THERE IS A LARGE PLANET SIZED OBJECT CLOSE TO MERCURY. IT IS BLUE-GREEN AND APPEARS TO SUPPORT RUDIMENTARY CARBON-BASED LIFE.
The Russians built a whole planet? This is worse than I thought.

Alien 1: Okay, explain to me why we chose the planet closest closest to this star to land our spaceship.

Alien 2: Cuz it will be cool!

*Both aliens immediately die of hotness*
And the perfectly-functional interstellar starship is claimed by the Russians while the American Government weeps over the financial decisions concerning NASA.

Oh shit.

It's Unicron. Or Galactus. Or the Death Star. We're fucked!

Quick, get me Shia Lebeouf, Jessica Alba, and Mark Hamill!

What? No, they can't save us! Are you crazy? I just want to meet them before we all die!

I actually clicked the video so I could view YouTube's comments section and a poster her a VERY valid point.
Why would you cloak your vessel next to an uninhabited planet?
Furthermore, I ask... Why the hell would you park next to the sun.\
p.s. I think this video is total bullshit. I'm just sayin'.

ITS GALACTUS! Its the only rational explanation!

If it was an Alien craft, they got pretty fucking fried.

It was probably space debris(like asteroids) being irradiated by the solar flare.

1. So that we don't see it, as we wouldn't have without the energy from the sun
2. Maybe they thought that the heat from the sun would keep them from being detected? Or maybe their ship can gather fuel from the sun?

I think it is a mildly menacing rock that was heated from the energy from the sun, but one can hope..

I shall await a response from people who have dedicated their lives to the study of the cosmos, rather than the garbled ramblings of a conspiracy nut.

Although I do hope it's an alien ship, preferably a friendly one, that will share the secret of interstellar travel.
I'm feeling lazy, so I hope they bring us technology that makes it so nobody has to work to live life and get the things they want.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to marathon some TNG episodes.

Thems fightin' words, you better not be dissin' the Trek. Star Trek is in my top 5 best sci-fi shows in history.

Looks kinda like a satellite to me. Maybe its actually close to us and it just happened to be next to mercury in the cameras view.

It's not a ship. The Nasa explanation looks reasonable, and there is no reason for a ship to be orbiting mercury.

You have issue with Star Trek? I'm curious then, what would you suggest?

Also, why the insult? Did I insult you? Did I throw into question your tastes on something?

Or wait, is it that you believe the detritus that came from this video and took offense to my scoffing at it?

I had a guy I work with tell me that the government was conducting a media blackout on just how serious the radiation leak from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactor really was. While he couldn't get into detail.. he said "just don't go outside when it rains." which was ridiculous, we both live roughly three hours away from an area with some of the highest recorded average rainfall in the world. "Good luck with that." was what I told him. For some reason this guy sounds just like the guy I work with. I think I might show him this video. I'll tell him "It's too late for tin foil your fool! Were already dying of cancer!"
