Prince Torus, Great Channel Island

Prince Torus sighed as the hulking beasts returned to their settlement, leaving the Aurorans in peace. He went back to his headquarters and started drafting a letter to his close friend the Prince Regent, recounting what had happened. He was half-way through when he was interupted by a knock on his door.

"Come in!" he called. The young navigator Aldren poked his head in sheepishly. "Oh come in boy, is there something you want to talk about?"

"Yes, sir," he replied hesitantly, sitting in a seat opposite the elderly man. He stared at the prince for a few moments before blurting out, "Do you think they'll really fight us? The stone-men, I mean."

"Oh, them?" Torus replied with a reassuring smile, "I don't think so, they'd be damn stupid to risk their entire island over one small trading outpost. Then again, you do know what they say about rocks," he added with a laugh.

Aldren still looked worried, and almost embarrassed. The Prince looked at him with concern.

"Is there something you know?"

"Well, there's this, sir," the young navigator reached into his trouser pocket and brought out a small amber orb. In the small cabin it glimmered, almost as if it contained flames. The prince looked closer in amazement.

"What in the Father's name is that?" he exclaimed, before adding, "It's beautiful,"

"I don't know," Aldren admitted, "The old captain of this ship gave it to me at the end of last year, before he passed away. He says he got it from a trader in Pomia. If you look closely into it," he paused and looked around furtively, "you can see visions!"

"Visions?" Torus replied in surprise, "What sort of visions?"

"The future, sir," he said simply, "Well, sometimes what you see happens, sometimes it hasn't. Not yet anyway. The old captain saw his death from fever months before it happened."

The prince could see where this was going.

"Did you see... anything about the Luug?" he asked hesitantly.

"I think I did," the boy said unsurely, "the pictures are hazy, it's difficult to tell."

"May I have a look?"

"Sure," he passed over the orb. Prince Torus looked in and stared long and hard. Just as he thought the young navigator must be high on whale oil, he suddenly saw images of the island drenched in fire and blood as real as if they were happening in front of him, though with a dream-like quality. The club of a brute appeared from nowhere as if flying towards the watcher and then the vision faded as quickly as it had arrived. He looked up at Aldren.

"My gods... there's no time to lose! We must prepare immediately!"

Cytundeb-Bronze Settlement

Daal took the advantage of his ultimatum to get some rest. When he rose from his slumber, he called on a scout to find out if the Aurorans had taken advantage of the opportunity to leave. "No, Chieftain..." The scout reported when he returned. "...they appear to have moved their ships closer to the shore, but they continue their business on the outpost."

"Mhmph..." Daal growled with frustration as he ordered for the guards to be rallied and for his plan to be set in motion. Soon, the Luug mustered their forces, with sharpened claws and bronze chains. However, before they struck out, the leaders of the packs met with Daal for a final meeting.

A silence hung in the air as Daal mused about how to proceed with the attack, his thoughts interrupted by a subordinate. "Orders, Chieftain?"

"Mhmmm..." Daal scratched his chin before finally speaking. "Position your Luug as we planned earlier, as for your attack..." The Chieftain looked down at the rough sketch of the camp he had carved into the sand. "...our objective is to chase these fools off our land. Conduct yourselves to the tenants of the Pale One, don't waste the effort killing those who can't harm you. Once these small-folk flee to the beaches, concern yourselves with tearing down what they've built."

With his orders given, Daal led his forces out to the dunes that surrounded the budding trading post. Under the orange sky of the setting sun, the Aurorans were able to see the Luug amassing, standing like statues readying for the word to charge.

Then, as the last light of the sun fell beneath the horizon, Daal raised his fist into the air. "WWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!" With a Luugish battlecry so loud that the sand began to bellow and erupt into a storm, the Bronze Tribe charged.

3. Disrupt the construction of the Auroran trading post (intended military action).

Gangari - 5/15 AP

Gangari looked at his creation, enraged by the damage caused to it by the coward Cyth'raul. As he felt the pain of his creation he felt the barriers he had built between himself and the reforming influence in his mind failing. He shouldn't have let his guard down so easily, he had seen an attack coming from him and he knew why he had done it, but attacking his child like that was simply bastardic.

The metal of his new eye glowed red hot as he drew up plans within his mind, he would need to prioritize the protection of his followers knowing what would be coming from something of such a mindset. He should of known better than to think things had changed since the old days.

Gangari would spend the next several months (aside from a few occurrences) outside of the view of the world, festering in his rage towards Cyth'raul as he worked.

High Prince Octavius, Nova Verde, Isle of Maia

Octavius was sitting outside in the palace gardens, alone on one of the fine carved wooden benches surrounded by grass. There were no bushes or hiding places anywhere near within hearing distance, after the graffiti that had been left in Vallous' room he couldn't be too careful. The people in his field of vision were his guards, standing in the distance by the palace back doors.

The Prince Regent stared down at the reports he had been handed by the city watch that morning, shaking his head in disbelief at how quickly the discontent had spread. Several octopi had been found roughly painted on buildings around Nova Verde, some repeating the crude message of earlier. Others mentioned him specifically by name. Even worse, one of Lysei's priests, supposedly one who had lead the mobs last week during their attacks on Jashiri's followers, had been found dead with his throat cut.

"Who could this be?" he mused aloud, "Who are these Octopi?" Suddenly he heard a cough behind him.

.

Emperor Maximus I, Nova Verde, Isle of Maia

Octavius looked around to see Maximus staring at him with a frown on his face. It had taken several days for the young Emperor to find a suitable time to approach his uncle alone and he wasn't letting him off the hook that easily.

"What's the matter Max?" Octavius asked with an apologetic look on his face, most likely knowing the coming storm.

"You know what the matter is!" the boy replied angrily, stomping his foot on the ground, "Last week you ordered something in my name, without even asking me!"

"It was for the good of us all," the Prince Regent mumbled guiltily, "Sorry, there wasn't time to discuss it with you,"

"I heard the news, you don't have to hide it from me," Maximus snapped, "People were killed out there in the city, burned in my name,"

"But... but... oh, you're right," Octavius sighed, putting his head in his hands. "On the day I flew I was not like me at-all. It's this power Lysei has given me..." he opened a hand, letting flames dance across his palms for a moment, "I feel different, somehow, I'm still getting used to it."

"Why did Lysei give you a power?" Maximus asked suspiciously. Octavius looked around and decided there was no point hiding it any-longer.

"Me and Lysei have met several times recently," he admitted, "He's going to help us make Aurora a better place Maximus, he has the power that no-one else has and is willing to use it! Don't you see?"

"How do you know you can trust him though?" the young Emperor asked, choosing his words carefully, "What if he isn't as good as he say he is? Vallous told me that he has a slave named the Weaver who kills people for him, is that true?"

"Hm, it used to be," Octavius said slowly, "but not any-more, we agreed he would stop doing that," he noted, before adding reassuringly, "And he only killed bad people who were breaking the law, you don't have anything to worry about Max,"

"What are the families and children he burned at the same time, were they all bad too?" Maximus asked pointedly.

Octavius stood up and then with a groan bent down so he was looking the young Emperor straight in the eyes.

"I don't know the answer to that Maximus but I really am sorry, I got caught up in the moment that's all. I never meant to ignore you, believe me that's the last thing I want. Come, give your old uncle a hug,"

Maximus still felt annoyed at Octavius but let himself be drawn into the big man's embrace. He playfully bit Octavius' arm to show he hadn't given up resistance quite yet.

"From now on, we'll work as a team, deciding everything together," the Prince Regent said comfortingly, "How's that sound?"

"Even battle plans?" Maximus' eyes lit up, he and Kaius used to discuss mock battle plans all the time.

"Sure, should we make some plans for the battle in Lot-Vos right now? I'll send them off tonight and in a week they'll get there,"

"Yeah!" the Emperor said excitedly, before adding, "What about the rebels though Uncle, what are you going to do about them?"

"Huh," Octavius sighed, it seemed impossible to keep anything from the boy. "Well, don't you worry Max, we've got the very best on the case. Remember the Weaver we were talking about? Her name is Katalia and she's now staying here in the palace, tracking down the terrorists who threatened Vallous."

"A lady is our best?" Maximus snorted incredulously, though privately he noted the information in his mind to tell the other Octopi later.

"She has fire powers and everything," Octavius shrugged, "Don't ask me why! So, do we have a deal?"

"Deal," Maximus replied happily and the two shook hands. In his mind though questions were whirling, did this mean Octavius had helped Lysei assassinate his brother? He couldn't believe that, it was so unlike Octavius he knew and was laughing with right now. Either his uncle knew nothing he decided, or he had been brainwashed so entirely that he didn't know what he was doing. "Either way," the young Emperor thought, "I'll find out and rescue him from it. But how...?"

Nelind's Estate

Lord Roland clattered along the dark road, his horse feeling wearier by the minute.

"Come along, old girl," he patted the beast. Behind the strong, athletic thirty year noble rode his trusted manservant and bodyguard Domin, and two surly-looking Maian natives from the nearest village who had been hired to show them around the place. He thought their names were Xin and Tai, or something like that. He hadn't really wanted to come to the windswept north of Maia at this time of year, especially not during Nova Verde's top courtship season, but his father Lord Olin had been most insistent on him visiting the estate of the Nelind family. He had money invested in the company they ran, apparently, and so was concerned by odd reports coming from the area.

"Probably all rubbish," Roland thought to himself as they finally reached the gates of the estate, "Father hope I haven't come all this way for nothing"

As Roland approached the gates, he was greeted by the great gate. It was made of iron and was state of the art. A series of levers and pulleys allowed it to open and close, powered usually by slaves. Nelind had issues with escaping slaves in the past, highlighted by the escape of Vallous, and had erected a massive gate designed to let not a single person out, although getting in was relatively simple. One only needed to turn the wheel put near the gate. The gate would then stay open for a few minutes, allowing easy travel inside the great processing plant.

"This doesn't look too complicated," Roland mused, "Tai, you stay here so you can open the gate again when we get back,"

"I'm Xin, he's Tai" grunted the man.

"Whatever," Roland sighed, "Just do what we're paying you for. Come along you two," he gestured at Domin and Tai, who followed him silently as with a heave and grunt Xin used the wheel to open the gate.

As Xin moved the wheel, Roland could hear a thump as several fully armored corpses collapsed. The inside of the gate had scratches and blood scattered all about it. Strangely, quite a few of the corpses had been drained of all fluids, supported only by bones, the skin had pruned up. Those still in tact had looks of abject horror frozen on their dead faces. At least one was impaled onto the wall itself.

"What the fuck?" Roland exclaimed to his two servants, "Either of you ever seen anything like this?"

They shook their heads. Part of Roland wanted to turn around his horse at that very moment and return to the safety of the nearby village, but the last thing he wanted was for his father to hear that he'd had given up like a coward, so he kept going through the gate until they were inside the estate.

As the trio entered the estate, the gate began to close behind them, pushing most of the bodies along with it. A few slid under the gate and Roland could hear their bones crush under the weight of the massive gate. Finally, the gate had closed behind them entirely, and they looked upon the massive estate Nelind owned. Tai, pointed out the three main buildings. On the far right was the slave quarters, where Nelind housed the workers. In the middle was the processing plant, the cornerstone of achievement, some claimed. It could organize, sort, pack, salt and send out thousands of fish per hour. To the left of that building, was Nelind's personal mansion. A beautiful home typically, but most of the wood was damaged, some holes could clearly be seen, and not a single candle was lit.

The three rode up to the Nelind mansion and dismounted, Domin whistling at the damage around the house.

"Raiders yer think?" he said aloud.

"I've never heard of any raiders this far north, not in this century," Roland replied, before shouting loudly, "Anyone at home?" He knocked heavily on the door twice in the hope there would be some kind of response.

All was silent, the door however, appeared to be weakened and swung open after the second knock. It was far too dark inside for Roland to see anything.

"Huh?" Roland looked at the other two, shrugged and then walked into the mansion, his hands on his sword strapped to his right hip. Domin followed him in a similar manner, Tai following up the rear making the sign of the Father with his fingers as he did so.

As their eyes adjusted to the darkness, Roland could see just how expansive the mansion was. A spiral staircase led upstairs, but he could also see at least five different doors on this floor alone. Roland after examining his surroundings, heard footsteps from the other side of the fifth door. After a while, he could also hear the unsheathing of a sword from the door.

"I think there's someone behind that door," Roland whispered to the two servants, each drawing their blades as quietly as they could. "Come out, whoever you are," he called out, "You have nothing to fear, this is Lord Roland, son of Lord Olin, from the Imperial Court in Nova Verde,"

"Liar!" Roland heard. "You're in league with them! You just want to draw me out so you can take me away. I won't let you do it." Roland could hear nervous laughter slowly fade away from the door. Whoever was there, clearly was on the move.

"No, that isn't true," Roland said hesitantly, trying to work out if the voice belonged to a man, woman or child, "We're just hear to ask some questions, that's all. About what's been happening here, on this estate, that is,"

"Trying to figure out what I know huh? Is that it? Want to know what I told the others before they escaped? I won't do it, you monsters!" The voice clearly belonged to a man, though it was fairly shrill. Roland barely had time to react before Tai pointed out a man on top of the stairs with a bow drawn. He was loading an arrow.

Before he knew it, Roland found himself thrust aside by Domin, who covered the lord's body with his own. His sword was drawn as he stared angrily up at the man holding the bow.

"I wouldn't do that lad, there's three of us and one of yer" he called up, "At best yer'd have one chance to take one of us down before the other two reached yer with their swords!"

The man looked around for a few moments, saw his odds and looked defeated. "They?they made it right?" Was his final words before his feet were grabbed from under him and he was dragged away into the mansion. The trio could hear his screams get cut short. A gurgle escaped him before it was clear the man was dead.

"What the fuck is this place?" Roland exclaimed in horror, "Lets get the hell out of here,"

"I agree," Domin replied, "Yer father would have my head if I let anything happen to yer, Father forbid, we leave at once,"

Tai nodded and and three started to stride towards the front door, weapons still drawn.

The trio managed to exit without any problems. The light from the moon was a bit blinding, but their eyes adjusted to it. The trio found themselves with the fishing plant nearby. They had just started to notice the very clear stench of rotted fish that was coming from the main plant. It would likely only get worse if they wanted to continue exploring.

"Perhaps we leave now?" Tai asked hopefully, "That bad place, very bad stories about that plant,"

"Whoever thought of putting so much fish in one place?" Roland sniffed at the stench, "Terrible idea,"

"What there is that?" Domin pointed to the slave quarters next to the plant, the three drew closer to get a closer look.

The slave quarters, while not in any way ugly, stood out as being significantly less beautiful than either the packing plant or the mansion. In fact, it was by all rights simply unremarkable. Unlike the other buildings owned by Nelind which were made of wood, this one was made of stone, like many other Maian homes. As Domin came closer to one of the windows, he could hear an audible sobbing. It was clearly a man's but he could tell little else.

"No... no..." Tai muttered to himself as the other two approached the slave quarters but he followed regardless. "Who are you?" Lord Roland called out to the mysterious person, "Do you need help? We're from the capital, we can take you out of here!" And tell us more about what's been going on in this place, he thought privately to himself.

As Roland approached the sobbing, the smell of death began to permeate the air. Every step echoed through the vast rooms until finally he reached the last door. The person behind it had not answered, he was still sobbing uncontrollably. The stench of death clearly was coming from the room.

Roland went for the door handle but his loyal bodyguard stopped him, silently insisting on opening it himself. The noble rolled his eyes but let Domin get on with it, the man slowly cracking open the door while keeping an eye on whatever might lie behind.

If Domin was wondering where the rest of the outer guards had gone, well he supposed he had found it. These bodies were not drained, they had been impaled, slashed, gored, bitten, eviscerated, mutilated or any other terrible fate that one could reach in battle. In the middle of all this death, an unarmed man in rags looked up at the trio and stared.

"What the..." Domin exclaimed at the sight of the murdered guards, never in all his days had he seen a scene so brutal. He thought he heard Roland swearing and Tai vomiting behind him. He himself couldn't do much more than stare back at the man in rags in front of them.

"The?the monsters took them. They took them away. They brought these back and said that I can watch over them instead. They took all the slaves, except me." The man kept rambling for a while, saying just about the same thing over and over again.

Roland and Domin looked each other, both thinking the same thought. Mad? Insane or not, he was their only living witness so they strode in together, each taking an arm and started dragging the man from the room. "We've come to take you somewhere safe," Roland told the man reassuringly.

"Nowhere is safe! They are everywhere! They come and they crawl and they catch and they drag! The monsters are here! Nelind has doomed us all!" The man started sobbing again as the trio dragged him out.

"Uh huh," Roland looked at the other two. "I think it's time to leave, for real now. We've got a witness, lets get to safety and then find out what happened. We can always return later with reinforcements."

Domin grunted in agreement and Tai nodded eagerly, pale from his recent sickness. The trio slowly walked back to the gate, keeping a lookout for any other threats lurking in the shadows.

As they reached the gate and began to yell for Xin to open it for them, they were met with silence. The gate looked untouched since they had last gone to it, but Xin was simply not responding. The man they had brought with them started laughing. "I knew it?we are stuck! The only way out is through Nelind's exit and that's in the packing plant itself! I bet more than anything that is where they took the slaves."

Roland sighed. "You never can rely on these locals, I guess we'll have to go out through the other exit."

The four men began to walk back through the estate, up to the processing plant. They covered their noses as they approached, the stink seemed even worse than last time.

The packing plant was possibly the largest building Roland had ever come across. It was larger than most palaces and clearly had some of the best architectural design in the entire kingdom of Aurora. As Roland went inside to the main lobby, he could see stone ramps running in all directions. The ramps were inexplicably smooth and he could guess that normally there would be fish running through them. Where they came from and where they led to, he guessed Nelind didn't want to show. The man accompanying them took every step cautiously and would freeze occasionally. "They are somewhere in here. I know it, they have to be."

"We should be fine, don't yer worry," Domin said gruffly, holding his sword ahead of him as they were lead by the ragged man through the plant. Tai muttered prayers and mantras as they walked through empty hallways, clearly suspicious of the place's aura. Roland heard the native invoking the Emperor's name a couple of times and silently put out his own prayer that they would make it through to safety.

"Whoever knew that young Master Nelind and his mother were making so much money?" he wondered aloud, "I daresay this place rivals the Imperial Palace in size, though sadly not in upholstery," he chuckled grimly to himself.

"Mistress Nelind manages the biggest fish plant on a nation of islands. Of course she is doing well." The man began, he seemed to be gaining his nerve back. "I helped her get this far by keeping the slaves in line and being her personal butler. The boy was just a proxy for her greatness. It's strange though, slowly she began to draw away from things, gave the boy more control of the business, said the Father had given her powers beyond our comprehension. I was not in a position to question her, but I can't help but wonder if this is punishment for our treatment of Vallous, I know the Father cares deeply about the slaves for some unexplainable reason." The man began to move through doors with a sense of urgency, rather than fear and said "The controls are down inside the plant, typically five slaves will activate it and then the gate would be guarded for a time while it stayed open. If we can get there, then leave, I think it will be possible for us to escape this nightmare."

"Wait, the Vallous? Prophet of Lysei?" Roland couldn't help himself exclaiming, "I'd heard rumors about why the late Emperor Kaius, Father rest his soul, pardoned Vallous but I didn't know he used to work here. Huh..." he considered the ragged man's proposal, "Well, it sounds better than any idea I've got, let's do that," Domin and Tai nodded in agreement,.

As the four descended into the plant, the smell of rotted fish only got stronger. The butler explained that they were headed towards the sorting quarter and that most of the fish would be brought there before being salted. Without the slaves running the plant however, they simply would have a massive pileup of dead fish. It was during this, that they reached the first drop point, as the butler described it. "The drop points are designed to make the plant difficult to traverse, basically we store most of our equipment in a large room and then hide the stairwells in order to discourage exploration by the slaves or our guests." The butler walked down the final step and picked up the lantern next to the door. The stairs were still lit by candles, but the inside of the drop point was pitch black. "I'm afraid this will likely be our only source of light from here on." The butler took one of the candles off the wall and lit the lantern. As he did so, he revealed a few figures quickly scattering away from the light.

"Let's... be quick," Tai murmured and the others nodded, following the butler down into the depths of the plant. The smell was terrible and Roland was sure he could feel the gazes of unknown figures hiding in the dark on his skin.

As the butler navigated the drop point, it was clear they were being followed. They could hear at the tip tap of footsteps moving closer, though it wasn't heavy like boots, it was delicate, almost like knives on the floor. Not getting close enough for the Butler, who occasionally made a jerking motion to try and capture one of the creatures in the light, but close enough to observe.

"Show yerself, or leave!" Domin called out from the rear to the figure following the group, holding out his sword as he did so.

The second Domin raised his sword, he could feel something grab at it. He wasn't sure what, but it was trying to take his weapon.

"Gah!" the bodyguard shouted and swung the blade wildly into the darkness, attempting to hack at whatever was lurking there. The others looked around in alarm at what was happening behind them.

As Domin swung his weapon around, he felt himself lose more and more control of it. Right at the last moment, the butler swung the lantern over just in time to see that it was wrapped in something that could only be described as spider webs, before being ripped off into the darkness.

"Run!" the bodyguard shouted and the four tore along the drop point as fast as it could be safely navigated, Domin holding up with the rear with a small dagger he'd drawn from somewhere.

"We need to get out of here quickly!" Roland said loudly to no-one in particular.

As the four ran, they could hear laughter behind them. It was clearly not human, having a very grainy sound to it, almost as if someone's vocal cords had been replaced with sandpaper. The Butler quickly found the stairs and began to run down them without any intention of turning around to see what was laughing.

The trio followed the ragged butler closely, with Roland in front, Tai close behind him and Domin guarding the rear. The noble took a quick glance behind him and thought he caught a glimpse of the thing out of the corner of his eye, turning back he wished he hadn't.

As the four descended the stairs, the butler slammed the wall next to him and a passage quickly opened. He slipped inside it and motioned for them to follow him.

They leapt after him into the passageway, hoping that whatever had swallowed up Domin's sword would not notice their change in direction.

The butler quietly closed the passage and sat down. He whispered to the others. "This is one of the chambers Nelind would use if the estate was raided. Simply put, it's hard to find and easy to hide in. We can take a break and let the monsters scurry about aimlessly."

"What are these... monsters?" Roland whispered breathlessly, "Dark magic or heresy?"

"Heresy? I don't understand how they could fit under that category. Dark magic would be more likely, but I can only wonder if Nelind is responsible for this." The butler sighed and looked up. "Was that our only weapon they took?"

"Heresy, as in rebellion against the Father's order of nature," Roland replied, recalling his tutor teaching him the distinction as a child, "If those things aren't against the order of nature, I don't know what is," He shrugged, "I've got my sword here, and Domin and Tai each have a dagger remaining."

"It's not like it matters." The butler sighed. "Our guards are heavily armed but you saw how they faired. I think it's best we try to be more subtle from here on. I don't know if we can beat these things in a fight."

"Yeah," Domin nodded quietly, "Whatever magic they is, I dunno if any mortal blade can take 'em down. We got to be quiet."

The butler scanned around the room for a while, and put his hand on the wall. He hesitated, if only for a moment and then pushed it open, similarly to how he entered. He quickly motioned for the others to follow him and began to descend once more.

The three followed the man, praying to every god they could think of that the thing wouldn't return. Their hands kept returning to their stowed blades, just to check they were still there.

The butler finally, after what seemed like ages, reached the bottom of the second stairwell and hit another drop point. This one was fairly small, as it wasn't designed to throw off guests or keep people in line. A large array of filleting knives, salts and other packing equipment glimmered in the light of the torch as behind the four, they could hear something else go down the stairs.

"What is that?" Tai hissed.

"Quick!" Roland whispered back, "Let's move before it catches up!"

A whisper came through the room, one that was entirely alien. It was from the stairwell. "Clever little prey" it hissed in a gravely manner. "I can't wait to find you." it said before laughing again. This prompted the butler to begin running. He wasn't looking behind himself anymore to ensure the others were keeping up. He just wanted to make it out of there, and he looked as if he knew exactly where to go.

The trio followed closely at his heels, anything to get away from the disembodied voice behind them. Tai let out a cry as he stumbled, falling behind the pack.

At the sound of Tai's cry, the trio heard the sticking of knives on the floor, exactly like before. They had purpose and aim now, and were moving quite rapidly in the direction of the scream.

Roland looked behind him but didn't stop, he barely knew Tai and wasn't going to risk his life for the native, not when he had so much to live for. He hoped the man would escape somehow.

The butler took a sharp left as Roland looked behind him and disappeared into a crevice just outside of his view. Apparently, not wanting to be caught, the butler extinguished the light of his lantern, leaving Roland, Tai and Domin in the darkness. The pitter patter of knives was getting closer as well, the trio could hear one of the filleting knives clang against a few other assorted metal objects, the creature was armed.

"Ready yerselves!" Domin whispered hurriedly as Tai rejoined the other two and the three all drew their blades, not sure if it would do much but all other options seemed exhausted as this point. Roland looked around the group.

"Where the hell is the butler?" he hissed.

"The butler?" The voice responded. "Is he here too? Some people just never listen." It was then, under the cover of darkness, that the trio realized the voice was on top of them. The creature was pretty clearly using the storage shelves to travel.

"What are yer?" Domin said, the big man trembling slightly, "Show yerself!"

Domin could hear a slight chuckle as the creature began to get closer. He could hear it breathing as the butler shined a light directly out from where he was. The light struck Domin and he could, for a moment, see the creature above him. It was a massive Drider, with a spider's abdomen and human torso. It was covered in a shiny black carapace and had four massive eyes, along with two large fangs that stuck out of its mouth. The creature's eyes grew wide in the light and it leaped on top of Domin.

"Ahhh!" the bodyguard screamed as the spider set upon him and he waved his dagger desperately but it was too late. Within movements the creature had chewed off one of his arms and then went straight for the throat, bright red blood spurting everywhere. With a yell Roland stuck his sword into the creature's abdomen, determined to take at-least one of the creatures with them.

The creature let out a horrifying squeal and darted off away from Domin's corpse. It left a bright red trail behind it and quickly disappeared into the darkness. Tai and Roland could hear its legs quickly run up the stairs, though they seemed to be moving slightly slower, until they heard a thud. The butler whispered. "Hurry you fools! Get in the dumbwaiter!" Light still shining towards them.

Tai jumped for the dumbwaiter and dragged Roland along with him, the noble still staring at the corpse of his dead servant and friend. He could hardly believe what had just happened, so alive one moment, now nothing more than a pile of flesh on the ground. Instinctively he made the sign of the Father, hoping that Domin's soul would find it's way to the paradise.

The butler, seeing the two in with him began to bring the dumbwaiter down. He was operating the ropes and remained silent, except for saying "We are headed to the packing part of this plant." Then he stopped talking, almost refusing to accept what he just saw.

The other two also remained silent, their thoughts fixed on both the fleetingness of earthly life and also whether they would make it out of the plant that night. Tai thought about his wife and children back in the village, while Roland remembered his father's lessons and also a sweetheart he'd met last summer. Maybe he'd meet her again, if he could get out of this place alive.

As they approached the bottom, the butler let go of the rope and let the dumbwaiter slowly sink. The stench of rotted fish at this point was unbearable. It was entirely consuming the room and leaked into the dumbwaiter. The butler turned to the others and said "Are you ready to move forward?"

Roland and Tai nodded silently, stepping out while holding their noses. They probably would have thrown up at this point, if they hadn't already vomited their guts out back up on the surface.

The butler slowly pulled open the dumbwaiter's doors and walked into the total blackness. He had turned off his lantern to save some of the oil in it, but he, and the other two could hear something. He could hear chewing and munching and quick conversations. The butler froze with fear.

Roland and Tai froze behind him, unsure what to do. The last thing they wanted was to catch the attention of another one of those abominations.

The butler couldn't lounge around any longer. He turned on his lantern and saw. He saw the Driders eating the fish. They didn't care it was rotted, because their venom dissolved it all anyway. The creatures paid him no mind, even if he shined a light on their face. They were ravenously eating the fish and it was only when he pointed the light at the top of the fish pile that he could see a gigantic Drider at least two times as big as the others. She looked down at him and sighed. "My scouts reported four of you. I told the others not to attack. Please tell me one of you just got lost."

"He was attacked, by your things, we all were!" Roland said angrily, "Who are you anyway?"

"If you all were attacked by my children, then I believe you would be dead. I am Chelisare, Nestmother of those you see here. Probably a rogue agent who was too excited from the battle attacked your friend." Roland could see Nelind strung up on a web behind Chelisare, along with her nephew. Nelind looked relatively unharmed, though she was unconscious, but her nephew had been stabbed with a kitchen knife and was pretty clearly dead.

"What happened here?" Roland asked hesitantly, "I mean, where did those... where did you come from?"

"Mother Nelind created me, she says the Father wanted her to. The rest, I gave birth to. As for why all the guards are dead?it's a long story." Chelisare sighed and looked behind her. "Nelind was not well, and attacked her own nephew, he had grown close with the other children and they defended him as best they could. Nelind quickly fell and the guards finally noticed us. When they did, they declared us all monsters and tried to kill us. So we defended ourselves. Some of us?were a bit extra judicious in handling them, but it was self defense."

Roland didn't know what to reply for a few moments, until something he thought was odd came to mind.

"If what you say is true, what happened to all the slaves? I have it on record that the Nelind Estate was one of the largest slave-holders in the region, did they try to fight you too?"

"Before the majority of the fighting occurred, we took them to the lower levels of the estate in order to keep the guards from handing them weapons and ordering them to fight. They did not have much room to argue. Neither did their master." Chelisare said before glaring down at the butler. "We soon will be leaving Aurora to find an actual home. This place?has too many bad memories. You may escort the slaves back to whomever would be in charge of them. I will ensure you don't run in to much more trouble here."

"Thank you," Roland replied with a shiver, "Damn, Domin was a good man, he didn't deserve to die in that way. I hope whoever was responsible will be held to account,"

The man looked around and then up at the ceiling where Nelind was still suspended.

"What is to happen to the lady?"

"She will never wake up. The toxins from her wounds will never allow it. We could keep her alive, but she is practically dead already. If you wish, you could take her back. Perhaps some form of magic may come about to help her. Or perhaps Lysei would help her, if she stays with us then she will remain suspended."

"Eh..." Roland didn't really have much interest in the woman but his father had sent him here to check on her, he could hardly leave her behind now. Besides, with her nephew dead the men of his family might be legally responsible for her now, he'd have to check a family tree when he got home.

"I'll take her," he called up, "Although from what I've heard about the god Lysei, the great volcano of Pesh would freeze over before he'd help a slave owner!"

"So be it, human." Chelisare told three other Driders to move Nelind to Roland, they proceeded to wrap her up in webbing and then handed her to him. "These three shall guide you to the slaves, and out of the estate. Now go, we have preparations to make."

"Farewell," Roland said with somewhat gritted teeth, he hadn't forgotten Domin but he realised he wasn't in a position to argue now. He passed the wrapped woman to Tai, who slung her on his shoulders, before following the three Driders out of the chamber.

-----------------------------------

Across Aurora

The Driders quickly left Nelind's estate. They headed for the Capital of Aurora, to meet with its leaders and to avoid further misconceptions. They would travel through the night, and rumors quickly spread through Aurora of spider-folk. No two stories were the same, but those who truly knew about them, kept their mouths shut. For now, anyway.

Lysei, Kaius' funeral ship

In a way, he had come to pay his respects. Lysei would not wait for Octavius to send him the ashes, not when he could go to them himself. He was invisible to any mortals who might show up, and even if they stood right below him, they would not hear anything he said. Thus, he could speak his mind, and not give anyone nightmares. Lysei looked at the urn and sighed.

"I had hoped it would not come to this. Damn it all you needed to do was see, I guess that was my failing. I assumed anyone who saw what I did would naturally come to my conclusions, but you denied them. You refused to accept their reality and now?well you were warned. They say we learn the most from our enemies, and if Jikashi taught me anything, it was that we can't compromise on a job we want done. I should have just killed you the day we met, I wanted to, but I thought I could change you. Now I see mortals for what they truly are, and I have you to thank for that."

Lysei ensured nobody was around and opened the urn, he looked inside and chuckled. He reached down and slowly touched the ashes, half to see if they were real. "I guess, this is goodbye-" Lysei stopped. This?this was not Kaius, the soul that once inhabited these ashes?was some nobody who lived nearby. Who could have managed this? Lysei knew the answer, Kaius was alive, and Jikahsi had already acted before they fought. He put the ashes back and left the ship. He looked into the sky and laughed. "I guess there is a second chance for everything, isn't there?"

Cyth'raul, Highcrag → Cytundeb → Highcrag - 11/15 AP

Cyth'raul would have quickly carried out the foul deed if were not for a sweet, sweet prayer that was carried across the aether to the deity's ears. It felt good. Cyth'raul then chose to leave the deed for later, as not to sully the benevolence of the prayer.

However, the Pactforger's spirits sank as the island of Cytundeb came into view and a rather loud battle cry assaulted Cyth'raul's ears. In a flash, the deity appeared behind what appeared to be the leader of the Luug aggressors and cast a haunting whisper into his mind.

"Do your war cries leave you deaf?! This is an island meant for trade, not war. Or do you want to join it in the depths of the ocean?"

Daal's charge slowed, but the Bronze Tribe continued unabated to attack the outpost. "What timing, this one..." Daal thought to himself before responding. "Apologies Cyth'raul, I know you claimed one of the islands that appeared above the sea, but not which one...and this island was too tempting to ignore claiming."

Pausing for a moment, Daal looked to his Tribe, smashing through the walls of the outer settlement like how a child kicks down the walls of a sand castle. "These small-folk did attempt to warn me that this island was under your sole claim, but I could not risk the chances of a trick. My Tribe would be shamed if we allowed weaklings to assert their presence upon us."

Continuing to carry the air of a leader so that his Luug wouldn't question why Daal was hanging back, the Bronzed One continued. "My Tribe has dug roots into this island, a pool now rests within the bedrock. These Aurorans have nothing here, nothing to live for....and nothing to offer."

There was a hiss that cut through the spiel, "Stop the attack, now."

Daal snorted, though mainly to blow sand out of his face rather than to taunt the god. With a growl that rivalled the ferocity of his battlecry, Daal brought the battle to a standstill. Luug almost froze in place like statues, shrugging off the weak attacks of the laborers that remained.

"The Bronze Tribe has established a claim on this island, Cyth'raul, though out of ignorance of your decree. However, if you honor our claim, I will make sure that no Luug that dwells on this island fails to pay proper reverence to your benevolence." Daal walked into the half-destroyed settlement and looked around, glancing over the confused looks of his subordinates. "Do these Aurorans even contribute to your glory? What do they gain from this gift you've given them except for another place to extend their petty greed?"

"I have received thanks from them while you snatch this piece of land up like a spoiled child." Cyth'raul continued, the tone of the words ever souring, "My foundation is my word; do you wish for me to break that?"

A arm reached out to the sky and suddenly the bit of sky above Cytundeb darkened as cloud gathered, just as the whispers inside the deity's mind hissed and swarmed about singing of ill intentions.

Accompaying that was a little speech, "Do you wish to know something about this island? It is a symbol of my benevolence and you have soiled it with violence. You are the ones who fail to pay proper reverence to my benevolence - shall I carry out that part of your proposal now?"

"We are Luug..." Daal stopped himself from reciting the Pale One's words. Instead, he chose a path that he thought more appealed to the god, a path that Jugaan might be proud of. "If this island is your benevolence, then you show it in an odd way. You did not create them, nor raise them from that sea, you lowered the sea to allow these places to touch the sky, isn't that right? My Tribe has settlements by the edges of the gulf, and your draining of the waters dried out the lands we toiled on."

"It's because of the water receding that my Tribe had to look elsewhere for immediate supplies. The Bronze Tribe is the largest of the Deep Tribes, demanding more resources than almost half of our people. Where else to base ourselves to answer the dire need for food than an island? The largest of which was the only one we could dig our caves into." Daal paused for a moment, his mind foggy with the frustration of having to put up for Cyth'raul's aggression and the guilt that came from knowing it was himself from putting his Tribe in such a position.

"I claimed this land out of ignorance of your wishes, and for that I'm sorry." Daal knelt in a supplicant pose to the cloud above, shocking both Luug and Auroran alike. "But my Luug do not deserve this fate, for they only follow my lead."

"I see..." Cyth'raul replied in a low tone eyes narrowing.

With one flick of a finger, the deity could easily act on its word and send the island back into the ocean depths. A thought of raising ocean levels back to what they were brought some amusement to Cyth'raul's mind: if the Luug was correct, doing that would both solve the issue of the land drying up and that of the island's ownership. However, there was an opportunity here. The little test involving Cytundeb and the rest of the islands were indeed leading to interesting things.

The deity looked down on Daal and as said as if a judge was giving out a sentence, "This I will admit: I have half a mind to damn this island and everything on it to the watery depths, currently. However, there is a subdued whisper of letting you live here. Of course, you will have to operate your own trade post here and let anyone trade with you, just like the others."

With a flick of the fingers, the book then faded away. "I do hope you will remember my benevolence, if that turns out to be the case, and not challenge it."

"That is more than fair, Cyth'raul. I shall see to it that all Luug who dwell here will make sure to pay proper respects." With his agreement, Daal rose from his submissive kneel.

With a new roar, Daal called out to his Luug in their native tongue. "Cyth'raul spares us this day! Let it be folly for us to forsake this great gesture! Let the small-folk flee, I will bathe in the remains of those who spill their innards!"

Cyth'raul faded away from view while broadcasting the terms of the new deal to the nearby Aurorans and a minor threat to Daal of what would happen if there was any more bloodshed.

And now, it was time to get back to business with a return to the seat of the Deep Tribes. Regardless of already having the Bronze Tribe's allegiance, a Pact was a Pact. Penned in the Tome of Treaties by the Pactforger itself, even. Once more, the deity hid innermost mortals with an ethereal form and then searched out those with Gangari's gift. They marked themselves out as those who creating swirling and glowing... scribbles. Many had decorated themselves with these. Mere mortals given magic to play with like it was a toy... The mere concept disgusted the Whisper In The Dark - both arcane and divine sorcery were not toys for the clumsy, fleeting things of flesh. And so, they would know Cyth'raul's rage. The curse would be a simple one: those which had benefited of Haaken and Gangari's generosity would be visited by haunting whispers and night terrors, not to mention the runes would carve themselves deeper and deeper into the flesh as time when on. However, the whispers would also tell the cursed of a cure: a Pact.

Some bitter guidance indeed. Warped, even, however that was of little concern to Cyth'raul.

EmperorZuma: Assign 2 Pop. Units to the worship of Cyth'raul.

*This will be a rather short post, as I am still busy + not much to do*

Wolf-Keal was pleased with the efforts of his troops to push back the invaders, and many a promotion were given to those who helped with the push. Regardless, now was a time to wait and push back against the invaders.

Meanwhile, in the capital, many new military techniques were being researched, a tool on necessity.

Emperor Kaius III, Vance, Nova Aurora

"You think these Octopi people are the real deal?"

Several weeks had passed and Kaius was getting tired of the Cassian Estate. It was a pleasant enough place but he missed the hubbub of his palace, and that every day that passed was another day of Octavius using his younger brother to fulfil his twisted agenda.

"It seems like it," Lord Cassian replied with a shrug, "They produced some quite convincing evidence. Their leader calls himself 'the Phantom', my source wasn't able to identify who he was but he almost certainly lives in Nova Verde, a high up noble in the Imperial Court by the sounds of it."

"A source inside the palace?" Kaius breathed, "I could get in contact with Prima through him, maybe even Maximus!"

"They seem to think Lysei killed you, interestingly enough,"

"I wouldn't be surprised if he had some sort of hand in this, especially after what Jashiki told me." He wondered briefly how the water god was doing, he still offered up the occasional prayer despite the lack of replies lately. He hoped he was doing okay.

Eventually, it was decided that Kaius and Lord Cassian would travel together to the tiny isle of Verde, off the coast of Maia. They would be accompanied by a small group of trusted contacts and travel off the beaten track, in places where few had any inkling of what the last faraway Emperor across the sea looked like and fewer cared anyway. Kaius would be disguised for an extra layer of security. Lady Cassian would stay behind to hold the estate. Once they were there, they would make further contact with the resistance movement. Finally, there was just the matter of how much to tell the Octopi so far.

"We can't tell them you're alive, it's too risky," Cassian said, "Octavius and whoever else still think you're dead, they won't be looking for you and we can't throw away that advantage just yet."

"A codename, like our friend Mr Phantom?" Kaius inquired.

"Yes, that's what I was thinking. Any ideas?"

"I think I'll go with the Phoenix," the Emperor replied with a small smile, "Risen again from the dead, more powerful than ever,"

Jashiki, Cytundeb, 0/15 AP

Falling to the island below fast and heavy Jashiki hits the side of a rocky hill and plast's out part of it. Sitting up slowly and shaking his head to get the rock dust out of his face he looks up to the already gone god who threw him down here. Standing slowly and putting his hand over the socket of the ripped out eye he can feel an anger welling up inside of him because of what had been done to him.

Stretching slowly and looking around he doesn't recognize the land he is on. Standing tall and looking out at the water he remembers the words that had been whispered to him right before he had been thrown down here. Smiling thinly at the prospect Jashiki walks to the top of the hill and sits down, the little reserve of power he has and the weakness something new and terrifying. While sitting there he can feel the wisp's of prayer from many people. Feeling a few from Kaius sending a few as he sits there. Reaching back over that thread and the thread from the wave master he speaks shortly to each of them.

"I was attacked, Lysei surprise attacked me and my eye was taken. Wave master, keep my island protected and kill any and all who seek to take it. Kaius, soon you may be found out. If he is taking an interest in me than he will go looking for anything concerning me. Be safe both of you, i will return soon with my full power again."

Cyth'raul, Highcrag - 11/15 AP

What was of concern to the deity was the opening move of against the occupiers of the island, it was evident that they had changed and now had a Pact with the Pactforger. That left the little lizard mutt without a job. However, Cyth'raul was quick to rectify the situation with a simple message to Jashiki detailing the terms of the new Pact and stating that his assignment had changed to enforcing it. Being a being of divine power was hard work, having to manage all sorts of things, it seemed.

Jashiki, Cytundeb, 0/15 AP

Looking up as new whispers slide into his mind Jashiki shakes his head sharply at the invasion. Looking down at the island and sighing he looks down at his hands and can still feel that his power is lacking, and even with it it would take careful watching to keep this place free of violence.

Crossing his arms and looking down at the island Jashiki looks to the north and tilts his head.
It is not to different than what i have lawed on my own island, in fact... Yes, much easier is to let my benders watch over the island here and tell all who come here that they are under my protection.

Smiling and turning away from the island where he is standing Jashiki jumps to the water below and falls into it, moving from this patch of water to the shores of his island. Just outside the bender village he walks in heavily and calls on the wave master.

Sitting heavily just outside the village Jashiki leans against a wall of a house and closes his one eye, lifting his hand to set it over the socket and feeling it scab and tighten up.Looking over the wave master runs around the corner of the building panting and skids to a stop staring at Jashiki. Kneeling and bowing his head for a second Ker-Hai stands again and walks closer, kneeling at Jashikis side and looking at him.

"My Lord, i had hoped what i heard on the wind had been wrong. But you are here and wounded so i am forced to accept it."

Looking around Ker-Hai sits down next to Jashiki and leans against the wall also. Looking over Jashiki speaks quietly.
"I was ambushed. But that is not the important thing, right now i have to listen to someone and keep myself out of the way so i can build the power needed to strike back."

Looking over in shock and surprise Ker-Hai looks around again to make sure no one is listening before saying back also in a quiet voice.
"My Lord, tell Me what we can do for you. We will do our best to build your worship and power beyond what it is."

Smiling and leaning his head back against the wall and closing his one eye Jashiki reach's out to set his clawed hand on his leg.
"I knew i could count on my wave master. Send word to the ones teaching at the university and tell them to start spreading my word more, and to push on the training of the water benders i created there. Then pick 20 of your best and most ferocious fighters, they need to go and watch over an island for now. I was forced in watching over it and keeping violence out of it much like i have here. They themselves can take any action they wish to keep the peace including killing any who wish to fight."

Looking at Jashiki with slightly wide eyes and taking a deep breath Ker-Hai takes a deep breath and slowly lets it out.
"I understand,a messenger will be sent with the squad and will stay with them in case they need to send a message back."

Raising one claw Jashiki clarifies what he said.
"Spread my word outside the university, me and the god there are not having on speaking terms at the moment. Have them move the alter outside into the city and while i don't think teaching is bad there i don't want the alter there anymore. "
Looking at the wave master Jashiki asks.
"Are the benders in the kingdom of Aurora still part of our group? I could hear and feel the prosecution in Aurora and i don't want them to put themselves at risk. But send messages to all benders, Lysei has become mad and does not care about justice but instead only with making those around him follow his laws."

Taking a deep breath and leaning forward Jashiki rests his elbows against his knees as Ker-Hai's face goes slack and his eyes widen. Feeling Ker-Hai's eyes on him Jashiki push's himself up and leans against the wall. Looking down at Ker-Hai.
"Kill those who fight. I have shown the calm face of the ocean, now it is time to show the other faces of it to all who thought that i am only one for peace and compromise."

Stepping forward and into the edge of the ocean Jashiki walks into the water and slides into it and out of sight.

The Runeitry Forge: Indraj-Alika

Work on the Vazin's project was proceeding nicely, in many ways Indraj had become stuck in a rut; to be able to push himself in such a way was a godsend. The top was complete, layers of metal and gold forming intricate patterns and designs; in the centre was a sun, etched out in simple glowing runes.

Placing his hammer down Indraj wandered to the back of the forge, interested in seeing how his apprentices were managing the new cogs and wheels. On arrival he saw around twenty young smiths and Runewrights, hunched over benches and forges determined to emulate Indraj's designs. Ironically for a group working on clockwork no one seemed to be in tune with another.

One lad was halfway through assembly of a small mechanism for telling the time, another had barely placed two cogs together. Two Runewrights were sat at thier stations doing nothing, simply because no one was given them a job. Everywhere tools and projects were abandoned, some almost complete. IN short it was a disaster, one that needed to be fixed.

Indraj had never been one for public speaking, in the end he just shouted at them

Yoren, Silvercraw

The meeting was hastily called in the middle of the day. He called the meeting of the entire family when he heard the reports through his spies. At first, he thought that the spies finally developed a sense of humor but when he saw the inscriptions on the walls of his spacious compound, he knew it to be far from a farce. Three blood-red hawks were painted on the walls, the unmistakable insignia of a house long extinguished by Yoren himself, had emerged once more. He ordered the insignia to be taken down from his walls but then the image became scrawled wherever the Oscens had business. Even the enigmatic Gora, was starting to get distracted from his affairs in the Hall of Raptors.

Yoren left his business in the middle of the city. He sent word through his messengers to gather the family at the estate so he could get a headcount and to tell them about the revelation. No doubt his cousin wouldn't take his news lightly either. He met his guards at the door and quickly they made their way out as fast as they could. They took to their wings but before they reached the air, his guards were pulled back down to the earth. Yoren only caught a glimpse of it before he was also gripped and pulled down. He hit the ground with a resounding crack from one of his wings. The pain didn't affect him at first as he tried to look at what pulled him down. A whip gripped his foot and he looked up to see them.

Krakari adorned in the colors of the Severyn were standing over him. Yoren looked for his men but they were already slain by the time he found them. Daggers were sheathed in their bodies by his captors. He tried to stand but only then did he feel the pain in his wing. Yoren cursed loudly at the sudden surge of pain which resulted in the Severyn putting a back over Yoren's head. Before he lost consciousness, he felt one of them lean close to his head.

"You will pay for your sins, Oscen." The voice said before he faded into the dark as he was carried away.

Winter was once more settling over the land with all that typically entailed. The battles raging along the coast of Ray-Das would be more difficult for the attackers now, perhaps providing a temporary respite from the conflict.

The arrival of winter was especially unkind to the newly created spiderfolk, who seemed to be particularly unsuited to the climate change. Gradually though with frightening speed the driders died off.

(It is now winter, god AP is restored)

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Battles

The warriors of Ray-Das proved as indomitable as ever, driving back the Krakari attackers who wisely retreated under the hail of arrows rather than risk casualties. The Auroran navy was not so fortunate however, emboldened by talk of honoring the Father they refused to retreat when the tide of battle turned against them, and while they managed to flee without being crushed entirely it was only by sacrificing the elite warriors brought to aid them, and even then they lost a number of ships and men.

The Aurorans faired no better in their conflict with the Luug, and were swiftly driven off of the island suffering significant losses. What they had managed to construct of the outpost now lay in the hands of the Luug.

(As a result of their defeats the Aurorans have lost the elite unit they employed, as well as 2 points of wealth)

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cyth'Raul

The gods curse spread quickly to its intended targets, burning the runes they wielded into them and haunting their dreams with the whispers of the god. As the curse spread through the lands a stigma began to grow around the magic they wielded, though most still trusted it others began to claim that such meddling with powers beyond their own was unnatural.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Gangari

This time the gods efforts were rewarded and his plan with the university resumed the course he had in mind for it. The alterations would not go unnoticed by those who wandered the structures halls, though they had no real idea what such things meant.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Aurora

While news of their failures in war left many Aurorans downtrodden there was one great success they could be proud of. At last Auroran settlers had managed to increase the empire's territory, bringing the word of the Father to the newly risen lands. Many were hopeful this heralded a change in luck for the settlers and that the empire would only continue to spread now.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Deep Tribes

The manor was already a large and sturdy structure and transforming it into a citadel was an easy enough task for the Luug settlers. Some even claimed that the souls of the dead still resided in the lands and would help defend them, though such things were only stories there was certainly truth to the strength of the Luug's new fortress.

Meanwhile the Krakari agent deepened the search, proving exceptionally thorough but once more finding no enemy agents. It was clear that none currently existed in the lands of the Deep Tribes.

Emperor Maximus I, Nova Verde, Isle of Maia

There was a feast held at the Imperial Palace the day the news was brought back that colonisation had been successful. Of course, as Emperor it was Maximus' prerogative to name the new lands which had come under Auroran rule. After being thoroughly reminded by Octavius that it wasn't considered appropriate to name places after living people, or himself, eventually the names were decided. Maximus had been adamant that somewhere would be named in honour of Kaius and thus the new islets between Maia and Pesh were dutifully became the Kaigarde Isles. Respect for ones ancestors being another important consideration, the mountainous peninsula in the Channel Strait was named after both Sirius I, founder of Nova Aurora, and Sirius II, the Verde brothers' predecessor and grandfather. Sirigarde it was declared, or Sirius' land, in the old tongue. Finally, the boy Emperor wanted to bestow a unique name upon what was previously known as East Channel Island and so inspired by a book of myths his tutor Ronin had given him to read recently, the issand would henceforth be known as Xule.

Before the celebrations could begin though, there was a meeting was hastily scheduled for the court. A tired man in his mid-thirties walked in and bowed before the Emperor on his throne, offering an tribute of rare fruits.

"Arise," Maximus said in the most formal tone he could muster, "Who are you, again?" he asked, unable to put a name to the somewhat familiar face.

"I am Lord Roland, son of Lord Olin your Imperial Majesty. I come to report back on the strange incidents at the Nelind Estate, on the north of our fair island..."

He recounted his story from start to finish, the whole court listening in rapture. When he was finished, High Prince Octavius had a couple of questions.

"The Driders stayed in our lands then?" he asked sharply.

"I believe so your Majesty, they appeared to be preparing to travel as we left. Domin was a good man, hopefully now no others will need to die like him."

"Indeed, we will have to talk to them soon," Octavius replied, stroking his chin, "And what became of the Lady Nelind?"

"I'm afraid she passed away on the journey back to Nova Verde, if the Driders are to be believed there was little hope of recovery anyway. My father is her nearest living relative and so we've already sent up representatives to manage the surviving slaves and other assets."

"Good, anything you want to add Maximus,"

The boy shook his head.

"Well, let's get this feast going then!" Octavius laughed and clapped his hands together as slaves ran frantically into the room laden down with plates of meats, fishes and exotic fruits, pulling out tables at the same time so within a minute a veritable winter banquet was prepared for the hungry nobles. Few would spare a thought for the commonfolk outside, as always struggling to survive in the harshest of seasons.

.

General Omar, west of Lot-Vos

General Omar sighed as the Aurorans returned to regroup, battered and bruised. He already knew the result before Captain Fallan read out the fateful news: their elite troops were gone, massacred in an instance. The General wrote out a letter to the Prince Regent detailing the tragedy and then prayed for a while, unsure what to do next. He eventually came to the conclusion that now was not the time for abandoning their duty, his people had volunteered to help the Kratari and they would continue to until either they were beaten beyond repute, or victory was attained. First though, he would give his warriors time to rest and see if the request for support from home would be met. Only then would they return to the battlefield, renewed and ready to win the war once and for all.

.

Prince Torus, Isle of Cytundeb

"Retreat!" the cry sounded as the Aurorans boarded their ships and left the shore of Cytundeb as the trading post was torn to pieces by the Luug. Shortly afterwards a new deal was flashed before their eyes. They would be able to trade with the Luug on the island but not set-up their own post there. The sailors bitterly prepared for the journey home, a feeling of betrayal felt among the crew.

"Your orb was right," Torus raised an eyebrow at Aldren as the two settled in their Captain's , "It is really is something, huh?"

"What will happen now," the navigator replied, looking shaken, "Will we try to land on another part of the island?

"No, I feel home is calling," Torus shrugged, "Looks like my holiday will be shorter than I expected, I don't think the Prince Regent will be very happy, though we can't be held responsible for Cyth'raul's actions," He spat into a bucket, "Pffh, Pactforger? More like Pactbreaker!"

"Sir!" One of the sailors stuck his head around the door, "I regret to report that most of our food and fresh water supplies were destroyed in the Luug attack, there simply wasn't time to pack them."

"Damn it," Torus cursed, "Set a course for Ajivha, we can purchase some more supplies at their Nau port."

~

"Is this... Ajivha?" Prince Torus asked as land appeared over the horizon several days later. Somehow most of their navigation equipment had been lost in the attack by the Luug and so the Auroran traders were making their way south-east by older, less accurate methods. Aldren climbed down nimbly from the crows nest, landing on his bare feet in front of the prince.‏

"I don't know sir, it looks rather... green... for Ajivha," the young navigator admitted, "the only other land on this map is far to the west, I can't believe we'd have gone that off, could we?"‏

The three boats approached the island cautiously, finding before them a dense jungle of tropic trees. Sandy beach stretched as far as the eye could see in either direction, not even the smallest sign of man or beast could be spotted.‏

"This isn't Ajivha," Aldren said quietly, "the only place that fits is... South Channel Island,"‏

As Aldren spoke, a massive bird with sand flowing from its wings sprung out of the canopy. It was larger than most buildings and could only be described as something out of a children's book. The creature had five men on its back and they were riding it without so much as a glance back from the bird. The bird flew slightly over the ships and sand began to cascade into the water near them. The sailors then heard a voice, "Where are you from?" It was very matter-of-fact and had little whimsy involved, unlike the bird the voice came from.‏

"Ah!" Cries filled the air as many of the more cautious sailors threw themselves under the decks to put something between themselves and the giant birds, others instinctively readied their weapons in-case this was a prelude to an attack. Torus held up a hand and the activity halted, the men ready and on guard for whatever would come next.‏

"We are from the blessed fatherland, Aurora," Torus called to the odd men, "I am Prince Torus, Duke of Manor. Where do you hail from?"

"Got any proof?" The voice returned, ignoring the question that Torus returned to it.‏

"Is the Auroran flag we fly not enough?" Torus asked, pointing to the red, white and blue banner fluttering from the top of the ship, "Besides, who else would look like us? The only other humans we know of in this world are the Ajivhans and they look nothing like us." He pointed to himself and Aldren. "Ever seen an Ajivhan with as pale skin as us two?" He then gestured to a swarthy Tianese sailor, "Ever seen an Ajivhan with eyes like this?"‏

"Enough with the interrogations, Vasha." A more soothing voice came back from the bird and then the bird slowly began to perch itself on the ship, revealing in closer detail the five humans on it, clearly Ajivhans. It was then that Torus saw leading the other four, a rather tall, lanky and scraggly haired man. He spoke extremely eloquently, which contradicted his lazy appearance.

"I am the Great Emir, current occupier of this island and... servant of Lysei." Emir hoped mentioning their Father would help out a bit, even if he had never met the god. At the very least it would serve as an ice breaker. "I don't wish to toss out idle threats, but while I can not say there are substantially more humans on this island, I can promise that this bird you see is not my only pet. Let's try to all be on our best behavior, after all I do not seek any quarrel with Aurora."‏

"We are but humble traders," Torus shrugged in reply, "Fellow worshippers of Lysei. We are only looking to purchase supplies before we return north to our own country." He looked again at the men. "It's been many years since I visited that country but you appear to be Ajivhans. Have your people decided to colonise this island then?"‏

"Not quite, actually. We used to be civilian traders within Aurora, exploring for new resources. It was during this that we found ourselves captured by the weather. We did not expect to survive the terrible sea drainage now known to have been caused by Cyth'raul, but Lysei plucked us out of the water, placed us on this island and gave us the power to create all of what you see on the island."

"And what you don?t see." Relind added cautiously. He was standing behind Emir with Vasha and the others. Emir turned back and chuckled. "I should introduce everyone else." Emir pointed to the very large looking man in the back, he was bald and clearly blind in one eye. "The big guy is Vasha, smarter than he looks. The brave man behind me is Relind, and the two behind them are Nora and Marketh." Nora was the only girl with the group, she carried a large saber and was not looking pleased. Marketh had very little distinguishing him and simply carried himself with an air of confidence.‏

"From Nova Aurora then?" Torus asked, "That is where most of your stock in our lands originate from, though I can't say I've been there recently either. Too much time spent in the Imperial Court..."‏

"We are from everywhere. Though as of the past year, we have been from right here. Have you heard of the art of Genning?" Emir had a wide grin on his face. "We have been looking for a way off the island safely, and perhaps it may be time to return to Aurora, and maybe explore the nation a bit further."‏

Torus paused at the mention of genning, were they referring to the same power as the secret project Octavius had shown him?‏

"Perhaps," he said slowly in reply, "I know of a magical art where the user can produce small living beings from nothing, is that what you call 'genning'?‏

"Perhaps on a very simple scale. In reality, when one learns the art of Genning, what one can create is solely reliant on their imagination?and dedication." Emir flashed a toothy grin and said. "I have had birdies tell me of the war between Aurora and the Ray Das. Perhaps, if you take me to whoever is in charge of that, we could work something out. I would love to go exploring again, and am in dire need of some able bodied soldiers, along with supplies. I think Kaius would be willing to make such a trade, don't you?"

"Kaius? But he..." Of course, Torus realised, if they had been lost since the time the waters lowered then they wouldn't know. "I'm afraid his late Imperial Majesty contracted a sudden fever and passed away a few months ago," he said solemnly. "His younger brother Maximus was enthroned in due course, with Prince Octavius acting as Regent,"‏

"So it's true then? I had heard rumors of it, but I did not think they held weight. Such a shame, but I suppose not even the great leaders of our nations are beyond expiring. Who is leading the war against the Ray Das? I suppose I could speak to him instead."‏

"Octavius would be the man you would need, I know him well and could easily provide an introduction," Prince Torus replied with a sly smile, "We have few supplies already though and could barely afford to take on more men. If you can provide us with sufficient fresh water and food for our crew, we'll happily give you passage back to Aurora in exchange,"‏

"I could arrange something akin to that." Emir snapped his fingers and the island began to shake. All at once, golems began to rise from the sand and stood at attention. "Gather the supplies. I am making leave of this island, you will soon be free to do whatever you wish." The golems quickly went into the thicket and brought back seven other people, along with most of Emir's supplies. "I created some plant life to make this place a bit more homely, also helped with the food situation." The golems quickly loaded the ships up and soon wandered into the forest to do whatever golems do when not under orders.‏

"Come aboard!" Torus cried in amazement, "There's room for you all here, you have more than earned a ride back to Aurora. Back we go!" he called to the sailors as they reluctantly pulled up the anchors and prepared the ships for passage north again.

The Sand Bird flew up in the air and began to circle the ship as the other condemned prisoners of Ajivha embarked on the ship. Emir gripped their hands with a smile and said "I told you I would get you all away from here." They nodded and Emir cast a big toothy grin at the sea. "And so, a new chapter in the history of the world begins here. Think about everything you may yet accomplish here Prince Torus, they will write about this day in the history books, I think."‏

"Yes, this magic could transform our armies," Torus replied with a glint in his eye, "Thank Lysei for this blessing!"

Driders

The winter came and the Driders were not receptive. They had few ways of insulating themselves and their chitin did little to deal with the cold. So they prayed and prayed for help. Eventually, it came. It was amazing, a small torrent of sweaters came raining from the skies and the Driders rejoiced, because now the weather wouldn't kill them off, and how silly it would be if the Driders, who survived the attacks of the guards, were killed by some chilly weather. They continued on their trek to the capitol.

Wolf-Keal, Lot-Vos

"Forward! Fire! CRUSH THE WEAKLINGS!"

Wolf-Keal leapt from the barricades, transforming mid-leap. He land onto of a birdmen, jaws over it's throat, tearing it to pieces. He raised his head as the Elites rolled over him, leading forth. The birdmen took to the sky, a few falling to the cover battalion as they fled. However, the humans fought on even as the tide of flesh, fur and feathers rolled over them. Wolf-Keal revelled in the victory as he tore apart what seemed to be some kind of high-ranking group of soldiers. It was glorious watching those who would terrorize and attack the Ray-Das, Wolf-Keal's people flee in terror of the vengeance they dared to poke at.

-------------------------

Las-Fle, Seas North of Lot-Vos

The messenger swooped down, dropping forth a piece of paper bearing a seal and signature of Wolf-Keal, on the decks of the Auroran ship. The bird, perched upon the railings of the ship, formed into a smiling halfling, on board the commanders ship.

"Greetings! Ah, I remember our last conversation, something along the lines of forcing us to join a Trade Federation. So, now that we are on... better terms, I believe it is time for a talk. You see, we have no quarrel with your nation. Apart from your dead men on the beach, that is, haha! Anyway, I believe, due to your failure so far and the nice chill that's set upon us, it would be well advised for you to leave. We, the Ray-Das, are willing to give you a free pass on this one. You are a great sailing nation, and as such we have respect for you and your way. Of course, if you keep trying to pursue and attack us, we may have to retaliate... with proper force, of course.

So, what say you? We don't really have a wish to slaughter more of you. It was sport at first, but now there is no gain for us. Hell, ha, you aren't even in our lands. It's simply makes no sense to wet our blades on human blood when there's a storm going on."

-------------------------

Fri-Loc, Seas North of Lot-Vos

The messenger flapped towards the ships of the Raptor States. Landing upon the capital ship, the bird squawked, shaking loose a similar piece of paper as the Aurorans received. Moments later the bird shifted, leaving a halfling perched on the deck.

"From Wolf-Keal, I, Fri-Loc, have a message for you. It is short, and simple. However, you would do well to heed it.

You have invaded our lands, and been beaten back, refuted and crushed at every turn. Even your noble friends and sailors the Aurorans could not help you. I believe you realise the gravity of the situation. We have a far mightier army and fighting force than you could ever hope to have, as your dead friends discovered.

Now, it is fairly simple. Apparently you and the noble humans had a... "brilliant" idea for a Trade Federation. So, inspired by your ideas, we have decided that in return for your unjust invasion, we will have to come to an agreement.

First, your lying merchants, and potentially the noble Aurorans join a Trade Alliance with the glorious Ray-Das. The rules of this would be simple. We have a wonderful trade between us, you do not foolishly try and attack us and we will look for, heh, greener pastures, if you catch my drift.

Second, you hand over some of your filthy gold or wealth, either one lot of goods a season for, say, six or so seasons, or hand over four ships worth now. We will... forgive you, for crimes and dishonour previously shown, and, at least for a while, ignore your existence.

Lastly, you refuse our demands, and your people die. No, we do not purposely target them, as you well know we just want the various supplies you keep stashed away, but there's always a few accidents in war. Maybe a few raids, tear off the locks on your doors and warehouses. Maybe we take a city or two! What's the point in taking your wealth when we could just force your people to do it for us? I'm sure we'd find a use for every man... and every women. Haha! Some of my brothers and sisters are into the feather, what can I say?

So, since you have disgraced yourself on the field of battle and continue to hide, what say you? Door 1, Door 2 or Door 3? Which option do you choose?

-------------------------

Lot-Vos

"Strike once to crush the skull, strike twice to make a hole!"

A drunken group of Ray-Das stumble down the street, drinking and celebrating the victories won on the shores just north. A bowyer looked on and laughed as they stumbled past, giving them a wave. He turned back, to where the first batch of crossbows were being dragged forwards. A team of Elites had arrived, the third brigade to be formed in the New World. They were to be the first to wield the deadly power of the crossbow. A smaller version of the mighty ballistae mounted on the walls of the Sammah, they fired shorter arrows called bolts with frightening speed. The commander thanked him before offering to take the bowyer and all of his friends and workers for drinks, after giving the Ray-Das such a gift. It was an offer the bowyer quickly accepted.

-----------------------

South-East of Cal-Las

A happy and only slightly drunk caravan driver lead the new settlers to the south east. Buoyed on by the success of the armies, they decided the only way to truly honour them would be to erect a city in their name. Forwards! They would Strike the Earth, for the glory of the Ray-Das!

----------------------

Meanwhile, in a darkened alley somewhere in Lot-Vos...

A flustered halfling in an unfitting blue hat stumbled through the side-street, before tripping over his own feet. He pulled himself back up, quickly making sure no-one saw Slo-Pok, the first Ray-Das Police Officer, fall flat on his face. He trundled down the alley, softly calling, "Mr Bird? Spy-Bird? Hellllllooo?"
The brave little Ray-Das had been set a task, and he would not fail in his duty!

... Now, if only he worked out how to actually put his shoes on...

- Major - Implement Tech - Crossbows
- Major - Settle to the South-East (contact with Sammah borders is ok)
- Major - Counter Espionage (Seriously, there is just a bird in my nation doing bugger all and flapping around everywhere squawking)
- Minor - Deploy the two Open Combat Elites to the front lines, for now, with the Besiegers still in Lot-Vos.

Jashiki, Lot-Vos, 12/15 AP

Floating under the water of the ocean and meditating Jashiki's eyes open quickly as a rush of power infuses itself into his body. Flexing his arm and looking down at himself he can feel the powers that had been drained from him for a time return. Standing in the water and floating up to the surface he stands on the waves and looks out at the land and people. The air cold again and the feel of ice in the sky Jashiki moves to his island and looks down at it, making sure that everyone on it are safe. Then moving to the Ray-Das he looks down at the lines of battle, watching the bird people and Aurora line up together against the Ray-Das. Watching them for a while and sampling their minds on both sides Jashiki has to smile, the ray-das having pushed back every attempt of the allied enemy to try taking their city. Looking down and Tilting his head Jashiki decides not to interfere yet, no need to and he doesn't want to make the ray-das dependent on him to fix every piece of trouble they get into. Turning away from the battle lines he stands over Lot-Vos and looks down at it, considering and watching the people.

Raising his hands and looking down at Lot-Vos Jashiki creates hundreds and hundreds of little animal replicas made out of water. All of them shifting around like a real animal and some of them acting like they are crying out even though no actual sound comes out. Looking over them all and lowering his arms Jashiki smiles and watch's them all play around in the air for a few minutes before waving a hand at them and watching as they all start turning towards the ground. Raising his hand and holding it for a second he drops it down sharply and they all race forwards towards the city below. Running and flying and swimming through the air they ignore walls and roofs and things like that as they all go in search of people. Every time they get to the one they are searching for they hit their chest and as the person staggers back the water animal dissolves inside and each of them can feel powers infuse with them. Many of them crying out as red burn like marks show on their arms and back, many of them ripping their shirts off to look at their chests and arms better they all see an outline on their chest. Even with the angry red marks on their skin there is no actual pain, but their minds and body's do ache. Each of them feeling like dormant powers inside them have awakened and been multiplied, and soon many of them try out their new powers.

Looking down and feeling many try out their new powers Jashiki smiles thinly. Some of them in their homes, some on fishing boats waiting for the war to end, and some of them on the wall making sure the city can not be overrun.

Difficulty: 9 Cost: 3AP +4, most of the transformations are water exclusive, +2 letting the body change into several different things.
- Place or remove a blessing/curse on a large group of humans (500) with permanent, ongoing effects.

Druids
druids have the ability to change into 6 different things.
Shark, Squid, Eagle, Brown Bear, large Snake(constrictor, not poisonous), Crocodile.
those with this power get red marks on their skin like scalding water had been poured on both of their arms. Causing red areas of skin in waves and swirls, they don't hurt but they are very visible to anyone looking.

On the belly or chest will be a red outline of an animal, one of the 6 they can turn into, for the purpose of transformation they can use the animal outlined the same as being human.

they have to be human to change into one of them, meaning of someone is a shark he has to go back to human to turn into a dolphin. Or any other of the combinations in that set.

Their body's consume 3 times more energy than a normal one does so they need to eat 3 times more. What they eat while in their animal forms counts towards that.

Grand Ajivha: Palace of the Vazin, The Vazin's Private Chamber

'Lord Vazin. It's finished'

Visor Dhurta was at his door, a group of guards in attendance carrying Indraj's work.

His orders had been simple; 'armour, the finest you can craft', needless to say the mastersmith had come through. The armour was typical Ajivan style; thin plates connected by even thinner chainmail, full helm covering the head, curved at the back to form a gentle upwards sweep behind the face. However where most armour was steel or iron the Vazin had made it clear; the new alloys of the university were to be used, those crafted by science and chemistry. The result was a durible metal which shinned a brilliant white and shimmered as light passed over. Gold coloured runes covered the whole thing, tracing the lines of the wear's limbs and highlighting the edges of the plates. In the centre of the torso shone a sun, burning with mystical light. All in all it was stunning, the cost had been a fortune but ultimately it would be worth it.

The Vazin stood on legs which had not been used in days, only to touch the sun at the armour's centre. HIs turned to his Visor.

'I am old Dhurta, by all accounts I should be dead.'

This was one of the many things he had mulled over during his isolation, even the desert sun sets and as the days went by he felt himself growing weaker and weaker.

'And yet there s so much to do. Always so much to do. A few years ago I would have accepted my fate, but now... I am not so sure.'

The Vazin circled his new armour; memorising every line, every ring of mail, every thread of rune.

'Times have changed, Gods walk the earth making a mockery of everything we stood for. How can their be true order when the seas change their course, when birds rise from stone, when metal trees grow? Ajivha needs permanence, it needs a strong hand to lead it, something which mine no longer are'

He turned to the guards.

'Take the armour to the Runeitry. Call forth the Demiurge and whomever leads the Necromancers and the Genners. They have their orders and should be prepared.'

Gangari - Silver-root - 15/15 AP

Silver-root had it's body, brain, and soul now. it was rooted throughout the nation and its mind was soon to awaken fully to the world. His child had survived its troubles and it was to flourish. But Gangari was troubled as well.

Gangari pulled his eyepatch from his pocket, and started placing it back into its old position, placing it over the previously empty socket he had filled. No matter how angry he had become, he was ashamed of what he had done. Even if he hadn't had control when it had happened it was still him, he had wanted to strike out the other god before he had arrived.

It was then that Lysei came in the room. Time froze around him, an Ajivhan who was heading down to meet Gangari was stopped in his tracks. Lysei had no time for mortals right now, he had to check on Gangari. The god of fire said plainly "You haven't been yourself lately, Gangari. Are you alright?"

Gangari paused and looked at Lysei, the world frozen around them "No. The works of gods seem to last longer than the gods themselves. When I attacked Jashiki I fell into a rage and I don't know how long I was in it or how many I killed."

"I am a bit of an expert on murder", Lysei began. "A bit of bloodshed will not stick long. Tell me, are you feeling any better now? We have much to discuss and I do not wish to get in the way of your recovery."

"Yes, of course." He looked at Lysei "What do you want to discuss?"

"We have the advantage now, against Jashiki. He won't be able to fight us as effectively and Cyth'raul is not a huge threat, as far as I can tell, at least not for now. I still need to solve a few problems within my own country, but once I do, we should work on consolidating a bit of power, rather than falling to the whims of nations."

"What to you propose?"

"If we form a pantheon, small as it may be, it's possible we could kill two birds with one stone. It would either force Cyth'raul to play ball with us, or make the creature irrelevant. Either solution would work, frankly."

"That would be wise. Formalizing our cooperation would be beneficial to the nations who we draw our strength from as well."

"I also think, that in the future instead of running around attacking gods in our way, we should make a court system. If the others join that is. If not then there would not be much of a point to it, unless we wished to put mortals on trial." Lysei shrugged, "Perhaps that would be best saved for the future, however. The issue still remains on Jashiki, he should be back at full strength by now. I don't think he should join the pantheon, not immediately. What do you think?"

"I think wounding him will make him think before he acts. We should keep him at a distance and watch him until we know whether or not he intends to correct the behaviour of his followers now. If he he puts more thought into the use of his powers I have no issues with him joining us."

"Either way, drawing some power away from Jashiki would further our stance. He has a following in Aurora I have been rooting out, one that you could easily sweep up. He is exiled from Aurora and I intend to keep it that way, I know Ajivha has been moving towards playing every side it can, if you want some stable worship, come to Aurora. Spread your wings a bit." Lysei then proceeded to walk out of the university. "I have an old friend to visit, do consider my offer."

Gangari went back to work and started to think about how he would gain influence with the Aurorans. Time seemed to unfreeze as soon as it had stopped and he talked to his Demiurge Indraj about the Krakari in his University and then some of the artists of the university. His work was fine but he wanted Ajivhan art, he offered them living metal (from the malformed nodes he had cleansed from silver-root) to create statues and then offered to give them the ability to harvest more for their own purposes once they were done.

He then contacted the golemsmith Agni while he worked, he congratulated him for his efforts.

But after a few hours of dealing with the university he sensed something was violently wrong. He began to receive prayers from Luug. He needed to deal with this.

- Refreshed AP through seasonal change
- Altered Avatar

A thousand feet under the ground are a series of massive spheres composed of diamond hard silvery living metal. Inside the spheres are large libraries accessible only by Gangari. Filling the shelves are thousands of thick tomes filled with runes upon runes each fulfilling different purposes, organized in complex patterns, entwined with eldritch rites, and growing from the shelves upon which they sit. Each sphere is both a nucleus and neural network.

They connect through root like structures composed of the same material as their shells. Beyond being used to connect to eachother the roots also go deep into the earth like the roots of any other plant.

Studied in its entirety with the way it is organized, Runes and Patterns, it becomes clear that each sphere is the equivalent of a brain with the spheres connecting to eachother forming a sort of highly advanced neural network.

Through the work of Gangari there is a sphere under each of the "hexagons" composing Ajivha, Ekaki, his University, and the caves of the Silver tribe. A few inbetween the lands of the Deep Tribes and Ajivha have formed as well in a slightly lesser fashion similar to transmission pylons so that the connectivity of the consciousness is not easily broken between the the two lands.

The consciousness inside the network is developing throught the efforts of Gangari and will take time to stabilize into something coherent without further assistance.

Addendum: The original sphere is the only one large enough to walk within, it is Gangari's sanctum and is beneath the University. The rest of the spheres are compacted equivalents with thicker walls and are covered in triplicated runes of protection. There are tomes within but not in the same way, each are weaved to eachother and sealed in the living metal of the shell, making opening them impossible. The area that would otherwise be used to walk is filled with the living metal of the shell to prevent access. The original library has been moved from its original depth to two thousand feet below the ground in contrast to the depths of the other spheres of one thousand feet. Additional wards have been placed to help prevent unauthorized access and to dampen any attempts to see it unnaturally. At the original depth of one thousand feet below the university is a sphere functioning like the transmission pylons used between Ajivha and The Deep Tribes, it is a more advanced form that exists purely for the sake of increased connectivity between the spheres directly around the university and Gangari's Sanctuary.

Gangari's sanctuary (the original sphere) is the main node of the consciousness and it contains a sort of backup, if there were to be an unwanted or aberrant change to the system through a sphere other than the main one it would be able to be corrected or codified through the original sphere automatically by the consciousness within. Gangari still maintains power over the being in its entirety so if required he could correct deeper meddling of other beings given enough time.
