Super Mario World is to blame for mushroom addiction, turtle abuse and ingestion of star shaped objects and poisonous flowers.

To some of us gamers, its not the video games that create violence, its the violence that makes us want to forget and relax playing games...

Here's a tip: pick up a lighter and see how fast that textbook burns.

Sadly, you are all guilty of the same accusations you are throwing at your own opponents: of not having perspective.

Video games DO cause increased aggression and violence. This is an indisputable fact, backed by numerous case studies and experiments (and yes, there ARE peer reviewed experiments, done on gamers of ALL ages, and not just those who play violent video games; to argue that you cannot think of a viable experiment is an argument from ignorance or lack of imagination).
No they don't. I read about 20 or so of those studies(there are only about 30 of them), and a large number of them were fairly biased. Video games increase the potential to be aggressive and irritability, but not violence.
i love me some video games but...
if aggression and irritability is increased doesnt the potential for violence also increase especialy in an already unstable individual.
and while this violence could be trigered by any number of things video games are infact a possible triger? correct?

Bah!
Video games don't cause violence.
People who say 'How did I know how to kill? I play COD.' are just looking for something to blame.

Is it one of those textbooks that also tells you how to tell if a person near you is a commie?
Or how to deal with a homosexual, one with an illness of the mind?
Clearly you did not read those textbooks properly as if you had it would have pointed out that homosexuality is a illness of the mind (i should point out that i`m not a homophobe but am simply making a moderatly tasteless joke)

Things like the media and textbooks like to blame stuff like videogames, TV and music for violence when it usually isn't. Columbine is a good example, as the media targeted Marilyn Manson when it turned out the convicted criminals had never even heard his music.

Sounds like some stupid religious propaganda.

The thing people don't like to admit, because we're all so "civilised" is that humans are inherantly violent. Society tries so hard to tell us we're loving and gentle and what-ever-the-fuck-have-you, but each year we make enough bullets to kill everyone in the world twice. We have throughout history devised and used the most obscene forms of torture concievable and we have created bombs with the sole intention of wiping out entire populations.
We kill, we maim, we destroy and then we repeat it.

Videogames are not to blame. There is no blame, unless you want to point the finger at our genetics, which is stupid.
Whats more violence in itself is not a bad thing. It is a neccessity. People think a world without violence would be bliss. No it wouldnt. It'd be a giant mess of repressed instincts and contained savagery.

Simply send in a complaint where you ask them to provide proper scientific evidence for this claim and request to remove this piece of text if they don't succeed to do that (which will be the case).

load of bollocks, soon enough health specialist will claim oxygen is bad for you, an then blame a murderous rampage on someone breathing too much?

Actually, breathing does cause cell damage. It's really weird.

...I just have no idea how to adequately express my outrage at this stupidity. I'm not even going to try.
