What totalitarian and almost facist country do you live in that bans Animal Farm, To kill a mocking bird and 1984?

Because really? What?
USA

There not banned. Parents and such file complaints to get them removed from libraries but it's sorta a thing from the 80's,90's I honesty don't know of a libraries that dose not carry the famous novles/books).

Here is the list btw

That must be the only list to contain both 'THe Anarchist's Cookbook' and 'Captain Underpants.'
Wait, why would you want to ban Captain Underpants? Those novels are great! Huge epics! The greatest works of our times!

Animal Farm is on the banned book list? That's weird. Here in the UK it's one of the books on the syllabus for English literature.
That's what I was thinking! :p

Then again... it's a British book, so that is expected!

But banned books!? America...? The state that claims 'being the most free state in the world' and they have a banned book list...

:/

I am really quite surprised... I thought your constitustion was based on being free, and having rights? (I'm not trying to pick a fight, or flame or anything... I am genuinely surprised!)

The thing I am most shocked about, is that people in the US (and must be a large ammount to get on that list) the most patriotic and self-proud country in the world have tried to get Mark Twains books banned... Mark Twain... the father of US literature... the original American author... who wrote stories based on the issues of the time, and gives one of the best insights into that period of American History... and they tried to get it banned...

Wow!

It's great that she's getting into reading. If you wanna really challenge her after getting through that list, and seeing if she can decipher more difficult literature, try throwing The Sound and the Fury her way. See if she can handle it.

Disclaimer: I don't like the book that much, it's just a deep and difficult book.

EDIT: I can't believe anyone would be so petty as to ban In the Night Kitchen... I can see why, but it's a children's book. I had no problem with it when I was little...
