurays which is the majority of my consoling these days so that's a huge favor she does on a daily basis. Her annoying little sister Wii only likes to tease me and then pull my hair and make me firmly believe I have arthritis. I'm not that old, but she knows just how to push my old-man buttons I guess. She has yet to learn she ain't worth the hassle just for some go-karting. Think I'd rather spend all day hanging out at the mall. Like "oh my gah!"

And then there's her other sister, the spoiled brat. Prone to tantrums, 360 never wants to cooperate yet still thinks she's the best. Snobbish little wench, she is. She brags that she's got "all the stuff" yet there's absolutely nothing on her I can't get elsewhere. Usually even better somewhere else. Might require a bit of patience on my part, but so worth it just so I don't have to deal with her anymore.

All my love only goes to only one of the sisters. The other two could completely disappear and I probably wouldn't even notice. Know I wouldn't care at any rate.

Trust me, it will do it again. Keep an eye out for when it starts to get a little snappy before morning coffee, mine usually has a bit of a tantrum and throws a disc (I've already had to replace 2 copies of Valkyria Chronicles...). I remind it of the windmills that I installed and he thanks me and goes back to reading the news.

Wow, how do you manage it? I personally am in a strict friend zone with my PS3 as I'm in a happy relationship, I do worry about it being jealous sometimes...

Hehe. Well done op.

OT: I felt pretty betrayed by my Xbox360 when it RRoDed. So I got a PS3 instead. Best choice ever.

Love their good bits as well as their bad bits, it's what makes them who they are.

Best choice ever? Couldn't agree more.
