My RPG suggestion/question

Would an RPG where you get to choose between being a good, clean detective or an evil bounty hunter work? You could choose to find people via clues and tracking their movements or asking/interogating/torturing people for answers. You could work for the police authorities or the mob or some gang. You'd also be able to collect/steal/buy investegator gear. There would have to be real attention and detail put towards the storyline for a game like this to work maybe? What do you think?

Sounds great, I wish someone would make some good games like this. Think if all the people working on those movie-game cash-ins banded together their miserably small IQ's and ACTUALLY CREATED A GOOD GAME. The count of awful games would go down and we would have great games like this.

You'd need a very robust and well thought out conversation engine, for better than Mass Effect's.
If it would be done then it would make for an awesome game, but people won't buy it because they couldn't shoot things all the time.

The masses have dumbed down, if this is going to be made then it isn't going to be done by a major studio. Hell, you should think about giving it a shot yourself. The world of videogames could do with some innovative ideas that don't involve guns.
