if you (the OP) are so convinced that Rare is out of original ideas, and can only hope to capitalize on 'classic' titles only to ultimately botch them, then why would you be anxious for Killer Instinct to get the same treatment....?

also, i think that you're overestimating the appeal of that game; it was really just a low-rent Mortal Kombat if you ask me....
Ok I never said remake or make a new KI, I said simply bring it out to XBLA. I'm sick of a new FPS every friggin week, and MK v.s. DC is the only decent/good fighter to come since.....well hell it's been so long it's like fighting games don't exist anymore!!! SF IV will be great but I am nostalgic in nature possibly even to a flaw......So forgive me if my ideas are little more than overly theatric daydreams.......and when I say MK v.s. DC was decent/good I mean.......ok who needs fighting games long as there's MUGEN right????

well, the game will need some tweaking if not a complete overhaul to go onto Xbox Live, so i wouldn't expect a 100% faithful remake even if it does happen... but i get what you're saying...

as far as fighting games go, they do seem to be on the decline... i'm not huge into that genre, but i've always liked the Tekken and Soul Calibur franchises myself, and am looking forward to Tekken 6. 2D fighting games just don't do it for me. sure, SF was cool when it first hit the arcades, but i'm past that after seeing what a full blown 3D engine can do...

What's all this shit in this thread.

Three words, one expletive: Jet Force Gemini Motherfuckers.

That's what Rare need to get their asses doing.

Killer Instinct was shit. Proof once again that no western developer can make decent fighting games.
Oh hell yes.

i agree with the first statement, but i dont agree that K.I. was shit, i enjoyed playing it on the snes. i feel that looking back on games such as K.I. they become more dated than classics such as street fighter or soul cal.

The reason that KI hasn't dated well (and Mortal Kombat as well) is that they're gimmick driven shit. Now that the gimmick of ZOMG teh bloods and rendered graffix has worn off, you see the games for what they are. Shit.

agreed, the only development MK made was when they gave the player the ability to switch styles while creating combos, other wise its just been the same old same old. but i fail to see how developers can improve on the standard beat 'em up, everything new that they try to change it does just turn into a gimmick

Nintendo own all the characters of Killer Instinct so I doubt that will even happen ever again.

in my oppinion goldeneye was one of the best designed shooters of that generation, regardless of been a bond fan or not it was a gud game, the playsation had no decent multi player fps that even came close to goldeneye or any others on the N64.

Nintendo owns the characters in Killer Instinct? I thought the games were released in the Arcades before they came to the home consoles. Why would RARE give them Killer Instinct? Didn't Midway publish the Arcade game? So couldn't they just release the games on XBOX Live Arcade?

This whole Nintendo owns Killer Instinct thing just doesn't make sense to me.

I can't believe that Microsoft is just sitting on RARE like it's going to suddenly produce rainbows and gold eggs. Killer Instict would be awesome on the 360, if they can legal port it or remake it for the console.

So RARE has put out two mediocre games Kameo and the new Banjo Kazooie, and one big FAIL in Perfect Dark Zero.
Last I checked those games are quite good, since when can you criticise, you probably never played em.

Frank Lucas Jr. said:
Perhaps Microsoft never studied what made RARE a great company, Nintendo was great with them. In my opinion RARE was the best 3rd Party Nintendo ever worked with, Microsoft has been sitting on this gold mine but only pumping out pyrite and poop.
*Cough* Fanboy *Cough*

Frank Lucas Jr. said:
I'm almost certain this has been said before but Microsoft for the love of all things gaming: "Bring Killer Instinct Gold to XBLA!"
Err seriously? Fanboy? Anyone?

I guarantee sales will be huge, capitalize on your assets instead of doing things the hard way making us, the consumer/gamers lose faith in what was once on the most revered developers on Earth.
*Buzzer* Is it "Who isn't a marketing developer?" *Correct 20 points!*

Frank Lucas Jr. said:
Perhaps all the smart people from RARE left or were silenced Dan Rather-style, but it seems all that's left are over-ambitious retards that try and resurrect classics but end up killing them.
So because you don't like them they are universally bad?
Last I checked Nuts and bolts got an average review score of 80%/100%. Same with Perfect Dark Zero, to me you are just trolling excessively.

Frank Lucas Jr. said:
Will we ever see another Perfect Dark or Banjo? Not likely, has my vision of them been tainted forever? Slightly but I have the originals to make up for it.
I would like to bring to light two recent quotes of mine..

Please don't make a new Killer Instinct leave us to our nostalgia and the perfection that is KI Gold.
"Us?" As an intelligent troll said "Games or may I say the technology for games only gets better as technology progresses" Also... "So should we just parrot the game or improve on it with our wonderful space technology?...Odiously the second one you think berk"(Note quotes arne't exact). I agree with those....Further more why should Microsoft listen to you? What have you done? Have you got a degree in marketing? No? Well Microsoft has people that do, thus they know better than you.

The floor is now yours Escapers........

Frank
I take the floor and brutally beat you with it, there I'm done.
Very well put, more or less, however, I am not a troll and am fully aware of what said term means. Fanboy? I don't think I fall into that category either, although it's a little more than obvious that what one thinks of them self means nothing in forum and the points they make (or don't make) speak volumes to those who prey on small nuances (purposefully redundant) and neither contradict nor justify any preceding statement from any party involved in the forum. Any further attempts at defending my words or adjusting them to a proper form will indeed brand and paint me fanboy (not by my own designation but yours) so I threw my two cents in. Microsoft will probably take advice from the company hamster before coming into this thread and even giving a fraction of a damn about my opinion or yours.

FYI I played and completed Kameo and PD Zero and am not one to reward mediocrity, Banjo I never finished because my 360 was apparently female and bled the red ring. I got a new one so all is well I guess, kudos to your remarks as I read and acknowledged them individually......

Talking about Zero dude, PD was the best shooter ever on N64 yes even greater than Goldeneye
yeh i know he was talking about zero
dont give me that shit about N64 with the best shooters they were shit i hated goldeneye and im a HUGE bond fan
Okayyy buddy don't blow a gasket, let's be honest N64 shooters could only be so good one analog stick and small buttons for strafing(default controls) were as effective as telling a two legged dog to go fetch. Sure it would probably work/do it, but so much work for such a simple task? Oh yeah I didn't ask what you were a fan of, that sir, means nothing to me

Goldeneye was more balanced especially in the one player which made it more accessible. I love Perfect Dark but it had so much innovation that it became hit (intelligent SIMS, weapon design N-bomb) and miss (Elvis 'Alien comedy', crap ultimate villians - actually most of the characters were bad).

Goldeneye was all Hit.
