well my school nearly burnt down once, but sadly we only got one week off
One of the schools in my area (I'm from Australia) was burned down, supposedly by some students. I guess they wanted a day off.

all the guys who were leaving school dressed up like bunnies and chased a "carrot" through the school. Broke into an AS art exam. They got locked out after they went through the surrounding area.

At my old high school? Lets, see, we had a 2 bombs scares, a shooting threat and a couple of chemical leaks resulting in 3 class rooms being closed down for "Clean up."

The fun part is, they never evacuated the school during the bomb threats, they brought in a K-9 unit for the shooting threat, but didn't hinder classes and they did a piss poor job of cleaning up those chemical messes.

Oh, and that was just my Freshman year. Life Lesson here people, don't send your kids to inner-city public schools.

At the school my brother attended, a student left a fish in the library air-ducts over the christmas holidays - 6 weeks later when the students returned, the library still stank of rotting fish (despite the cleaners having come in two weeks before and done everything possible to get rid of it... rather uninspired, but funny nonetheless

as for explosives, a teacher once accidentally dropped about a cubic inch of caesium from the container into a students bag, in which there was a leaking water bottle (caesium + water = explosion, and all)... luckily, he retrieved it before the protective coating degraded, but it was close...

It seems like every second week something happens are are school. More often than not some of the scientists in one of our bio research buildings lead to the whole building being shut down while its searched and cleaned. Thank christ none of these "accidents" seem to happen round the nuclear reactor though.

Nothing interesting ever happened in school. The most dramatic thing people did (and I guilty of) is set the fire alarms off for no reason what so ever.

EDIT: I remember a kid in my class tried jumping out of the window on the top floor of the school, luckily my class mates weren't dicks and actually pulled him back.

In the five years that I was at high school there was three fires. I somehow managed to not be there on all three occasions.
That sounds like a very convenient excuse.

One substitute teacher was going to turn on the power in the kitchen and activated the sprinklersystem. Lots of green goo everywhere! Apparently something with the text: "WARNING! Sprinkler System. In case of fire pull" translated as "Pull to turn on power" to him.

It was quite hilarious.
