Why on earth would you think that? A planets magnetosphere (look it up) is a naturally occurring phenomena, Our magnetosphere protects us from solar winds, ergo, A planets magnetosphere is it's natural defense from solar winds.Samurai Silhouette said:

this is simply a product of shots over a few days strung into a picture show
the algorithm they use to remove background also shows after images of planets from the day before(CME take a few days).
Well that explains the "dark planet shaped" spot, but what about that bright glow in front of that spot that seems to grow?

Nasa's explanation seems most likely. I lol'd when the guy in the video said 'It's DEFINITELY a manufactured object.' I'm surprised his American heritage didn't force him to shout CONSPIRACY like a paranoid child with torrettes.

1. It doesn't look so obviously like a ship as SiniXter seems to think.
2. Why is it cloaked and how is it that solar radiation makes it visible (wait, isn't solar radiation what allows us to see everything?)
3. Why is it orbiting Mercury, so close to the sun?
4. In order to say it's so obviously a ship means SiniXter would have had to see one for comparison. Where would he have seen one? Sci-fi.
5. The NASA explanation makes sense and accounts for the fact that the shape is odd and changes slightly as the radiation intensifies.
All in all, while I don't like it, I have to call the "I don't know, therefore aliens" summing up of people's responses. People try to compare it to ships they've seen in movies which is made up by humans, and because they don't understand the explanation, they dismiss it as the government covering it up with mumbo-jumbo.
